Nice cars but very slow service . Generally waiting over 30 minutes . In last case I scheduled a pick up for 12:30 pm and was there by 2;00 And the car was still not ready . After 30 minutes I asked and they said they were cleaning it op and would be ready in 30 minutes . I walked out and canceled . I do not recommend this branch of Enterprise. I was tricked into buying insurance my policy already covered. I was charged $50 per day with 3 days paid upfront. My truck was in for repairs and it was projected to take a month. When I found out I didn't have to pay I called and cancelled it. They refused to return the $150. It's been 6 weeks and the money has not been returned. They further charged my debit card without my knowledge or permission twice. Had a great experience. My car was being repaired due to an insurance claim and they picked me up from the body shop with my rental. They were already at the body shop when I arrived. The website lets you book cars that they don't actually even have or close to. Then when you try to figure it out with them over the phone Ryan tells you he will call you back and then just never calls back. I even tried to call Ryan again the next day after he couldn't even give me the decency to call back and yet again after leaving a message for him I received no call. Basically begging to give my business to enterprise and I had to take my business to hertz and get a car because Ryan at enterprise mentor doesn't have the decency to give someone a simple call back. read more

They need to tell anyone inquiring that they cannot split payments and have to have a large allowance on a major credit card in order to rent from them. Always call ahead. If you fail to plan, then plan to fail. But despite my planning efforts, Murphy's Law intervenes. I've used this ERAC branch on a couple of occasions when visiting family & friends. There hasn't been any problems in the past, but I may have thrown them a curveball this time. Apparently the local branches don't keep child carseats on hand. Only the airport ERAC carries them. Hmm...inconvenient for getting a rental with a carseat when red eye flight times are outside their normal business hours. Coulda been the champion of the Family Friendly category, but it's nice that they don't charge extra for the carseat. I called the local branch because there was no online comments section to put in a special request. After a couple of "let me find out and I'll call you back" promises went by the wayside, I'm almost at my wit's end before our travel date. Third time is the charm with a final phone call that secured a carseat. I said our baby was closer to 50 lbs and definitely not newborn sized. So maybe I exaggerate on weight, but the point was to make sure we didn't get an infant carseat. Guess what we got? I drove from the suburbs to the airport branch to swap out the carseat. A few days later...Great. My rental almost broke down completely after some freaky mechanical issues and serious road vibration. Lucky me, the branch just closed 20 minutes ago on a rainy Saturday and no one is here. I called the 24-hour roadside assistance number on the contract to ask for a replacement car, but I had to emphasize to Call Center Carol that we were closer to Cleveland, and to not send a car from Cincy. Waiting in the rain killed part of my vacation weekend to explore more local stuff. A few hours later the tow truck driver dropped off a car. Moment of ambivalence. I'm grateful that we got a car, but it was crappier than our original rental. Oh well. read more

My concierge service for my personal vehicle contacted the Mentor location of Enterprise Rent-A-Car to arrange for a vehicle and payment for the week due to my new vehicle going to the shop for warranty work. Long story short this place charged me for a week that I didn't have the car. When I called they said they would fix it. When I didn't see it change I called again and was told tough luck rudely. I can't do business with a company who does this. It's a shame for them as I travel for work and have the choice of what rental car company I use. read more

The continuing misalignment of Enterprise airport outlets to country-wide outlets persists. We had a slow leaking flat tire. Upon calling the Enterprise's customer service, they would exchange the Ford Flex with a Dodge Caravan as we desired rather than wait on Enterprise's abysmal roadside service program to replace the front right tire. The branch manager at the nearest Enterprise could not figure out how-to exchange the Ford Flex registered on a different computer system for the available Dodge Caravan on the country-wide computer system. After an hour of searching, the manager gave us the Dodge Caravan. We were pleased to get the Dodge Caravan so we could continue our journey from O'Hare to East Syracuse. read more

