I would give zero star if possible. To begin with, the office called me twenty times to make sure I would go to the scheduled appointment even though I had already confirmed with them twice. The front desk was also rude and put random code for billing. I paid $20 extra because they did not bill properly. The whole procedure was so off. The exam was interrupted multiple times and it took them 3 hours to do the comprehensive eye exams. Avoid if possible. read more

Dr. Corvese really takes the time to listen to my needs and adjusts his recommendations based on my input. He's the best eye doctor I have ever had, and I've been wearing glasses since 2nd grade!!! There might sometimes be a long wait but to me it's worth it for quality. A++++++ read more

I had me. My first visit as a new patient. The ladies at the front desk were very helpful with checking in and checking out. The nursing assistant was great running all the test that was needed for my eyes prior seeing my doctor. She was very good at her job. My Doctor was great. Didn't wait long at all. Even after my eyes dilated,didn't wait long at long. Even had a moment to look at the display for the frames for my new glasses. Can't wait for them. read more

It was easy to schedule an appointment. The staff I interacted with were friendly and nice. I have never had to call back to confirm an appointment before - which I did to be sure they didn't cancel it. It stinks that they have to ask for this because they have experienced so many people no-showing for appointments. Dr. Corvese was nice and spent time with my eye exam, especially given my status as a new patient. They did not have enough of the specific contact lens Rx that I needed, so it was ordered for me and shipped directly to my house. So there was no need to go back to pick them up -- I SO appreciate this. read more

Came in and was asked to wait. After waiting for 10 minutes standing on their lobby (from desk lady was not even polite enough to tell me to take a seat), the lady asked me that she has an appointment that she needs to go and won't be able to take care of me. read more

My experience calls for a two part review, one for the medical staff and the second for the front end personell. On my original call the front and staff was eager to take my information and check the insurance verifications. I had multiple insurance is which in the vision world you can stack. I asked if they were stackable and they said they could definitely coordinate benefits. Seeing as though they accepted both Davis vision and VSP this was a benefit of my own knowing that I could get my glasses for very inexpensively. After arriving and picking out a pair of glasses I was then told that not only could I not coordinate my benefits but that they would also not honor my 20% off any additional costs over what the insurance package coverage. With that being said this is a company who is contracted with the insurance provider and therefore has entered into an agreement in which they will follow the insurances contracts. After explaining this to the eyeglass specialist he began to point out a sign at the front of the store by the reception desk that stated a Rhode Island law that protected them from honoring my 20% off. He went on to tell me that every pair of glasses in the store was already reduced by 20% prior to me walking in the door and every single customer got that 20% off. I quickly called b******* and made an excuse to leave so that I could call the insurance companies. After speaking with the insurance companies they both verify the information I have given them and both agreed with the things I have said. The only exception being that there was a law passed this year that did protect Rhode Island eyeglass sellers. Upon calling the store again to discuss well that's what the office manager she was less than happy to hear from me again. After telling her I disagreed with their policies she continue to point out all the reasons I was wrong. I went on to point out that her receptionist had told me that they could coordinate benefits when I called originally and her response to me was "My receptionist was correct when she told you we took both insurances, but we cannot coordinate benefits." When I questioned her as to why they would take my insurance but refused my benefits and not point out that they did not honor the 20% off... she continued to say that the Rhode Island law is set to protect the eye glass company and that they don't specifically point this out to the patients until the point of sale. She went on to exclaim that she had done EVERYTHING that she could for me (which was nothing) and that shed be happy to put our perscriptions in the mail. She finished by wispering something in Korean or Cambodian and hanging up. As for the doctor himself Dr.Covorse and his practice are some of the best in the state. I highly recommend his team of optometrist. The particular Dr we had was young and very kind- he was honest and through. The technician was sweet and engaged in conversation. Doc was a patriots fan and he and my husband discussed Sundays game. To give advice I would say get your exam what the doctors whom are excellent, and take your prescription and run. read more

My family of four has been going here for a couple of years now and every time have to deal with a very unpleasant and rude girl working at the front desk who will do anything to make you miss your appointment so they can collect a heavy fee if you miss. What I mean by that is i made three appointments on day before thanksgiving due to a very busy day I forgot. Front desk girl called as a reminder but after my last appointment was up and to let me know that I was going to be charge a cancellation fee. Her attitude and unfriendly tone ruin my day. She had the nerve to asked if I'd like to make another appointment.(I declined and we'll never be back), Other then the unprofessional girl at the front desk the doctors are very nice and professional that I will miss. read more

Like a few of the other reviews, my review is a 2 part review. Absolutely loved Dr. Corvese on Atwood Ave in Johnston. That is the only nice thing I have to say. I had my only appointment with this office and ordered contact lenses. I was told it would be within the week and they would call when they came in. This was on Dec 22. After not hearing from them I called back the 2nd week of January. They put me on hold and 2 different receptionists picked up at different times asking me my information both times. Then said " they were waiting for a box of my lenses that were on back order" but MIRACULOUSLY would be delivered within 48 hours. It is now 3 weeks later and I still have not heard from them. At least admit you never placed my order in the first place instead of clearly lying to me! Since I'm still waiting, I have decided to take my prescription elsewhere. read more

I hate what places like this do. I have had the same prescription for 20 years and they see me once a year at a cost of $100 for the check up to tell me my prescription remains the same. I have always just paid cash. I decided to obtain Eye Care coverage at work and funny how the minute I told them I had coverage the doctor states he saw some possible problem in my eyes and needed more testing. Well there was nothing wrong with my eyes.... but they I'm sure charged the insurance a pretty penny. Then had me refitted for contacts with the same prescription and type of contact lol, surprise surprise the same prescription I have had for at least 20 years. you know I get it, fine they can take insurance money insurance companies have cash but the problem I have with it is that it wastes my time!!! my time is valuable and I personally lose out on income to go sit at their office so they can milk my insurance. Guess I'm cancelling eye care coverage again to avoid the hassle next year read more

Place is a rip off ! Especially doctor c .Had an erelash in my eye and couldnt get it out. Doctor got it out in 5 minutles, sent bill to insurance charging 300 and told them i had a deductable. Insurance didnt pay a dime. They reduce bill to 120. Wow! I did call one of there other offices before i went to this location cause i usally go to smith street and doctor there wasnt avalible that day, and said bill shoulg be 30 to 40 buck. Thank good i didnt go back for follow up, might be 1000. Think that doctor should have been a lawyer! oh well they will never see me again or none of my kids on my policy read more
