After all the exam and tests and whatnot was told I'd be given some trial lenses to work with and learn with and I would get a call in a few days to see how I was doing and to let me know when my lenses would arrive. The woman that was to help me with my trial lenses was rude and not helpful at all. I had to find out from a co-worker that they could be inside out... and then my wife showed me how to tell!! Well, I got 2 different strengths on the trial lenses which was tough to adjust to, and I got 7 lenses and told to throw them away at the end of each day. Okay, 7 lenses are not going to last very long especially when I have 2 eyes and that equates to 3 days and one left over! This was all on the 6th of January, it is now the 20th!! No calls, no lenses!! I have called and called...no answer and left a message asking for some answers... nothing!!

Good service, terrible glasses…read more Use of anything but Bellevue Vision clinic's "special" cleaning fluid ruins the lens due to the fact that they are made from cheap plastic. (Note cleaner used has worked fine with every other pair of glasses ever owned). Also opted for the add-on of magnetic pop on/off sunglasses. They are convenient, but the magnets are well within the field of vision. When complained about the issue was told there was nothing to do but perhaps let the manufacturer know. Finally, despite several visits for re-adjustments they still fit poorly. Back to old glasses. Waste of time and money. If you proceed anyway: Be VERY careful on your selection and stock up on the "magic" cleaner.

I met McKenzie by running into her shop ten minutes before closing time, racing over after work to get my broken glasses repaired. i was fully prepared to pay the repair fee posted on the website- she insisted it wasn't that big of a fix and wanted to do it for free. When I insisted on paying, she charged me $3. I have gone back several times for glasses fittings and repairs and she never charges. Most recently I came in with a bunch of glasses to see how different they were from the new script I received from the eye doctor . She so kindly tested every single one. I was prepared to finally pay her for her kindness by buying a pair of sunglasses or at least sunglass lenses, and she acted with the most integrity I have seen from a business owner in ages. She said that despite none of the prescriptions being the exact same there was one pair of sunglasses that were close enough that for sunglasses which are more forgiving I wouldn't notice a difference and that if she were me she wouldn't bother buying new ones. She absolutely could have sold me a pair of sunglasses- it was again right at closing time and instead she helped me out and did not charge a penny. I don't know how she stays in business but I am so glad she is. I think its worth the cost to go somewhere that is doing it right. The prices are high because her costs are high- she has what is likely a razor thin margin. Unfortunately because she does not have an optometrist or ophthalmologist on staff she can't bill insurance, but for those without vision insurance or looking for an extra pair etc- I would highly recommend Capital Eyes/ McKenzie and her adorable shop puppy. 10/10 service, a decent selection and she is so great at making recommendations (she had customers buying glasses the last time I went in so I got to watch her in action).

When I went to pick out my frames, my better half was not with me, and I typically always ask for her approval on something I liked. So, I went off the recommendation of the employee helping me (didn't grab his name). I tried several pairs on, and he said there was one that popped. Which was good because I liked it, but wasn't too sure. He said it was a a perfect fit and style for my noggin... so I went with it. Of course got all the upgrades, and let me tell you... Overall great experience at Oliver Peoples at the Bravern. I had worn OP frames years ago before…read morethey had standalone stores and even 20 years ago, they were stylish and used high quality materials. Sure, places like Warby Parker may have much cheaper frames, but looking at acetate frames, the quality and details of an OP frame will be much higher. The standalone stores have a great selection of frames, and Amy, the associate was helpful and patient with frame selection. I splurged on a pair of prescription sunglasses which turned out very well. While the prices may seem high, they do have sales and while they did not accept my vision insurance, they also provided discounts which made the pricing very attractive. I don't see OP as often at optometrist offices anymore, so it's worth stopping by when shopping for new specs.

I later discovered that my prescription had expired and it will be two months before I can see my ophthalmologist. I contacted the store right away to cancel the order, but they refused, citing a questionable "cancellation policy." Corporate customer service has been equally unhelpful -- they can't even locate my order, despite my credit card being charged. As of now, I have received no refund and no resolution. This experience has been deeply disappointing. Unless they correct this and issue a refund, I'll be sharing my experience across every relevant consumer and review platform to warn others.

Very long story short, they had zero contacts at their office for me to try. Each time had to order them. So, if you want contacts be prepared to wait. Once I decided on a pair, the prescription was wrong. I don't even know at this rate if I have the right prescription. Called to order contacts and got the confirmation a week later that they were ordered. Why it took so long? Idk. That certainly put the nail in the coffin.
