ONLINE TICKET FRAUD! Like everyone, I wanted to take my family to see Star Wars on Christmas Day, so I purchased tickets online the night before. Bad mistake. The theatre over sold the show. There were no seats free at all. Several other groups of customers were also left holding tickets without any seats for them. Apparently buying a ticket in advance does not guarantee you a seat.... I decided to skate past that idiotic explanation and asked for my money back. The general manager refunded my ticket money, but not the $10 online booking fee! When a business takes your money, refuses you the service they originally offered, and then doesn't return all of your money -- that's called FRAUD. Am I gonna go to court for $10? I guess they've figured a good way of suckering people out of money for not providing services and don't expect their victims to take legal action. We went to a drive-in movie at epic. The staff was fantastic. The people watching the movie, quite the opposite. If you want two hours of car fumes and cigarette smoke, then you're in for a treat. I have never been to a drive-in movie theater where people leave their cars on for the entire movie. Only in Florida. read more

It's because of theaters like this I do not go to the movies. My sister is on spring break and I figured it was a weekday and early so it wouldn't be crowded. Thankfully it was not. However, the theater is very very small. The establishment has a horrible odor. The staff was absolutely rude and condescending for no reason at all. Almost everyone we encountered acted as if purchasing something or asking a question was a HUGE inconvenience. This is the only theater in the town but a short drive to Disney Springs AMC theater is well worth it. Save yourself the headache and don't come here. read more

We went in here for a matinee movie during the week and my children's father purchased tickets for us adults, our three year old and our one year old not thinking about the fact that the children, at least our one year old would be sitting on our laps. When we entered the theatre the person taking the tickets informed us that most of the time they don't charge for babies so I approached the manager and requested a refund for my son's ticket because we did not know. The manager was very short and dismissive and rejected the request without saying too much or explanation after his employee told us they don't typically charge. The theatre was under construction when we went, had a small variety of snacks and drinks and the employees were not incredibly friendly. The only reason I am giving the theatre as many stars as I am is because the actual theatre was comfortable. The chairs were comfortable and reclined all the way back. I would go back for comfort but do have to warn about the poor quality management. read more

Went for a drive in movie. First time here TERRIBLE experience. The movie was scheduled to be at 10:45, they didn't get us parked until 11:15 while there was still the whole line to get mind you we were at the front of the line. Not the workers fault they were very kind however the overall setup was nothing more than adequate. Wouldn't recommend would much rather go to the Ocala Drive in much cheaper and better set up and runs a lot smoother. read more

You would think after spending a small fortune at the concession stand that you would get a thank you instead of an "ok bye" from the person at the register. Incredibly rude customer service. Also the theater was extremely dirty and we were the first people to walk in the theater. Doesn't look like it was cleaned after the last show. read more

Horrible !!! Not only very dirty, but I believe its time for an up grade. Most other theaters have reclining seats and room to walk. Not to mention you get kicked by the people behind and have no choice but to kick, and not purposely , the seat in front of you. $20 for a couple and your uncomfortable the whole time, not worth it. I'm going to Leesburg or Winter Park, awesome experience at either of those. read more

We had a bad experience. We went up to the concession stand, and there were 3 employees behind the counter and also 1 couple in front of us. The couple in front of us waited 5 minutes to be acknowledged.. the other two employees continued to talk and not even look up. We waited another 5 minutes as the couple in front of us started a conversation with the guy helping them.. no one acknowledged us in line but we where the only ones there. It might have been a slow day but that is no excuse to ignore a customer. This was the last chance for us... we will not be going back. read more

This is my first time here. It's just a typical theater. They don't do matinee prices, which makes this even worse. Prices on concessions are comparable to other theaters, absolutely nothing makes this theater stand out. Nothing "epic" about this place. 2 stars for the fact they had an earlier showing of a movie I wanted to see that other nearby theaters weren't showing. read more

