I made the mistake by shopping around for a Hydrafacial and had the worst experience from the moment I walked in. I checked in for my 1pm appointment and they said they were running behind. I asked how long and they seemed unsure, so I told them if it was going to be long I'd have to reschedule. They lied and said 15-20 min... I ended up waiting 35 min. The technician looked like a young girl, she was nice but clearly not experienced at all with the Hydrafacial machine. It felt AWFUL compared to what I've gotten done before. And the session only lasted 15 min, when it was supposed to be 30 min. My face was itchy and inflamed afterwards which isn't supposed to happen. I've gotten Hydrafacials at other med spas with my skin feeling amazing and glowing afterwards. They tried to offer a discount on my next Hydrafacial, but that won't get me back. The "facials" are OK, nothing special, but they do nothing short or long term for your face and aging issues. For 1, it didn't have a spa esque vibe and that's okay if it was medical based then it doesn't need to be all about the relaxing environment. But the lady never talked to me once(tried to make a connection with me), also she never explained what she was putting on me, product wise or device wise. Even if you are trying to sell me something, tell me why and how it's going to help me. Just felt like they were going through the motions and I could get fancy feeding products put on me anywhere, I choose to find places that are interested in getting to know you and keep you as a returning client. There's a small French woman standing outside of this place pressing samples of Introstem moisturizer into your hand. If you look at the ingredients, you might be bothered that the cream contains petrolatum and polyacrylamide...not exactly my idea of high end. Made an appointment online for their $69 dollar deal introductory age defying facial. The online website made a confirmation that my appointment was confirmed for this Saturday at noon August 13th. It's in Balboa, so finding parking is a total nightmare. When you do find a spot, you'll have to walk at least 15 minutes to get there. I arrived to a closed business with a locked door and no one there. I had received 2 emails and 2 text messages to confirm this appointment. Never again. Called Facial Lounge in CDM and they can get me in today, I've been to facial lounge before and they are wonderful so I won't be disappointed. What horrible customer service, I work in Medical and make and confirm appointments all day, who is monitoring this business? If you're not open on Saturday then why would you confirm my Saturday appointment by email and text twice? What a waste of gas! Ugh now I need to wait 3 hours for a real facial. I went online to schedule an introductory facial. It allowed me to book it for Sunday at 11 AM. Shortly after I received a text message from someone there offering me 10% off to change it to a different day. I said that would not work because my wedding is less than a week away and I'm fully booked. I did let them know that if Sunday at 11 AM does not work it would be totally fine to cancel the appointment. Whoever I was speaking to via text told me she canceled the appointment and then reached back out about 10 minutes later to say Sunday at 11 would actually work. I arrived early today in case they needed me to fill out any paperwork and text the number who had been texting me to let them know I was there early in case there was any paperwork that needed to be filled out. I received no response and the doors were locked.... I waited until my appointment time had past before leaving.... keep in mind while I stood out in front and waited there was a girl inside who clearly saw me and did absolutely nothing. Total scam! They use HARD selling and intimidation to sell their products (no trusted reviews online btw). The whole experience once you are lured in off the street is sketchy from being asked if my mother and I were sisters to being asked SO MANY TIMES not to "SCREAM" when we saw the results. Who do you think I am? My mother ended up buying the under eye treatment as we did see some results, and she was then offered a free face and neck treatment in the spa. Free? Free? yeah...should have known better. She was taken into a dark room for what promised to be a 45 minute treatment, more like 5 minutes of applying product and 40 minutes of intimidation. The man literally stood over her forcing products at her, parading them as samples, and telling her that he has so many lawyers so she shouldn't dare sell them on ebay (wow great customer relations). These guys are clearly not in this business for repeat customers but rather to make their money off of a one time over-priced product and terrible experience. When my mother went to leave they charged her for all the "samples" without asking and she was so traumatized by 40 minutes of intimidation that she just left. Today we will go back to return all the products as I am not so easily intimidated as my mother. We have been told there will be a 20% restocking fee (roughly $200 in this case). NO WAY. If you get sucked into this SCAM be STRONG don't let them hard sell you anything by telling you you're beautiful or look so young, or that you'll scream when you look in the mirror. Dont be afraid to stand up to them...if they can intimidate you in the name of sales, you intimidate them right back in the name of consuming! read more

I was of course lured in by the lovely decor and what seemed to be a helpful beauty advisor but sadly was bombarded with drill sergeant style high pressure sales tactics. I am surprised Balboa Island would allow a place like this to open up. So, the sales girl, nice enough but ignored my questions but continued on about some nonsense I can't recall. She applied the Pearl Facelift filler ($700 retail, are you kidding me?) under my eyes and it was kinda weird to say the least. Yes, there was a tingling and nice result from the serum/filler whatever but I have worked in the Beauty industry for a long time.....I know what temporary filler on the skin feels like and it gets flakey and gross after an hour and those "Amazing" results are gone. They try to sell you right then and there so you don't go home and see that it was just a little slight of hand. Just a warning ladies. You can buy this stuff elsewhere for much less. Visit a dermatologist or lincensed esthetician and they will point you in the right direction...and if you are going to purchase, you can haggle these guys down quite a bit, don't pay more than $100 for a set......Hope it helps. read more

What a scam! The salespeople were liars about their business, themselves, and most likely their product as well--though I can't prove that last part. I can prove the rest, though. We were walking by with my grandparents who are in their late eighties, and a man lured them in with hope of clearing wrinkles. The product they put on did visibly reduce wrinkles fairly immediately, and very nearly sold them on paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars for this product (at a 50% discount, they said). But there were some things that didn't feel right. First of all, in casual conversation the guy said he was Italian, and my partner is also Italian, but when she said that the guy froze up and couldn't speak one word of Italian. He said he spoke French. (which didn't make sense) and my partner speaks French as well, and he didn't. And at the register the woman (some kind of manager/owner it seemed) was trying to convince my grandparents that it was a reliable product and said that they have over 100 locations across the country (or California?). Including in Beverly Hills on Rodeo Drive, which my grandparents would have trusted and said they would rather go there. "But then you won't get the 50% discount," she said. Of course there are no other locations. If you look at their website you can see that. The product? Who is to know. If I put butter under my eyes it will probably reduce some wrinkles in the short term. They are liars here, scamming you. Watch out. read more
