We had a big move ahead of us and I was trying to get preparations in order, including getting a hitch installed to our SUV so that we could pull a trailer for the move. I called and asked for a quote and they gave me one with or without parts in case I wanted to supply the hitch myself. I appreciated that and decided to order a hitch separately to save a little money. When I took it in for my appointment (baby with me waiting the entire time) everything went fine and I was out of there in a little over an hour. Flash forward a few days to when it's time for my husband to pick up the Uhaul trailer... they say we can't actually pick it up because we didn't have any of the necessary electrical wiring to hook up the trailer lights for brakes/hazards. Duh! Why didn't I think of that? Maybe because I'm a new mom with a baby and a big move and a lot going on. More importantly, why didn't anyone at Karch think to even ask about wiring? Who tows a trailer without hooking it up to electrical so you can use brake lights? I think I expected an establishment like theirs to be a little more helpful and at least mention it as a "hey, will you want any wiring for that?". After all, they do that with nearly every other service they provide. Pretty disappointed but the move has now been completed (after my husband had to drive over an hour one way to another place to get same day wiring done) and I am looking forward to finding a new auto shop to use instead of Karch.

I took my car in for minor paint touch up on one bumper. My repair was estimated to be completed…read morein 3 days. At the end of 3 days, I had to call and wait on hold for 10 minutes to find out that it wasn't complete and "might" be done tomorrow. The next day, I called again after not hearing from them, to be told it still wasn't done but again "might" be done tomorrow. Finally, on the 5th day, my car was finally done. Every phone contact I had with them, I was treated like I was frustrating them by calling in to check when my car would be done, even though it was past the estimate. The resulting paint job was ok, with a small blemish in the new paint. The bigger issue, however, was that there were new scratches on the back of the car that weren't there before I took it in. I plan to pursue this, but am so far unsatisfied with both the customer service and outcome.

I called my insurance company before calling GW - who was recommended by my insurance company! So, my insurance company refers me to GW and GW states that the insurance company needs to do the estimate. When I explained, she stated, "estimates are $100.00." So, which is it - they don't do estimates for my insurance company OR they do them and charge for them OR ???????????? Don't waste your time nor be treated rudely by this company. We worked with both Jim Sr. and Jim Jr. on a title transfer for a vehicle that was purchased out of…read morestate. That transaction turned out to be much more complicated than expected because the seller provided inaccurate and incomplete paperwork. Both Sr. and Jr. were patient and professional. Because of their experience, they were able to unravel the issue and resolve it. Lohr's probably invested 3-4 hours on our title transaction and charged us a very fair and honest price for all their work and their expertise. More recently, we were closing on a property sale and needed to have some documents notarized. We actually took the documents to another Notary first. After watching my wife and I spend about an hour reviewing 240 pages of documents to make sure everything was in order, the Notary finally mentioned their price, which was $15 per notarization. In the end, this transaction would have cost us almost $200 for their services. I remembered Lohr's and called them on my cell phone. Jim Jr. picked up. He let me know they had closed for the day, but even so, he asked about our situation. I explained we had a very short window to have the documents notarized and then delivered overnight. He probably recognized the stress in my voice. Without hesitation, he offered to drive back to their office and open just for my wife and I to get our documents notarized. When we walked in, I noticed the engraved sign on the counter, detailing all their fees for various services. As Jim Jr. worked through the documents carefully, he pointed out several missing initials, which we then corrected. He explained the entire process and his fees, even though they were clearly posted. He was thorough, courteous and respectful of our time constraints. When it came time to figure the bill, Jim Jr. charged us a flat fee for all of the work, rather than a per document fee. He explained that the 'per document' fee makes sense when a customer has only a few documents to be notarized. However, he recognized that because our two documents included 6 notarizations each, that it would be fairer to charge a flat fee rather than per document. He wouldn't have had to do that. Honestly, at that point my wife and I were so grateful that he was willing notarize the documents on our very tight timetable, that we would have gladly paid the higher fee. In the end, we paid less than half of what we would have been charged at the other place, even though the personal service we received was 10x greater. In this day and age, customer service is almost non-existent. It is rare to find a business of any size that is truly willing to put the customer experience ahead of everything else. Lohr's certainly did that and more. They take a personal interest in their customers and that made all the difference to us. We are customers for life and greatly appreciate the honesty and integrity of both Jim Sr. and Jim Jr.

I had vehicle trouble on a Saturday when most other shops were closed and very few were doing any…read morework on vehicles. Since I was in town only for the day, I needed help and Lohr's stood up and took care of it for me even though it was outside their normal practices. The operation was well run, friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend this garage to anyone that needs work on their vehicle. Its always nice to see a local small business that values people.