As far as theaters go, nothing to complain about. They manage lines well. Concessions are, of course, overpriced --but I've been raped much worse in other theaters. Hit movies are always playing--on a convenient time schedule. I would definitely recommend... Then again, we have nothing else in Clermont with which to compare it. read more

I've been going here since it opened and its an OK theatre. It's the only theatre in Clermont so there isn't much of a choice but to go here or drive to winter garden. Decent sized theatres but nothing fancy like reclining chairs. It's close to a dollar tree so just get your candy there and sneak it in. read more

Theatre needs to not allow kids under 6 in rated R movies. I had to leave the theater after several people complained and no action was taken. They allowed the kids to cry, scream, hang on railing and run in theater. The management took no action. I will not return to this theater. Parents get a sitter it is borderline abusive to cover a child's mouth because you picked and inappropriate film to drag them to. read more

Total ripoff! Took the kids for $6 Tuesday and they wouldn't honor the price. Said I needed a coupon off their website. I said I would pull it up with my phone and they told me it had to be printed out. There were large signs advertising their $6 Tuesday movies yet they refused to honor it! Charged us $8 for a matinee. Place is clean, seats comfortable and popcorn fresh but their ticket policy stinks! On another occasion I tried to use a Fandango gift card and they refused to honor that as well. Sadly, this is the only option in Clermont so they have no respect for keeping their customers happy! At the prices they are charging, Redbox is quickly becoming the only affordable way to see a movie anymore! read more

fellow Yelpers, 3.5 stars It's hard to go crazy and give 5 stars to a place that over charges, as all theaters do. The theatre itself is nice and modern. Clean and compares to most other theaters. It is a family run company that has a few locations. It gets the job done for sure. As for concessions. I would notice that most people pop into the Dollar tree located right next store and guy all the movie theatre candy and treats there. I'm sure they know it's happening. If they reduced the prices done it wouldn't be that bad. I always still would purchase a popcorn from concession because nothing compares to the real deal movie theatre popcorn, when it's done right that is. I would say check it out. If your in the area or a local this is your movie theatre option! Enjoy. And SEE YOU AT THE MOVIES!! read more

Online purchase of tickets is a scam. They charge a convenience fee, but when you get to the theater you still have to stand in line at the box office and hand them the credit card for them to print the tickets. I could have stood in line, hand them the credit card to buy the tickets at the box office, and not pay a convenience fee. (What's the convenience they charge for?) read more

I visited this theatre prior to reclining seats being installed and it was ok.now with reclining seats and what appears to be new carpet and brighter screen it has become my theatre of choice. It is a better value than most others. Still less than ten bucks to watch a movie. What a bargain. read more

For 30 years I have gone to the movies and never had a problem. It's not a very hard business to run. Unfortunately Epic theaters in Clermont has ruined the last 3 movies I've watched. The first movie ruined was "A quiet place". The movie started with sound and no picture. They had to reset the movie and we watched what we had already heard. The second movie was Deadpool 2. The move kept skipping and the sound would cut out. The third movie is "Solo". As I walk into the theater I hear the fire panel beeping. I informed the kid taking tickets and he said " it's always like that". I knew it was the fire panel because it's the exact model that is used at my place of employment, where I'm the building engineer. After my moment of shock at the kids remark I go to my designated theater. I sit down and wait and wait. Everyone in the theater waited a half an hour after the designated start time and the movie didn't start. We looked into the booth and saw people pulling and plugging in wires. I called the front desk (from the theater) because nobody informed the audience of anything. The front desk then said we could see the next show which starts an hour after this one was supposed to. So I switch and wait again. This time the movie started on time but the house lights did not turn off. They stayed dimmed (like they are for the trailers). This made watching the movie less than enjoyable because the movie is very dark to begin with. Also in my opinion, I believe the projector bulb was starting to go due to low coloring and flickering. I go to the movies often. I look forward to the movies. I think this theater is to be avoided if you want to enjoy a movie. read more

