We had booked to rent a vehicle for a trip to Ohio, with a pick up scheduled the day before the trip. We showed up and were helped by a gentleman named Dalton. We went to pay for the rental, and he explained that because my bank card did not match my driver's ID, they couldn't accept it. I get it, rules are rules. We don't have credit cards, so my fiance pulled out all of her cards to see what they could accept. He saw one and told us "that would work". So we spent the next few minutes trying to move money around on accounts. We had trouble going from account to account, so I said forget it, let's just send it through cashapp and take the $15 charge. The trip was tomorrow and we just wanted to get it done. So we moved the money using cashapp and spent the $15 to move the money. Then we wait. Dalton and the other gentleman that was working there had stepped out (vehicle checks I think). They were gone for 30-45 minutes (my fiance says probably closer to 45 min). During this time, the lobby started filling up. Dalton finally came back in, handed us the keys, then ran our card. "It's coming back denied. We can't accept this type of card". He then demanded the keys back from my fiance. I'm kind of dumbfounded, as he said that card would work. Now my negative feelings of this interaction are not from the fact that he had rules to follow. My issue is, that if I knew the card didn't work, I would have called around and got something to work. I have friends and family that could have came out and helped possibly during our wait. It was now past 5 pm, with no chance to go get my ID fixed, or set my fiance up with an acceptable card, or phone a friend. Absolutely no options. We were now out on getting a rental for our trip at past 5pm before the morning we are leaving. I will admit that it took us maybe 10 minutes to work on getting our money moved, and he did check in on us once during that time, but then it was crickets for about 45 minutes. After going through this, being demanded the keys back like my fiance was a thug, and then shoeing us out like cattle, I will be posting this on my local Facebook. And having worked for Taney County for 13 years and having lived here for 48, I will tell all family and friends to avoid this place. That is a lot of locals. Very unprofessional and I felt like an idiot after pretty much being told "next" and being shoed out. I even confronted him before leaving and his story changed to "I said that I would run it and see", which was NOT the case, as my fiance also heard differently and I would have been using our time to secure what was needed due to the time. Not at all impressed.

But the big problem happened when we went to drop it off a day early and found that no one was at the office location, the door was locked and a paper on the door sharing to call a number for help but I called the number 27 times and never got an answer, call back, or any assistance. Found I was not able to get any help with the Chat option either as they were just a call center that could not help other than just try to pass it along to supervisors but that still was not a person that could address no one at the office location, no drop off box, or any person that could be gotten in touch with to remedy this issue. Took a stab to contact a Springfield MO office and spoke with Kailtyn and she was great she was able to help me by confirming that if we were late she would help remove the charges and that her Branch Manager would be at the Monett MO office location the next day when it opened. Here as hoping that was true and it was as we were so happy to see the Branch Manager there before 8 AM and they opened the door promptly and he was very friendly and helpful. We thank very much the Springfield MO Campbell St location Kailtyn and her Branch Manager for helping us and we hope they are around to help others as they did a wonderful job helping in a touch situation. Conveniently located to Branson. I drove my motorhome up and needed a car for a few days. This Avis was convenient, employees were friendly and professional, and the car was great. As for the person complaining about a deposit, you've obviously never rented a car before or anything for that matter. In life, when you're renting someone else's stuff, expect to pay a deposit.

But they said the payment was. $139 it would only go up if I change the reservation. So I said no thank you I will try someplace else I turned around to walk out. The horrible attitude, sarcastic behavior, disrespect, the threatening attitude I saw that they displayed was worrisome. I would look to another car rental before going to Hollister, Mo. Airport location. Personnel all the way to management was poor. "The gentleman in the garage apologized. He was a good employee he defused the situation and I felt better about leaving." Then a customer called and he confirmed they're reservation even though it was pass the pickup time of noon. Also, while there I called the Hertz location at the Springfield airport and they had several rentals available and also the one off of 2867D W Chestnut Expy had rentals available... So, I'm unsure why I was put through such awful customer service seeing that it was not a same day reservation but, the agent and no one seemed to care at this location and the attitude was 'sucks to be you'. Best bet is to go to Springfield airport in person.

Moved my vehicle rental to another location and was denied there due to his lies. I never had the opportunity to speak to the true supervisor nor the owner. IF Josh is the Manager he never listened to me nor the truth, just denied me an opportunity to rent a vehicle. Hope fully one day the owner or regional manager will see this and get involved.
