So this is my second review because I still got to say the first thing you see when you walk in the door is this girl at the front desk name Rachel a Rachet , she is extremely rude , cold with disregard for the patient's feelings it's all about her. So much intolerance, impatient with the customer, I People skill don't even deserve a one star. OK I'll give an example so he's going to do a procedure on me that is going to require me to have special shoes so I ask her for a paper that shows the different locations where I can buy the shoes she tells me I know I already gave you this, but I can give another one , Then she had me wait when she was ready she's out taking the back because they shorthanded , so I'll take you to the back , on the away ,I said I have to go to the bathroom real quick . she said " can you wait until you get finished with your visit , I said " no" it was all bad . The whole team of them are rude. The doctor knows his work, but his people skill one maybe two stars , he doesn't explain anything he doesn't talk enough to explain what he's going to do. Generally, I am hesitant to write bad reviews of anyone. I mostly use Yelp to post positive reviews of businesses that I want to celebrate. In this case, it seems worth taking a minute to voice my concern. Dr. Ambrosino does not seem to have much interest in his patients. My experience with him was that he was brusque, dismissive, and not only didn't answer my questions, he didn't even attempt to explain to me what he was doing or what the results were. I had to specifically ask him what the results of the xrays were, and he almost didn't even speak to me during my second appointment. He might be good at his job; I have no idea because I have no idea what he was doing or what it meant. In addition, he scolded me for not following his orders as he was measuring my feet, and barked orders at his assistants as he took measurements. As a patient, I want to understand what's happening, what I can do to impact my own health, and I want my doctor to treat me without hostility. As I said, he might be good at his job (no idea, and after 2 poor experiences, I don't intend to find out), but if you want to be treated with respect and care, I don't recommend this doctor. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Ambrosino since August 2018. Between the Army and working in a warehouse for 29 years, I came to him with extremely painful feet that I could barely stand on. A series of xrays that were taken and processed in his office within 15 minutes revealed the bad news. The structure of my feet had collapsed, leaving me with very flat feet and plantar fasciitis. So orthotics and a series of injections were the first line of defense. Upon receiving my orthotics and wearing them everyday, my feet started to feel different, like some structure was coming back to them. As weeks passed I noticed that my limp was almost gone. I realized that for any of this to work I had to do my part to help my feet get better. While orthotics may not work for everyone, they definitely work for me. So along with the injections, physical medicine, (a procedure where he adjusts the bones in my feet), icing twice a day and Naprosyn, life is becoming more comfortable. Dr. Ambrosino came highly recommended by my coworker. But when my payroll clerk told me that she also saw Dr. Ambrosino several years back and that I was in great hands, that sealed the deal! If you're looking for a Podiatrist that really knows his specialty, then I highly recommend Dr. Ambrosino. He knows feet! And I can't say enough about his office staff and technicians. I can't say enough good things about Dr. A and his staff. I live in Manteca and his office is located in Walnut Creek. If that doesn't say enough about how much my family appreciates, respects and loves the care and attention we receive from the doctor and his staff. I have gone through several back surgeries which has led to neuropathy in both of my feet/ankles. Which causes lots of pain, falls, torn tendons, etc. All of which Dr. A has provided exceptional care and pain relief. He always recommends the least invasive approach to give his patients the best outcome as if you were family. Along with he doesn't hesitate to call you out and let you know when you're not listening to his recovery recommendations. Let's be real we all have a tendency to ignore the doctor when you start feeling good. Well they've gone through training for a reason so it's best to listen. Especially when it's Dr. A he won't guide you wrong. I have definitely been able to avoid more than one surgery by listening and taking time to recover slowly. Where most doctors would have probably forced surgery to make the extra dollar. That being said Dr. A is also a great surgeon. He has operated on both of my daughters feet for an issue with her bone/tendons. He made sure she felt very comfortable throughout the process. He and his staff both called to check how she was once she was home and was only a call away to answer any questions. 