I still can't believe that this service contains everything that it does. I called a couple of hours ago because I had a headache and wanted a hair wash/ scalp massage. Nobody answered at first, but I received an immediate text back asking what I needed. I requested the service and I was surprised I received so much more. I received the Kaori. It was Heaven! It really does include everything it says! The only little things that may be a concern is a tad of a language barrier and other surrounding businesses where the people were being kind of loud. Even with the noise, I fell asleep! Other reviews mention parking; there is plenty of street parking. They are located in Optima Salons. There are plenty of other things to do around there before or after your visit. Take a Pilates class with Cami at CDM Pilates the next building over. Grab a juice or bagel at Brueggers. Make a whole day of it. This is a MUST!!! read more

Disappointing service and very uncomfortable tipping pressure. My friend and I wanted to love Haven Head Spa in Newport Beach, but our overall experience was a major letdown. We went in May and the actual spa treatment fell short of expectations. Our hair seems silky at first, but in 15 minutes after leaving was dry and the worst condition either of us had ever had our hair. The most uncomfortable part happened at the end of the visit. The staff stood there to make sure we were tipping, making it very much expected and putting us on the spot. To top it off, they insisted that the tip be sent to them privately and separately rather than going through the company's normal payment system. Cornering customers for untracked, private payments is completely unprofessional. read more

So neat to see your follicles under a microscope! Wonderful experience and finishes out with a blowout that left my hair feeling oh so soft! Would recommend! read more

I had a surgery and wanted a good hair wash . I looked around and found this place from yelp . I came in for a scalp massage hair wash and had such a good experience. Pinky took care of me and she was honestly so sweet. She really pays attention and makes you feel comfortable the whole time. The service included a full scalp massage, hair wash, keratin conditioner, face wash, plus neck and shoulder massage. It felt super relaxing -- way more than just a regular wash. I booked the Kaori treatment ($138) and it was totally worth it. The salon itself is small but very clean and cozy, which I actually liked. You can tell they care about the details. I left feeling relaxed and refreshed, and I'm already looking forward to coming back for more treatments. Parking can be tricky , theres some construction going on in the front but they will call you prior to your appointment and take you inside from the side door . I think you can park on the side door . read more

My best friend and I decided to treat ourselves to a relaxing head massage for her birthday. The salon is conveniently located, with an open parking lot right behind or street parking in a charming area- even easy parking for a Sunday! Our two friendly gals showed us a video of our scalp, gave us cozy robes, and laid us back for the most incredible head massage and cleansing experience. Initially, I was a bit concerned that they might try to upsell us, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the service was exactly as advertised. There were no hidden add-ons or extras to worry about. I paid via Venmo and left a tip in cash. Initially, I thought the service would be a basic hair wash, but it was so relaxing that I started to drift off to sleep. The soothing music and quiet atmosphere in a small room created a perfect environment for relaxation. The only downside was that the blow dryer used a Dyson-type dryer, which wasn't ideal for my curly hair. I brought a hat since they can't straighten or use a round brush, but it ended up being so silky and shiny that it lasted longer between washes and had a pleasant scent. Despite the slightly higher price, I would highly recommend this salon. The best part is that they also film the part of the service, so you can share the experience on social media. It was a fun little surprise that I didn't know they offered. read more

I came here on a Friday at 2pm. The experience was wonderful! It was in a private room, which I love since it can be a bit more intimate. Winnie walked me through the process of the scalp treatment. During the treatment, she did. Massage in my face, shoulders, and neck. The hair treatment itself was really relaxing. It lasted an hour and it was the most relaxing experience of all time. I highly recommend coming to this place if you wanna treat yourself. After the treatment, she blew dry my hair and the cherry on top was she even took videos and photos and airdropped it to me! I would def come back ! read more

Relaxing and wonderful experience. I had a terrible headache and the massaging and relaxation helped. And my hair looks shiny & healthy.

I took my mom here before Mother's Day, and it was a fantastic experience! This was my first time visiting, but my second head spa, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The staff was professional and welcoming, and they took the time to explain everything from the start, which made me feel at ease. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend it! read more

I wasn't quite sure what to expect since this was my first time trying Kaori Japanese head care but it was such a relaxing experience! The 12 steps started with a scalp analysis which is so cool and also gross lol. Beverly was very nice, explaining the process and checking in to make sure I was comfortable with the steps, pressure, and water temperature as we went along. I really enjoyed the scalp massage as well as the neck and shoulder massage after a long week! Best of all, it includes a skin analysis and she customized a facial mask for my dry skin. After blow drying my hair, it felt so soft and had extra shine from the keratin steam. Now I'm convinced I need to treat myself more often! The price is very reasonable considering the full experience. read more

From the moment I walked in, I felt completely relaxed and cared for. Lilly and Thomas are true professionals with an amazing sense of touch and attention to detail. The scalp massage was honestly one of the best I've ever had -- deeply relaxing and incredibly soothing. The neck and shoulder massage was just as impressive -- they knew exactly where to focus and worked out all the tightness without ever being too rough. I walked out feeling lighter and more open, like I'd had a full-body reset. And the facial? Absolutely glowing results. My skin felt refreshed, hydrated, and so clean -- but more than that, it was done with such care that it felt like a true act of self-care rather than just a treatment. Lilly and Thomas make a phenomenal team, and you can tell they both genuinely care about creating a serene, healing experience. I can't recommend Haven Head enough -- this is a hidden gem, and I'll definitely be back :) read more
