Our entire family has been to Epic Dental and we are pleased with the entire staff, and the recent great care from Kristen, Mary and Jordan as dental hygenists. Our daughter had met with one of the dentists for Invisalign to correct issues from a previous dentist. The office is impeccably clean and everyone is incredibly professional. I have been a patient at Epic Dental for some time now, and unfortunately my experience has reached a point where I feel compelled to share it publicly. The office has a pattern of canceling appointments on their end and then turning around and using those cancellations against patients by marking them as "no-shows." This has happened to me more than once. The most telling moment came when they refused to see me for a cleaning or follow-up -- but were suddenly willing to take me back the moment they found out I needed a major procedure. That speaks volumes about how this practice prioritizes patients. Most recently, I was made "inactive" based on an appointment that they had canceled, not me. When I raised this, the office manager was dismissive and manipulative, framing their own administrative failures as patient non-compliance. Rather than resolving the issue, they handed me a list of other dentists in the area and essentially told me to go elsewhere. I also attempted to enroll my four children as new patients and was told the practice doesn't have the capacity to see five patients from the same family -- even for separate, independent appointments spaced out over time. The care when you do get in may be fine, but the front office management is a serious problem. Patients deserve transparency and accountability, not to be penalized for cancellations that weren't their fault. I would not recommend this practice to anyone who values being treated with honesty and respect. read more

We have been taking our kids here for 2 years. The building and offices are quite nice. All of the people we interacted with were great and caring. We brought both of our kids in (7 and 11) and they did a wonderful job of cleaning, and also talking to them to feel comfortable at a new office. The dentist took her time and talked to all of us, which was quite nice. We will definitely be going back! Continue to be very happy with Epic. I was traveling and experiencing terrible teeth pain. I was able to get a next day appt and covered by my out of town insurance. The hygienist and dentist were both wonderful and caring. The facility is huge and very well laid out on the top of a hill. My problem was beyond their capabilities but the dentist was able to get me an appt on the same day with Endodonic Care. Epic dental and staff have taken such great care of my daughters since they were toddlers. We use both the dental and ortho sides and could not recommend them more! Pros: The pediatric dentistry unit has wonderful, friendly staff. Additionally, the dentists are well trained and very professional. Cons: unprofessional in other aspects. On a few accounts, I have found that the front desk has up-charged me. On three accounts, when I have asked for my payment breakdown, they added fluoride or an x-ray (not cheap!) when I did not receive those services on that day. Hence, when they say how much you owe, ASK THE BREAKDOWN. Don't simply go along with it. They either want to make extra money off you or they have a sustained communication issue with the dentists. They were great with educating my 4year old, she wanted to go every day. Lol. Extremely poor service. It was foolish of me to Ignore some of the previous poor reviews on yelp. I'm beyond disappointed with my experience from this morning. As a working mom of an infant juggling multiple things during these scary times, this place made it worse. Please avoid this place and find someone better, there's a whole bunch of good pediatric dentists around this area. They cancelled my infant daughter's appointment because we were extra 1 minute late and because we didn't call that we were running late. I agree we were late (16 minutes precisely) and I should have called (they have a 15 min waiting policy) but how about finding a solution (for that 1 min) rather than cancelling on us while we stood at their parking lot with an infant in a stroller and with masks on. What an amazing welcome for their first time clients. I spent almost an hour completing their online forms before the visit all for nothing but pure waste of time. The forms itself are so repetitive I almost had a headache completing them. I could have used that time to catch up on some sleep. You want to find a place that would care for you and your child in every way possible and someone who has a descent sense of giving respect and an honest sense of responsibility to serve. I understand that this is business for them and not charity but they've lost 3 clients (my daughter, me and my husband) within the span of a minute and I'm not sure if this is smart business in any way. I think their loss is our gain because we are now sure where we (and our friends) don't want to go for our dental care. There are a whole bunch of dentists in Norwood, really good ones, please save your time and find someone who is worthy of your and your child's time and energy. read more