3 Generations Helped! Dr. Ambrosino has helped my mom, who has scoliosis and was having trouble with her balance and knees hurting. My son was having ankle pain and both were helped by fittings for orthodic inserts. He lives in Chicago and walks a lot. The inserts have helped his ankle pain and sore feet. I had cuboid syndrome and lots of pain on the outside edge of my foot that wouldn't go away. Dr. Ambrosino adjusted the cuboid bone's placement and with follow up appointments my foot is completely better. After his analysis of my stride, I am getting fitted for orthodic inserts too. I've seen at least 6 Podiatrists over my 30 years of life, and Dr. Ambrosino is by far the best Physician I've encountered. Instead of merely treating the symptom of my problem, Dr. Ambrosino and his staff took a considerable amount of time to understand the history behind the recurring problems I've had with my feet. He identified a number of issues that I didn't even know I was suffering from, and he has developed a plan of action which will actually treat the cause of my ailments, and not the symptoms. The solutions are cost effective and non-invasive. Unlike the first person to review this Physician, I have had nothing but positive experiences with the entire staff - they are most certainly professional, and as someone in the medical garment industry, I can assure you that they are most definitely dressed appropriately for a Physician's office. While I hope to not have need of Dr. Ambosino's services again, should that need arise, I will not think twice regarding picking up the phone to call him. read more

I came to Dr Ambrosino with terrible warts on two toes and my instep on my left foot and two on my right foot (initially treated by my dermatologist). He did surgery on my left foot to remove all the warts. My husband was with me during the surgery in his office. The numbing of my foot was the only real pain I felt! My recovery took 8 weeks because of the depth of the surgery sites. He clearly explained how to bandage and care for my foot. I am amazed at how well I healed. I have confidence in Dr Ambrosino's knowledge and experience. My right foot is less serious so I am waiting until the end of August to have Dr Ambrosino perform this surgery as well. Dr Ambrosino takes time to explain what is going on. I have been sick for 3 years which meant a weakened immune system (warts came). I have reduced mobility. My husband saw Dr. Ambrosino for an issue and was very happy, but I wanted to leave a review for the fabulous experience I had dealing with the office and in particular with Shannon, the office manager. We had trouble getting our insurance to take care of the charges promptly, and there was some back and forth that resulted in confusing bills on our end. We paid the final amount so as to not have a delinquent bill even though I did not believe we owed it. But Shannon returned the payment to us and cleared the balance to zero as she couldn't confirm the status of the appeal with the insurance company. Came here with my mom because of foot pain caused by a bunion. He was very kind, patient and Very thorough. We went across the street (which was convenient) for the surgery. Very happy with the outcome. Still healing. I've been able to call the office with any additional questions or concerns and it's so nice feeling like I'm not a bother. In 10/16 I had bunion surgery on my right foot by a different dr in Concord. It did not heal right and the dr who did the surgery would not admit there was a problem. In 6/17 I went to Dr. Ambrosino to get a 2nd opinion. He did a very through exam and diagnosed the problem and outlined the treatment plan. Now in 10/17 I have finally recovered from the 10/16 surgery. His staff is very nice and professional. Dr. Ambrosino is very through and compassionate. He gives clear instructions on follow up. I have been seeing Dr. Ambrosino since October of 2015 for a workman's comp incident. He is one of, if not the best doctor I've had. He listened to me and knew exactly what was the issue and could pinpoint the cause of my foot problem. I required orthotics and he explained to me exactly what foot wear to purchase to accommodate my new orthotics. As well as I went through a series of cortisone shots, which he explained what to expect through the process. Unfortunately I required surgery to fix my foot problem, he was very though explaining the pros and cons in doing the surgery. I moved from the Bay Area back home to Reno, nv prior to having my surgery, to which I requested continuing my care with Dr. Ambrosino. I drive 3.5 hrs to see him. My surgery was a success, still in the healing phases and I will continue seeing him as long as he practices. His office staff