Kang because she knew her to be very clear on all options & would only recommend surgery after considering all other options.

He walked in and said how old are you? Then he said what's bothering you? Then he told me what's bothering me and what my option was. He asked where was my related incision was and then he SCRIBBLED ON MY SKIN WITH AN INK PEN AND PROCEEDED TO GIVE ME A SHOT THERE! My only thought was "what a crackpot!". He then was throwing glass viles back into a drawer and threw the syringe on top of the counter and walked away. As if I were a decrepit dog going to be euthanized. No personal skills were shown to me at all. He then came back a few minutes later and said to do p.t. And come back in a month..... fat chance! He actually did ruin the rest of the day for me. Id rather find another doctor then to allow him to rape my benefits for as much as he can while providing a poor service to me. I do not recommend this person unless you find enjoyment in this type of treatment.

His assistant was inattentive. , impolite, and unprofessional. The doctor lacks people's skills, he never greeted me by my name, he was dry and quick, made his assessment on a 2 years old MRI, and gave me 2 options, therapy or a cortisone shot. I felt treated as a number, he did not show any concerns about my symptoms or anything else. The consultation last about 10 minutes at the most. I am not planning going back to see this individual ever again.

She diagnosed an…read moreumbilical hernia and confirmed it with an ultrasound, which clearly identified the hernia in the exact area where I had pain and a visible bulge. She performed surgery in October 2025, but I received no post-op communication from Dr. Kwan. I had to proactively call with concerns when the bulge remained. At my follow-up, the issue was still present, and a CT scan later confirmed the hernia had not been repaired. Dr. Kwan then admitted she had repaired a different hernia during surgery and missed the one that was originally diagnosed and causing my symptoms. I was never informed before or after surgery that the correct hernia had not been addressed or that a new/different one was present. I only learned this weeks later after raising concerns myself. This experience was extremely concerning and disappointing, both in terms of the surgical error, lack of communication, and now the need for repeat surgery.

"The Art and Science of Wound Care."…read more I feel fortunate to be in an area that has such excellent surgeons. After a nasty mountain bike accident, I was treated at the Walnut Creek wound care center, with Dr. Young as the surgeon. After watching the team in action, I can see that the surgeon is a bit of a scientist, as well as an artist, promoting the healthy healing of a wound. It is not a trivial process. You really have to know what you're doing. I appreciate the dedication and professionalism of Dr. Young. I feel like I was in good hands the entire way. Thank you!

I feel so fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Steven Young!…read more After suffering from severe idiopathic urticaria for 6 1/2 months 24/7, he managed to cure me. I wanted a painful cyst removed, along with one of my many hives for lab testing. When I explained to him what I had been through and how my medications were making me very sick, he intuitively pointed out that my illness was probably not a simple allergy, but rather something my body was fighting such as an infection. When he examined the cyst, he realized that it was likely infected and found a way to fit me in the same day. The infection was pretty severe and would have required antibiotics if it had not been removed right away. Shortly after the removal of this painful, infected cyst, my very severe urticaria ceased. My former allergist had explained to me that I would be better in 1 to 3 years! One of her colleagues wanted to subject me to some biological immune-suppressant shots, rather than help me narrow down what was really making me sick. My family and I are very, very grateful to Dr. Young for healing me.

No follow up call, no checking in, nothing. Days 4, 5, & 6 I was in the worst pain of my life and every single call to Dr. Maz's office went unanswered & unreturned. Countless calls. Countless voicemail messages. Day 7 my message was angry & desperate and that's when finally someone random from his office called me back and told me to take more Percocet. That was it. Nothing more. So I did and it almost cost me my life. My wife was out of town but thank god over the phone she heard in my voice that the situation was scarily wrong and forced me to go to the ER as she scrambled to catch a flight home. I couldn't drive myself as I could barely function at this point. In the ER I was seen immediately and admitted immediately and that's when I knew I was in trouble. I went into septic shock that next morning. I would soon be told that if I'd waited 1 more day I would've been dead. My kids almost lost their dad because Dr Maz did a appendectomy he would later say must've had a "leaky suture". He chose not to cauterize for a reason he was never able to explain to me. Dr. Maz would make a few angry trips to my hospital room over the next week. He was as unprofessional as anyone could've been. All ego and no empathy whatsoever. During his 3 visits he repeatedly badmouthed the infectious disease doctor who saved my life. He was only concerned with his reputation and how he was being 2nd guessed. His most memorable visit was when he roughly drained the blood from a tube in my stomach and literally emptied it into a paper coffee cup that was sitting next to my bed as it splattered on me, then he dropped the blood-filled paper cup in the sink for someone else to clean up. I kid you not, this actually happened in an American hospital. Him, his office staff and the way they do 'business' is haphazard and dangerous to say the least. Routine surgery is only routine if the surgeon understands that he's not God. Dr Maz does not understand this. Avoid him at all cost.
