I'll preface this review by saying I have never, in my life, left a one star review for a company that I haven't been a patron of or utilized the service of. It's not my nature and it's not a fair practice. That being said, I think this situation warrants it. Like other reviewers below, I purchased a Groupon this past Friday 3/22/19 - for a 3 bedroom, 1 hallway carpet cleaning. I left a pleasant voicemail requesting an appointment and asking for a call back. I never received any call so I called today to follow up and the owner, Mike, answered the phone and told me that he had received my message and others, but would not be honoring the Groupon vouchers. He said they were priced too low, Groupon wasn't accommodating his request to price them higher, he was having financial difficulties and was "making decisions" and was therefore not honoring the vouchers and would be cancelling his Groupon contract. I must have paused or expressed some hesitancy at this point because he started to ask questions about my building; whether it's a ground floor, whether there's parking, whether there's an elevator, etc. I informed him of the details and he immediately tried to upcharge me an additional $75 dollars for living on the fourth floor and needing to use a portable steam cleaner. Had I lived on the third floor it would have been an additional $50. When I stated that I would rather not have to pay additional money outside of what I already paid, and would just take him up on his offer to cancel, he said "You and everybody else" and abruptly hung up on me. Now, playing devils advocate here, I can understand if there is something wrong with the Groupon service. If he unintentionally priced too low or decided later on that he was losing money because of the price he set - fine. I understand that and I don't resent anyone for wanting to make a living. What I *do* resent is being greeted with a bad attitude, discussion of financial woes (not even a hello, how are you, thanks for calling again), and someone trying to take advantage of me. To be clear, I purchased a 3 room, 1 hallway cleaning - up to 300 square foot per room. I was requesting my living/dining area to be cleaned (which is one open room of about 300 square feet), 1/2 of a bedroom (not even 100 square feet, as more than 2/3 of the room is filled by my oversize bed and dresser) and the entryway carpet. It's not even three full rooms plus a hallway. Had Mike let me speak before going on his diatribe, we perhaps could have come to an agreement. Instead, his poor attitude, rude telephone manners, and overall demeanor lead me to believe that you're better off not letting someone like this into your house. If you can't even be trusted to speak on the phone with courtesy - how can you be trusted to be in someone's intimate dwellings? I'm currently working with Groupon to received a refund for what I paid and I'll just stick with doing it myself or hiring someone who doesn't have a chip the size of Connecticut sitting on their shoulder. read more

Mike from Enviroclean was an hour late to his next appointment because he arrived an hour late to our appointment. He did not spend the amount of time required even though he charged us for this time. He confessed to me he was late for personal reasons. His lack of time and attention was reflected in the poor quality of the work. He achieved 0% success in removing any spot or stain of different materials, subject matters from different periods of time. I stand by my comments. AVOID this company and save yourself the hassle. read more

Mike did a very professional job cleaning our carpeting including getting our several serious stains. We were impressed with how he set up his equipment and proceeded to work his magic. Extremely unprofessional as well as fraudulent business practices! I needed to have my light colored carpeting cleaned and thought I would check if groupon offered any deals. I found a promotion by a company that services my area and purchased it. I called to book an appointment for the following Monday. I had no idea what I was getting myself into and was looking forward to coming home to freshly cleaned rugs! Instead I get a call from Mike Moon, the owner, confused about where to go and what my address was again. He must have been flustered because the next I heard from him he immediately questioned if someone was going to answer the door since he had been waiting outside for ten minutes. Immediately I knew he was lying since I had just hung up with the doorman downstairs who called me to tell me he had just arrived and if it was ok to let him up. I got such a bad feeling from this man and called him back up to say "on second thought, I have decided not to use your services, thank you and good bye". He callws me back and left a voicemail that I did not even have a chance to listens to before I received a text message and a photo of the invoice he claimed I owed him. He told me that I'm addition to having already redeemed my voucher that it was my responsibility to pay additional cancellation fees for "wasting his time" and to "read the fine print that I had groupon put into my contract". I told him that I didn't have a problem with being charged "up to the full voucher amount" however that was the extent of what I owed him and at this point just wanted him to go away. Obviously I did not want him in my house and was right about him as he became eve more aggressive and creepy! When I told him he already received payment From me as he collected payment for services in full, he said "it's my company and I can charge whatever I want" and said its fine I will just have a collections agency harass you and will be a "thorn in your side". He even went so far as to comment on my "palace apartment" and how impractical it was to pay that kind of rent and let me know that he owned his very expensive home mortgage free so obviously he was a successful business man. Needless to say, all I wanted was either an apology for his rudeness or to leave me alone but instead I got all of that! I am totally freaked out!!! read more