are absolutely wonderful and they go above and beyond to ensure proper care and are very flexible and understanding, (the snow storms on I-80 2016-17 were Unpredictable). I don't know what the first reviewer is talking about but I had an awesome experience. I've had terrible pain in my Achilles Tendon since March and finally decided to get looked at. I was debating between a sports medicine person and a podiatrist; I decided to go with a podiatrist since my issue was exclusively my foot. At first, I thought their new patient health history thing was a bit too much/intrusive but now I understand that it's so they can figure out EXACTLY what your ailment is. The staff was very nice and professional. I got an evaluation, an x-ray, a corticosteroid shot, and was out in a little over an hour. I felt the doctor really cared about fixing my excruciating tendonitis and did an awesome job pinpointing the pain/inflamation. I hate needles and injections but he and the assistant made me feel comfortable and did an excellent job. They gave me a bunch of resources to help my foot heal (stretching, new shoe guide, etc.) and Dr. Ambrosino even called me the next day to see how everything was going. Overall, I had great experience and would recommend this office to anyone seeking relief from sports injuries, foot pain, etc. read more

I came here on a work related injury I torn my right tendon on my ankle I was like that for a whole year I was in and still are in physical therapy but oh boy once I started coming here I improved immensely. I receive shots, special shoes insoles, was told where to buy the special shoes I need it. And so on but from all the doctors I had been seen by I can honestly say that Doctor Ambrosino cares about you, and goes on and beyond to make sure you get the best care and treatment possible. Dr. Ambrosino deserved this review in 2009 when he performed surgeries on both my son's feet within a span of 6 months. I am glad that I am finally writing this. Dr. Ambrosino was referred by a friend, herself a doctor, who had taken her son to see him for his 'pigeon toe'. Prior to seeing Dr. Ambrosino in 2008, we had seen 2 other podiatrists in Walnut Creek who never discovered his problem. My son was having excessive pain on the bottom of his feet from the time he started playing soccer when he was 9. Both the other doctors had only advised to "cup" his feet, ice the feet and wear custom made orthotics. I remember the times I used to spend "cupping " his feet for practices and games. However, the pain never went away. One doctor even went to the extent of doing a MRI on both his feet and referred him to a rheumatologist who found nothing wrong with him and said the pain could be due to growth spur. If not for Dr.Ambrosino, my son will not be be able to go on his 20- mile hikes with his Boy Scout Troop or take part actively in sports today. From the first time he saw my son, he diagnosed the problem and told us in detail what was wrong with. He did say that we should have done the surgeries when he was younger. He had really flat feet and something had to be done to "put back" the arch on his feet. Otherwise, it would lead to adult deformities. He explained the procedure he was going to do and cleared whatever doubts we had. As a mom, I was really worried about the fact that a tiny foreign object was going to be put in both the ankles. My son was 14 when we did the surgery. It was so well done that there in not even a scar on both his ankles. He recovered well and within 3 months, was able to take part in sports again. My husband too is a patient of Dr.Ambrosino and sees him for problems with his feet. The staff are all very friendly and I have come to know them very well. Last but not least, they were very accomodating when it came to settling our medical bills. He was an out -of -network provider on our insurance and as such, we had to pay more. However, we were given the in- network discount. To tell the truth, we took a couple of months to settle the bills for both the surgeries but they were really patient. I have been coming to Dr. Ambrosino's office now for over 6 months and all that I have to say is that he is a godsend! Truly! His entire office is actually! Everyone is so welcoming and positive and so friendly! Ahn, Shannon, Jerika and Briana keep this office running in tip top shape and are always on top of everything! When I first came to see Dr. Ambrosino, I had constant back, knee, leg and foot pain. I mean, my pain was severe! From my first visit, Dr. Ambrosino was able to tell me what exactly was wrong with my feet that was causing my pain and also provided a solution on how to resolve my pain. After this visit I was fitted for orthopedics to help with my Flintstones flat feet. At first I wasn't wearing them as he prescribed and he caught on quick and made sure to let me know that I would not be feeling any