Good theater but they have to offer a military discount. I mean swriously?? AMC was the last hold out and they even offer a one dollar discount. It's Florida and this place charges alot so they should offer a military discount to our service members. read more

This cinema is pretty nice. My biggest complaint is that for non-3D movies they use film projectors which make the movies appear grainy and muddy. This place is pretty clean. The staff don't exactly go out of there way to be friendly but in my experience they haven't been outright rude. read more

There was problem with the color of ALL the previews, commercials and the movie itself - Poms - in theatre 5 Friday night, May 31, 7:30 showing. Everything we watched was washed out of color, looking as if it was filmed in sepia. 5 minutes into the movie I told the manager of the problem and he said he would look in to it. Nothing was changed so my friend complained half way thru and another "manager" said nothing could be done about it. REALLY!?!! Poor response to a customer complaint. read more

Went to see The Conjuring 2 at 10pm showing. The theater was a mess! Trash all over the seats and floors. Never cleaned after the earlier showing. Bathrooms were also a disgrace. Young employees didn't seem to want to be there. For the amount they are charging per ticket, Epic of Clermont should be ashamed. read more

Would give less stars if I could. Their concession stand pricing is outrageous. I wanted to add a ice water in a cup bigger than a urine sample size and they wanted 4.50. The food (hot dog) was so bad I had to throw it out. I've gone twice and both times said I would never go back. This time I mean it. read more

EPIC Customer Service Fail. This afternoon I took my grandchildren to see Planes Fire and Rescue. We arrived at 4:10 and requested tickets for the 4:25 movie. Honestly, I didn't pay any attention to the total cost of the tickets ($29). I went to the concession to buy drinks and popcorn. My wife took our 4 year old and two and a half year old toward the theater to find seats. As I was finishing paying for the concessions I see my wife heading back toward me with the kids. She said the ticket taker told her we had the wrong tickets. Apparently, we were given tickets to the 3:55 movie which had already started. I asked the ticket taker why we couldn't just go to our theater? He said the tickets had to match the theater, and that I would have to go back to the office to get the right tickets. So, with the small children and drinks and popcorn in tow - we went to the office. From the inside - no one was there, so I had to go outside back to the ticket window. I told the person (the same one who sold me the wrong tickets) that we had been given the wrong tickets, and presented the receipt and asked for tickets to the right show. He said that he needed the old tickets back. SO, back inside I went to retrieve the tickets, and returned. He took the tickets and said there would be an additional charge for the tickets I wanted - because the 4:35 movie was not a matinee. (There was no apology for HIS mistake, nor for my inconvenience.) SO I asked him to make it right. He said he was sorry, that he could not do anything. I asked to see the manager. He said he was "a" manager and that there was nothing he could do. We are talking about a $4 difference in ticket price, and I really don't care about the $4. What I do care about is customer service. When you inconvenience a customer - you shouldn't make them pay for your mistake. Or at the very least you should apologize. It made me angry and in argument, I raised my voice to him in protest, at which point he said, sir, "I can refund your money and ask you to leave." Quickly, I evaluated that I had come not for myself, but for the pleasure of my grandkids. I can assure you, if I had come with my wife to see a movie, I would have gladly accepted that offer, and driven to Winter Garden to see a movie. I had to give my credit card to him so that the theater could get their $4. When we arrived in the theater, we discovered a total of about 25 people in that showing of the movie. What I can do is not attend anymore movies at EPIC and also share with others my experience. Last year, I gave serious consideration to advertising my business with EPIC. Until today, It has been on mind to do so in the future. I can now clear my mind of that possibility. read more