I received a living social voucher, and set up an appointment for weeks in advance. The appointment was for 9:30am. I had to arrange for doggy daycare and for someone to be at my house for the carpets to get cleaned. During my lunch break, I noticed that the friend who was at my house said that Mike Moon didn't come. I checked and there was a voicemail and a missed call from 8:15am. Mike said that due to what was going on with Metro North, he wouldn't make it to my house. That was an hour and 45 minutes before he had to be there, and if he took back roads it would only have taken 45 minutes, 50 tops. I left him a voicemail, voicing my disappointment with his service. Quite honestly, the Metro North debacle was going on for a few days, and he should have at least given 24 hours notice. When he called back he was extremely rude. The following are examples of the lack of professionalism he exudes: "I got your voicemail and heard your whole life story". "Because you were a coupon customer you're not going to be a repeat customer anyway" "Go hire Stanley Steamer and get some guy jacked up on steroids. He'll come in, charge you $160 for 8 min of work. I hope he goes and ruins your grout and countertops and then see how you like it" "I'm not coming all the way to Danbury for one person for a coupon service. You need to be flexible". "Call Livingsocial and ask for a discount". He also wouldn't let me speak, talked right over me. I have never encountered such a lack of professionalism, and most certainly will not refer. read more

This is how they treat disgruntled customers, I would have been happy with a refund or even an apology. They are rude and are harassing me. I cannot stress how completely unprofessional this business owner was from the first phone call to when I asked him to leave my house. During the phone call he did not insist but required that I stand outside to await his arrival because he did not want me to waste his time. I purchased his service from a Groupon and as other customers have posted in reviews, he does not believe that these customers will use his services again so they are useless. After arriving he inspected my carpet while making snide comments about how dirty they were and how my expectations better not be very high. He complained that the stairs to reach my apartment would break his back and how he expected that my boyfriend would be here not myself. Finally he required that I pay an extra amount for his fuel, and that is when I told him that I would no longer use his services. His response? An attitude and driving over my lawn as he exited my driveway. read more

I read the other reviews on this site and they were the same experience as mine. Its unfortunate that a business owner would not want to provide good service and gain word of mouth. Instead he yells at and harasses clients who have paid him. I am insulted reading that people who use vouchers are horrible customers. I disagree, people use them to be introduced to new companies. The way he treated my babysitter, myself and my husband warrants a complaint - not to mention the fact that WORK WAS NOT COMPLETE. The chair that we paid extra to have done was not clean, and repeated calls were unanswered to see if he would finish the job. Stay far away.. I'm sure I will get an answer on this from him too, that he did not do the job on my house, if so, its not true. I have the receipt and records of his phone calls which prove he only spent 15 min cleaning two rugs and a chair. Ordered through Living Social. I put my zip code in and it said that Enviroclean would service my area, so I then purchased the voucher. I called Mike, and he was extremely rude from the moment he picked up the phone. He said " I will not go all the way to your town for only 1 customer. I do not clean area rugs! I'm not dealing with Living Social anymore, and you are going to have to call them to get your money back"! I explained to him that I did put my zip code in and it said they serviced my area, he didn't care. I have wall to wall carpeting and some area rugs and I have never heard a carpet cleaner say that he would not clean an area rugs. My advice...find someone else. Mike was was awful to talk to on the phone, I have never experienced such poor customer service. Maybe he should take some anger management classes and cancel his deal with Living Social.