difference if I was not doing what he said to do. Which thank God he said to me because since then, I have been wearing them as prescribed and I cannot tell you how much better I feel. When I was a patient of Dr.Ambrosino I was pressured weekly by him to write a Yelp review. It was awful. But not as awful as the PERMANENT DAMAGE Dr. Ambrosino did to my foot. I found out from other podiatrists that the method Dr. Ambrosino used was not in my best interest...but put a lot of money in his pocket and left my foot disabled. Ask around before you let him inject you with alcohol because other doctors were shocked that I was injected so many times (these were excruciatingly painful and unnecessary but very expensive). I highly question these other reviews wondering how many of these were honest or under the watchful eye of this doctor. The only nice thing to know about choosing this doctor is now I get handicapped parking and so may you! read more

I am a diabetic and there are not enough adjectives in the English language to express the high regard I have for this individual and the work that he does. I met him the first of the year, at a time when my feet were in such a poor condition that the Dr seriously considered sending me immediately to the hospital across the street but delayed it until he could get a better evaluation of how I was going to respond to his treatments (Which, by the way, saved me thousands of dollars of medical bills that would have been associated with being in the hospital). When I first entered the exam room, the Dr had an assistant that had a computer profile of me to which the DR had them add his medical comments. This practice of detailing the condition of each one of my ulcers, from measuring the size, condition and a whole lot of other medical jargon, which he meticulously has updated with each visit. I have been to numerous Podiatrists over my lifetime and have never been given the attention and the professional guidance that Dr. Ambrosino has provided me over these last six months. His staff are the most caring and attentive people that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. ANYBODY with any type of foot issues owes it to themselves to make an appointment with Dr. Ambrosino and experience on a first hand basis the QUALITY, KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE that the good Dr. can provide you. FINALLY! Relief at last. Let me start my review by saying I have NEVER been to a doctor's appointment where every time I have an appointment, I am taken to the exam room within two minutes of arrival. Rarely with most doctors am I greeted with a handshake, a smile, and eye contact asking me "How am I doing today?". For every visit. That's the kind of doctor you'll be getting, and the staff is equally friendly and efficient. The majority of appointments I've had are quick. Usually 15 minutes or less. Don't take this as a bad sign that Dr. Ambrosino doesn't spend time, or answer questions. He does! But he and his team are extremely organized and professional. Imagine how our busy lives would change if all businesses were this efficient! I originally went to Dr. Ambrosino because I was experiencing a lot of intermittent pain in my heels. I tried to tough it out, but after three months of constant pain, I made an appointment to find out what the heck was going on. When I described my symptoms, Dr. Ambrosino correctly diagnosed my problem before the staff even took x-rays. I had the common, but dreaded, plantar fasciitis. We started with injections in one heel (where I learned I could actually sing opera as shots were administered as I stifled outright screams!), and I went home with doctor's orders to ice several times daily for 30 minutes, do specific calf stretches daily, and was given direction to NOT walk without shoes. That was several years ago, but I think I had to do that for about two weeks, then I returned for a second round of shots. As you can probably imagine, I was not looking forward to having more shots, but the doctor assured me the first time hurt so much because I was very inflamed internally in the heel area. As I shut my eyes when the needle was directed towards my heel, I was pleasantly surprised that it did not hurt nearly as much as the first time! I think it was another three weeks before I went for my final round of shots. That round hurt less that the first two, but were necessary to complete the treatment. From there everything was great, then the other heel started acting up, and I had to go through the same process as above. The pain subsided for a couple of months, and then returned with a vengeance. I ended up going back to Dr. Ambrosino, where he recommended custom orthotics to wear inside my shoes. They relieved a lot of the pain, and I continued to stretch and ice which worked up to a point for several years. But the bottom line is I am a walker. I