It's taken us some time to write this review as we wanted to be honest and thoughtful. We both went back and forth between 4 or 5 stars, but have decided that the minor miscommunication we had was not big enough to lose a star.I was looking for a dentist that would meet Eric's needs as we were aware that he needed quite a bit of dental work. I discovered Epic Dental via a Facebook Ad, did a lot of research and decided that at minimum I would schedule a free orthodontic consultation. Dr. Mahaffey was great and answered my never-ending questions regarding treatment. The real MVP is Lee Mason, who has been awesome from the beginning. What started as just a consultation ended with the decision to follow through with Invisalign. Given that my ortho consultation went well, we decided this would be a great location for Eric to see a General Dentist. Next is where we felt communication was less than ideal. You can "Book An Appointment" online via the website. Information such as name, email, phone number, preferred appointment date, and which Dentist you are booking with are all collected at this time. We ended up doing quite a bit of research regarding each General Dentist and selected the one in which we believed would best meet our expectations.The following day we received a call to schedule an appointment which was awesome, however, there was zero acknowledgment of the "Book An Appointment" information we submitted. We understand some dates aren't always available but a simple statement such as "We see you selected this date and time, although they are not available here are some other dates for the same time" or even something as simple as "Unfortunately the date you requested is unavailable here is what we have," would have been awesome. In actuality the call was more along the lines of "What day and time would you like to come?" and felt as if filling out the info online was just a waste of time, since it wasn't acknowledged. On the day of the appointment it appeared the General Dentist we researched and requested would not be Eric's dentist. Again, we understand that some dentists might not be available but it's also important to communicate this with the patient so there isn't any feeling of being blindsided. It's not necessarily that Eric had a particular preference for or against any of the General Dentists, but it would have been nice to have had which Dentist he would be seeing confirmed ahead of time in order to do some more research. Thankfully, the hygienist and General Dentist were great and there weren't any disappointments, in fact they exceeded expectations! Eric is excited to have found a dental home, and at the end of the day you are in good hands seeing anyone at this practice. read more

During my first visit to Epic Dental I was met with an enormous amount of positivity and warmth. The staff at the front desk greeted me excitedly and even provided me with the WiFi code as I waited in the lobby to be seen. After a short wait I was approached my Lee Mason Epic Dental Treatment Coordinator. Lee was professional, informative and friendly as she led me to a series of rooms to get my appointment started. After taking x-rays and pictures I finally got to meet Dr. Jasun. Dr. Jasun wasted no time in showing me great care and professionalism. He talked about every possible benefit and the reasonable risks associated with my case. He carefully and patiently answered all my questions and made sure I felt involved and connected to his explanations. I had such a great experience and I'm looking forward to receiving the best care from Epic Dental. read more

I scheduled a free consultation for 2 crowns I needed to have. I meet with Dr. Alex Rabkin. To my surprise I came out with a charge I was unaware of. Not only did I owe money but his dental treatment plan came to over 10,000. I feel scammed and will never go back there again. read more

So Epic Dental responded to my review by continues to ignore my request to fix or provide braces for the awful replacement of my caps. Now they posted a comment that they cannot find my name? Proof that they really are avoiding the issue as they do know me and refuse to help, and they are claiming that they are not responsible for the 1/8th inch Michael Strahan gap that I am now left with. My family and I have been seeing these doctors for years. They were formerly part of Dedham Medical - Dedham Medical decided to no longer offer dentistry. The doctors opened a beautiful new office down the road on Route 1. My children have been seeing Dr. Moreno for years and they have never been afraid to go to the dentist, they hug him when they see him! Two of my children have had braces with Dr. Miner - always was a wonderful experience - as good as it can get! I have so much anxiety when I go to the dentist but Dr. Fanikos and Chris - her helper are so calming, I feel so relaxed and like I had fun! Everyone there is so helpful and kind! I would recommend going there to everyone I know! read more

