I have had a couple facials from Delaree now. I use to do the expensive hotel spa facials, with nominal results. But now that I have been to Epic Skin, I wont go anywhere else. She is hands down the best. I always get her signature custom facial and my skin GLOWS for weeks. She even threw in a complimentary lash tinting that I can't live without now. I love the blue-black tint. It really wakes up your eyes. Epic Skin is located across from Bear Flag fish co. There is parking on the street. I just had the most amazing pumpkin peel from Delaree yesterday. I came here based on the other great reviewers on yelp, and I am thoroughly pleased with my results! My skin is still glowing! Her studio is simple, relaxing, quaint, no receptionist, with a lounge room and a facial room (with some serious equipment). She has a great line of high end products. When I first met her, she asked me what I was looking for, whether it was result oriented therapy or a relaxing experience. I told her what my concerns were and she helped address all of them. Unbelievable......I have been surfing/snowboarding most of my adult life and yes I would think about my skin and do what I thought was necessary. I bought a Groupon deal for microdermabrasion. I had never had it done and the deal was a great price so why not? I bought a package of six and i have had two so far. Delaree is outstanding! The procedure itself feels a little like sandpaper on my skin but somehow the whole process is so relaxing that I almost fall asleep in the treatment room. My skin look so good! I never thought I needed something like this done until I actually had it done. I used to get a lot of dead skin cells around my nose area. They would accumulate and I noticed it when I would apply my makeup. I just thought that was the way my skin was supposed to look! Errrr....WRONG! I had the best experience ever with Delaree! She is extremely professional, carries wonderful products, and is very gentle with her touch. She did a facial, microdermabrasion, and tinted and waxed my eyebrows. I have had a ton of facials in the past, but this one truly left me glowing. I came here after snagging a great deal on Groupon - $89 for 3 microdermabrasion sessions! Who can say no to THAT? I was a bit nervous since it was my first time having someone else do anything to my face (never had a facial in my life) and the idea of having crystals breaking the top layer of my skin scared me. Delaree is a total pro! I had the best facial of my life (even with some extractions...I barely noticed the discomfort). I didn't know exactly what type of facial I wanted when I made my appointment, but she tailored her treatment to meet the needs of my skin. She managed to deliver both results and relaxation; not an easy task! I have very sensitive skin that reddens easily, but I had very minimal irritation following my facial ( I normally have to hide out for at least 12 hours following a facial, but I was able to go to dinner an hour later without looking like I had anything done). I am in my late twenties and felt confused about how to care for my skin. Delaree treated my clogged pores and subtle fine lines simultaneously. She is an excellent communicator who ensured that I felt comfortable throughout the treatment. After my treatment, Delaree provided me with several samples of products but did not do the "hard sell" routine that I have experienced at other spas. I purchased some excellent products that have greatly improved the tone and clarity of my skin, but I felt no pressure to do so. What can I say except why did I wait so long to treat my skin so well. I am a surfer and I finally got proactive with my skin after a friend of mine told me about this Boutique Skin Care Salon down in the Cannery Village across from Bear Flag and Cordell's Shop. I went into the salon and man the vibe was very zen like as soon as I walked in. Delaree the salon owner greeted me and instantly I was put at ease by her demeanor. As we went into the treatment room and the facial began she gave me the greatest smelling lotions and scrubs that as soon as they went on I felt my skin celebrate as if they were saying WTF took you so long. The whole experience was awesome and her professionalism was unparalleled. She gave me the right products and instructions on how to take care of my skin and I am a nightly follower of those and man does my skin look sweet. I arrived early for my appointment, so when I first walked in, I noticed how cozy and cute the place was but there was no one in sight to greet you. I noticed the shelves were stocked with good products like Epicuren, Jan Marini and glotherapeutics. I sat and read a magazine until the esthetician showed up. I thought she was in a room with a client at first but when she arrived, she came through the front doors with some towels and a bottle of wine which she mentioned she was getting ready for a party. I thought the facial was going well at first until I got two face masks. So instead of doing extractions, she gave me two face masks instead and left the room for awhile to do something else. That was disappointing as extractions are usually part of a facial and I was looking forward to getting extra gunk removed. I'm not sure if I'll return as I've experience a much better facial elsewhere. read more
