I was a little skeptical of all the 5-star reviews. But after my first session with Dr. Vijayakumar…read more(aka Dr. V) today, I'm enthusiastically joining the 5-star parade. In less than 30 minutes, Dr. V listened to me, examined my foot, diagnosed the problem and fixed it. He carefully cut out some deep and very hard callouses (caused by a lot of hiking in fairly rough terrain), with the immediate result that I could walk without pain or a limp for the first time in weeks. Just as importantly, he gave me a lot of practical advice about various things I can do to prevent a recurrence. And he assured me that, if there is a recurrence, I can readily schedule another appointment with him to fix it again. I only wish all medical problems were this fixable, and all medical practitioners were this competent. Hooray for Dr. V!!! I enthusiastically recommend him for treatment of your foot problems.

Usually my dad sees Dr. Huey at the Berkeley office but I was trying to get an appointment squeezed…read morein, and they had one at this facility today! So lucky! My dad is 82 and needs his toenails clipped regularly. He missed his last appt so today his nails were super long. Dr. Huey is incredibly patient and gentle and isn't (visibly) grossed out by my dad's feet and fungus issues. The staff here are also very friendly. I love Dr. Huey's shoe collection. It's much bigger here than the Berkeley office. He says patients just keep giving him shoes. There's some beautiful glass ones, enamel, a recent one from Thailand. And he's not a shoe snob either, there's plastic wind up shoes in the collection too.

I cannot thank Dr. Selina Shah enough for the incredible care she has provided to my mother. My mom…read morehas suffered from chronic knee pain for decades, and we had almost given up hope of her ever finding relief. We came to Dr. Shah for Hyaluronic Acid injections, and the results exceeded our wildest expectations. After decades of dealing with pain in both knees, my mom is finally pain-free. Dr. Shah was not only highly skilled and professional but also incredibly compassionate. She took the time to explain the procedure and made sure my mom was comfortable throughout. The difference is night and day--my mom is now walking without pain for the first time in many years. If you are looking for an doctor who truly cares and delivers results, look no further than Dr. Shah. I also want to extend a huge thank you to Michael, Hazel and the entire staff for being so warm, welcoming, and efficient during our visits. From the front desk to the medical assistants, the entire team made my mom feel comfortable and cared for from the moment we walked in.

I am very disappointed with my recent experience…read more I visited Dr. Patel for treatment of a wart. She was supposed to order a medicated patch after my appointment, but it was never ordered. As a result, my condition worsened and became more painful. I called the office to request medication. The receptionist told me that Dr. Patel would send a prescription to CVS and wanted to see me again the next day. I explained that I could not come in immediately and preferred to try the medication first. I said that if it didn't work, I would schedule another appointment and pay the additional $50 co-pay. I was told that was fine. However, three days later, no prescription was sent to the pharmacy. I am still in pain and have received no follow-up. The lack of communication and follow-through has been frustrating and disappointing. When patients are in pain, timely care and basic responsiveness should not be optional. I hope the office improves its follow-up process so other patients do not experience the same issue.

Dr. Sun looked at my feet and talked to me about them while he did his thing. I kept waiting for the pain, there wasn't any!!!:) He said he suspected a bone spur as well and his office made me an appointment at the Concord office for an xray. We will see what the X-rays show soon and I am no longer afraid getting my feet worked on. Lol 1 day after my foot feels so much better! If you are thinking about seeing a podiatrist, don't procrastinate like I did. There are 4 offices. Both that I visited were clean and friendly and quick!

I had rotator cuff surgery performed by Dr. Timmerman a week ago. From what I understand, the tear…read morewas fairly substantial, and it was not automatic that surgery would be able to repair it. Also, from what I understand, including the pictures she showed me, she was successful in reattaching it. Without being an expert on these things, it still seems to me that Dr. Timmerman is an experienced and skilled surgeon. That, of course, is by far and away the most important thing in looking for a surgeon. The reason I am not giving her an unreserved five star rating is the following: In our postoperative visit one week after the surgery, I felt Dr. Timmerman was very rushed. She showed me pictures of the shoulder and the surgery, which I appreciated, but kind of rushed through her explanation of what the pictures represent. As somebody who has zero knowledge or understanding of such things, I really did not understand it all and did not feel comfortable to ask her to repeat her explanations. Nor did she really take time to just sit down and say, "OK, how are you feeling? How is everything ?" I did not come away feeling clear on what I can and cannot do during the entire three months of my recovery period, nor on what the prognosis is for a fairly full recovery of the use of my shoulder. The whole appointment was maybe five minutes and I was asking her questions as she literally had 1 foot out the door of the room. Now I understand that doctors can be very busy, but I really do feel like they have to make time to create an atmosphere in which a patient can feel comfortable asking questions. After all, the recovery period is important. I am not sure how to say this: I appreciate the experience and apparent skill that Dr. Timmerman brings to the table. But as just some older guy who just wants to live out his remaining years being comfortable, active, and as productive as he can, I have to wonder if in the field of sports medicine us older people are sufficiently recognized for who we are.

My experience was very similar to the two other low ratings. I went in for my second appointment,…read moreand she rushed through the appointment. She did not allow me time to ask questions. I left frustrated and forgot the MRI disc. I went back and thought that I might as well try and talk to her and if she couldn't see me then, to make another appointment. The receptionist reluctantly went to ask and Dr. Timmerman yelled that I had told her that my leg hurt 7 times and that she could not address it. I have never had a doctor tell me I need surgery and refuse to answer questions. According to the other reviews, she seems to be a good surgeon, but her patient care has a lot to be desired. If you are okay with blindly letting a surgeon cut into you, this is the doctor for you. If you want information about the process or even alternatives, don't bother going in for an appointment.