I've had all three of my children see Dr. Miner for braces. I have no issues with the quality of work, but rather the business practices of the office - some of which have changed since we first started seeing Dr. Miner. One big complaint is that they will only seemingly schedule checkups during the middle of the day - not during the early am or late PM. This usually involves my wife or myself taking significant time off to get our kid to an appointment. It also requires our kid to miss school. Neither is good. This used to be more flexible. Second complaint is the billing guidelines. In all three cases, we were charged based on a 2 or 2.5 year program, and all three kids will be done at least 6 months earlier, but we will not be credited for the reduced effort. But if they don't follow the recommendations and need treatment for longer we have to pay extra. Epic's prices are not the cheapest, and this feels outright dishonest. That it happened once might have been an accident, but to be 3-3... The final complaint is smaller, and is also billing related. I can't remember exactly, but we needed to begin paying immediately, and were not allowed to defer expenses so we could use pretax flexible spending accounts for this service. It could have saved us a lot of money if they had allowed a small down payment until the following year began - or arranged something that would have mitigated this concern. read more

My experience started out fine, they seemed to be a genuine group of professionals that were concerned with treating my dental needs. Off to a good start, my hygienist was very nice but not so thorough. I noticed after the first visit, my teeth never seemed to feel as clean as they did with my previous dentist/hygienist (I had to leave them as I moved away from the area). She didn't take as much time on cleaning my teeth as my previous hygienist. My teeth didn't feel smooth when I ran my tongue along them as they did from my previous experience. I was told I needed periodontal "surgery" which I honestly couldn't tell you what they did differently compared to a regular cleaning yet they charged me a LOT more for it. I was told it was to help improve my gum health and that I have to do it every 3 months!? This meant the cost was coming out of my pocket now since typical dental insurance doesn't fully cover this type of treatment for some odd reason and I have great dental coverage with BCBS Dental. I can accept that my gums needed this attention but when I am not feeling any difference between what they do during a normal cleaning and what they did for this "surgery", well something just doesn't add up. I still placed my trust in them and continued on, what this meant is that I no longer received "regular cleanings" but instead anytime I came in for my yearly cleaning, it was charged as a "periodontal maintenance" and again my insurance does not cover the full cost as it would a cleaning. Again, I did not experience ANYTHING that was different to a regular cleaning? So why was I charged this extra money? Then I started receiving emails from them basically soliciting patients to book services with them to use up their dental insurance allowance for the year. This is when I started to really question their practices. The emails were clearly more concerned with them using up my annual dental insurance allowance over actually treating my direct needs. Next, I started getting bills that were grossly over billed and I had to take time out of my work schedule to call them and get it resolved with little regard from the front office staff who I will get to next. I got a bill for over $240 that they finally clarified was a mistake and should have only been $50. What became evident is that they are just looking to make a profit over providing sound dental care and advice/recommendations. I know my teeth/mouth isn't perfect but doesn't mean I should be taken advantage of because of it. I was told by my hygienist during my last visit that my gums are looking "very healthy" but then when I asked why do I need these "periodontal maintenance" visits still, the answer was basically, 'once you start them you have to stick with them'. Sounds like complete nonsense, if my gums are looking healthy obviously I am doing what I need to to keep better care of them, yet you still want to keep charging me to come in for something that is specifically for your gums? While visiting back home, I paid a visit to my previous dentist to take a look at my mouth and he confirmed I didn't need the periodontal maintenance with how I have been maintaining my gums. That was when I decided I would be leaving Epic for good. Now for the front office staff, very unprofessional from my experience. They weren't friendly over the phone and in person, they assumed I didn't understand Spanish as they were conversing in Spanish thinking I wouldn't understand them. I actually heard one of the ladies tell another she didn't like Taco Bell 'because it gave her diarrhea' as I was in front of them. Does that sound like an appropriate conversation for professional registration/front office staff during work? They figured as it was in Spanish and they fully assumed I didn't understand it, the topic was okay to discuss. Completely unprofessional! Do some research and find a better collaborative, if not individual dentist. Epic isn't so Epic. read more
