He's the most honest and straight forward mechanic you could ask for. One of my car's issues was with its computer, even though part of the repair went beyond this shops capabilities they still stayed in touch, recommending a car dealer and ensuring the proper repair was accomplished. They charge by the hour and do a great job at keeping you updated on the car's status. I don't plan on going to any other repair shop after working with these guys.

He had it for 2+ weeks. When I went to check on it, he said he replaced the spark plugs, mass air flow sensor, replaced a bolt in the turbo and added oil, for a cost of $509 (negotiated down from $700) and he also acknowledged it did not make it run any better. Then he proceeded to tell me he thinks the turbo is going bad (mind you the turbo does nothing at idle speed). He never hooked it to a computer or checked the codes. I then had it towed back home. I ordered a PCV valve ($52 from FCP Euro) and vacuum pump gasket ($12, my suspected oil leak location). Replacing the two parts took me 3-4 hours in my garage. It has been 1 month and over 500 miles since the repair. No issues. Pretty disappointed that i spent $250 in towing, and over $500 in repairs for them to do shade tree mechanic diagnosis and repair. Also, when the car arrived back at my house the interior was filthy. The car had a tan/beige interior and the front seat and dash had oil and dirt stains all over them. DO NOT GO THERE.

Many folks at Rahal gave us helpful advice, finding options that wouldn't work, suggesting others, and on and on. They eventually recommended a NOCO Battery Maintainer. Unfortunately, we are not handy and couldn't figure out how to install it. So we dropped by and they quickly put it in for us. During at least four visits, Rahal Staff spent quite a bit of time trying to help us, not even counting email and phone messages and research they may have done. In addition, they gave us a new battery and even washed our poor car one time. But they NEVER CHARGED US A PENNY for materials or labor . . . WOW! They are Experts at nurturing dedicated, enthusiastic customers rather than "nickel-and-diming" them for a little bit of money on each visit. Instead, they were honest with me and told me that the brakes looked great. They even took off the brake inspection charge after I paid for my anti-freeze to be flushed and replaced. In the morning I googled auto repair and headed to Fouty Chalfa. I explained the misfire I was experiencing, chugging (like water in gas) and told them how far away I was. He said he would read the codes (I will always bring mine with next time) and see what it said. It came back with a "misfire" (plug, wire or coil) and cam position sensor. The owner stated either one could of tripped the other and he wouldn't know until he changed a part to see if it fixed it or not. He recommended the cam sensor first, I agreed as I had changed th cap rotor wires and plugs 15k earlier. He said he could get one and it would be $115. I really wasn't in a position to bargain shop lol so I said go ahead and get it done, they had it installed in about 40 minutes and I was on the road home soon after. When I went to pay, I wasn't sure if labor was included (I know how much a cam sensor is for a caravan) when he shot me a he price. I was pleasantly surprised that the $115 was parts and labor. He made a few bucks on the part (as all shops charge exuberant prices on parts, I usually do all my own work) but was more than fair. In all they did a great job, highly recommend.

Nick had previously resealed the transmission pan on my Subaru (it was leaking before when I had tried to seal it myself with an anaerobic sealant). So he fixed it, but it started leaking again. It's a known flawed design from Subaru (the pan doesn't use a gasket but just mates metal to metal) and so it's a common issue with subarus. Anyway, Josh tried to gaslight me and tell me that the leak was actually coming from the output shaft seal because "the wind was pushing the oil leak down and making it look like the pan was leaking." In reality, he just didn't want to redo the repair because it would cost him time x money on his own dime + expensive CVT fluid. He thought he could just gaslight me about what was happening as a solo female and I'd just pay up. Well, I didn't take his bs bait. This is exactly why I started doing my own repairs on my car because you can't trust these dudes. At the very least, Josh could've tried to work with me instead of starting an argument, like say "I can see why you'd think that and we can repair xyz at discounted rate and if the transmission pan is still leaking then we'll replace that on the house." You're not very good with zero customer service skills.