This rating is not for the movie theatre's comfort or choice of movies. The most annoying thing about this theatre is how hard it is to find and the lack of signs to and from the 27 or 50 state roads! The place is like a rabbit warren to get out of, 30 mins of wrong turns finally dumped me out onto SR50 when I was looking for SR27 but at least I could find my way back from 50! There was only one small sign (that I could see) showing the theater was there from 27 South, unfortunately I was traveling Northbound! So I had trouble finding it in the first place then exiting just became a nightmare! Although the staff seemed friendly enough it was hard to get service/attention from them. The guy at the ticket window asked me to wait, even though I was his only customer and disappeared for 5 mins (no idea why). Then when i went inside to the concessions stand no one was behind the counter but 2 employees were talking in a room in the back behind the counter. They had the door open so I waited about 5 mins, then shouted to them and knocked on the counter, but they didn't hear me. Then 2 more customers came in and we waited another 10 mins then the guy shouted to them and they heard him and a flustered manager came out and said he wasn't normally on concessions. I asked for a coffee, he looked at me all startled and said 'oh, I don't know how long ago the coffee was made'. So I decided it was best to not try the coffee! I asked about the ice cream choices they had. He asked me if I wanted one scoop or two. I thought this must be all that was available so I said one scoop. He then took my money then walked me down to the ice cream stand. There were a myriad of choices and toppings etc. I would much rather have had a brownie with choc sauce and ice cream if I knew it was on offer! Also there was a cappuccino machine that would dispense fresh coffee! By now I had waited so long and the poor people behind me were still waiting so I didn't bother to ask for anything else. I chose the Edy's Peanut Butter cup ice cream. It was the worst most powdery awful texture that i have ever come across in ice cream! Now, i don't usually buy Edy's ice cream so haven't had it before, so can't say if this was normal or not for Edy's or if the ice cream had somehow gone off! Couldn't eat it anyway. Anyway, the gist of my story is, where I live I can choose to go to Disney AMC theatres or I can go to the Epic Clermont. Guess which movie theater I'll be patronizing (and I usually go 1 to 3 times a week, depending what's playing). I think it is sad that this little movie theatre may be failing but it needs to look to better signage and staff training. Did I mention when I was standing at the concession stand 3 employees were there in plain site of me just cleaning around and didn't bother to get someone to come to the concessions! read more

Attention Movie goers. DO NOT BUY GIFT CARDS. The reason is: you do not get credit on your rewards card, nor does the recipient get credit, If you give a cash gift to the recipient with a cute movie stub card - they will get to buy a ticket, see the movie, and get credit on their reward card! I have lost $80 worth of credit and I will NEVER buy gift cards again. I can see stores not giving discounts or honoring coupons based on gift card purchases - but if you are paying full price for movie tickets, I can't see why you don't get rewards! read more

They have a new policy. They will not let you past the ticket taker until the previous showing of the movie you are going to see has ended and the theatre has been cleaned. No notice of the policy. Manager said it was because people were going into other movies and cleaning issues. What a load of crap! Guess I will be heading back to AMC. read more

I will probably not return to this theater. We went there yesterday because we wanted to see a movie that has been out for a while, and the only other place it was being shown was Cinemark. Next time I will drive the 20+ miles to the tourist area. First of all, their prices are high. Concession prices are at least twice as high at similarly sized theaters. The theater itself had a foul odor, and broken seats(#15). Shortly after the movie started, two teenaged girls enter the theater and proceeded to shine the flashlight on their phones around the seating area as though they were looking for someone, but then left abruptly. The people next to me, who came in after the lights were lowered, proceeded to text and talk on their phones through the entire movie, then when they dropped one of their phones, turned on their flashlights and were jumping over the seats in an effort to find the phone. When I asked them to please be quiet, they grumbled loudly for the remainder of the movie. As soon as the lights came up, she started yelling, and I left the theater, she followed me to the lobby, yelling the whole time. When I asked to speak with the manager, she turned and literally ran out a side door. The person I asked about the manager ignored the request and continued to serve popcorn, even though there was an obvious issue. The manager never materialized. While they can't always control the behavior of their patrons, they do have an obligation to maintain a safe environment, which they did not do. I was verbally threatened "We's gunna have some WORDS" and there was no response from management. So, if you want to spend a lot of money in an unpleasant and unsafe environment, and be threatened by other movie goers, this is the place for you.