love to go shopping for hours on end, and go on vacations where you do a lot of walking to see a lot of things. My maximum time for walking was about two hours before the pain in my heels would begin. This happened even though I was using the orthotics and high-end walking tennis shoes. To relieve the internal inflation, I would ice for 30 minutes, three to four times a day, for the next four days. The pain would finally recede. Frankly I was tired of it, and went to the doctor to find out what could be done. He told me there was a relatively simple plantar fasciitis surgery that could be done. I did my due diligence and researched the surgery, read statistics on success rates, and decided to move forward with it. Boy, am I glad I did! There was some pain for several days (you'll get really good pain medication to help), and you have to do a lot of icing and elevating of your foot for six weeks, but the relief was evident by the end of the third week. For the first time in years, I actually had no pain at night when I slept. No sharp pains in my heel, or arch, like someone was stabbing my heel with a knife via a voodoo doll of me! I had gotten so used to the pain that it was just something I learned to deal with and I had forgotten what is was like to feel no pain. I scheduled the second foot surgery eight days after I hit the six week recovery period from my first foot (you cannot do both at the same time). Yesterday I completed the six week recovery period on my second foot, and I have to tell you I have no regrets. While I still have a sharp pain now and again, Dr. Ambrosino tells me it's normal. It could take up a year to completely heal, and I may have to do one round of shots in each foot as well. Additionally, I still have to pay attention to how my feet feels, and start walking slowly. But in the end, it was so worth it. I highly recommend going to Dr. Ambrosino for whatever ails you and your feet. For me, relief has finally come! read more

My husband has been working 30 years on concrete floors and was in so much pain he could not even walk through the store when we would shop. Now he is walking faster than me, Dr. Ambrosino listened to his complaints tried excercises and when that didn't work he did surgery to relieve the pain. His knowledge figured out his problem and fixed it!!! what more do we ask for in our doctors when we are injured or sick....his still has appointments that I go with my husband and feel as welcome as he is. the office is very professional but I do not feel uncomfortable bringing my 3 year old granddaughter to the appointments as there is not a long wait and he welcomes her everytime like an old friend. the staff is awesome tooo....always polite and welcoming. read more

I believe they are on the correct path to repair damage done by previous staff. I'm pleased with the actual medical procedures. Dr. Ambrosino and his staff are all very professional. This is a business that sees a lot of people with foot problems and is very well-established. The building/office and exam rooms are a little on the old side but are certainly more than adequate. Ambrosino seems to have a pretty good reputation and makes quality orthotics. Would definitely return to this office. Be advised though that they do schedule you for many follow up appointments (that are 10 minutes each) that add up if you have a high co-pay / deductible or are paying out-of-pocket. So ask up front how many visits will be required for your treatment so you know what to expect financially. Ambrosino has recommended that I consider both Cortizone shots and the alcohol sclerosing shots for my neuromas, but so far I am not convinced that I must go either of these routes. But if and when I do, I will go back to Dr. Ambrosino! read more

Dr. Ambrosino provided tremendous care for a complicated problem with my big toe. Everything about my experience with him and his office staff has been excellent. He is knowledgeable and caring, thorough and has a great "bedside manner". When I made my first call to his office, I was in great distress and they managed to fit me in that afternoon. I am always treated with warmth and respect. They are organized and punctual and provide a written instructions in addition to giving a verbal care plan. It seems like the staff like and respect the doctor and each other. There is a nice atmosphere to the office. I've been Dr. Ambrosino's patient for the last year. At my first appointment I was in considerable pain. I was born with a congenital foot defect, with mostly unremarkable symptoms until I started to get older. Then the pain came. I have had two torn tendon surgeries done by another doctor, and a new tear in the same place. Dr. Ambrosino wanted to try other options before we go to surgery. So I had an MRI, custom foot orthotics were made, and I was given steroid injections into the site of the torn tendon.