Very good service for my day rental. Definitely the cheapest (as far as 1 day rentals go) compared to others, plus they have unlimited miles. Not 5/5 -They do their typical 'purchase insurance' pitch, Im sure plenty of people get suckered into this which can run you $18 and up. Majority if not all personal car insurance carriers cover you if you rent. - SUV I requested they said they had (and would hold) the day before, but day of rental it was gone. The service at this location is stellar. I've been renting from this location for many years when I come home to visit. It's much less expensive than the airport and you get personal service from check-in to return. The only glitch on my last visit was the car exterior had a lot of salt/snow on it but it was a 3 level upgrade because the Economy car I had reserved was late getting back. After I got treated poorly and disrespected by a grumpy man at Avis car rental at the wickliffe Ohio location that I ended up refusing to rent from them. I called around last minute and enterprise pulled through and went above and beyond for us. Although I paid more than what I was expecting, I will forever use enterprise when renting a vehicle. It was an emergency, needed a car the same day. Enterprise had many cars, unlike Hertz 500 feet away. They put me in the car I requested at a VERY REASONABLE price, unlike Hertz. The customer service was great, unlike Hertz. I was in and out of there in no time. There was no XM radio available which is a downside. Also, they need a bigger parking lot..it is VERY cramped when all he cars are in. Mike was great! My car broke down on I-90 whilst heading back home to New York. I was hundreds of miles from any family or friends, so I called a tow truck and stayed the night at the local Holiday Inn. The next morning I was told the damaged part of my vehicle was possibly under warranty through Nissan, so I had the car towed to the nearest Nissan dealership. The guys at Nissan could not approve a loaner car for me since I was heading out of state, but the Nissan dealership where my car is from said if I rent a car they would reimburse me. They called Enterprise for me and they arrived within minutes. I met with Maggie, whom was very friendly and helpful. After figuring out how long I would need the car and whether or not my insurance would cover it, I was in a vehicle and heading home; about ten minutes after being picked up. I arrived home very late, the next morning I discovered that my rental summary said I had to return the vehicle to the same location that I was picked it up at, which was confusing to me since I thought it was understood that I would be leaving the state. Concerned that I would be charged an additional fee, I emailed Maggie about the situation. It turned out there was a misunderstanding, however she quickly fixed it for me. My experience was near flawless, and when I did have an issue it was resolved quickly and painlessly. I was very satisfied with the rental process, the vehicle's performance, and the excellent customer service I recieved. This store doesn't care about customer loyalty. After my father was a renter for 25 years, averaging 20 rentals a year from enterprise they refused to rent to him because of the hoops you go through to pay with a debit card. Hoops he had never gone though. Instead i rent the car (which they refused to put him on) and he takes my car. These managers repeated the same thing over and over. Disregarding his loyalty. As far as the cars go everyone they gave me smelled like smoke. I settled for the least potent smelling car. Our experiences with enterprise is officially over. read more

I have rented cars from Enterprise for over 15 years on several different occasions and have never encountered such rude and disrespect til I visited the 6876 Center St in Mentor, OH 44060. I reserved a rental on line the middle of December 2017 and spoke with the assistant manager several times regarding the things I would need to bring, if any, as well as to confirm the reservation. I was told to bring a utility bill considering I was using a debit master card. He never stated anything else was needed. Upon arriving he began asking for place of employment, at least 2 friends/family, employment address, and supervisor name/number. When I asked why this was needed the assistant manager began yelling and speaking very nasty and rude at me. He repeatedly pointed to a paper on the counter stating "Can you read, Can you read if so then you should have read this". REMEMBER RESERVATIONS WERE MADE ONLINE WHERE NO SUCH INFORMATION WAS POSTED!! Only to learn from the manager that all this info is requested in person because ppl using debit cards are more likely to STEAL their cars verses a person that uses a credit card!?? Wow!! Talk about discrimination (by the way I didn't steal their car an returned it the same way it was given to me). Then I was told they would credit me $25 (for the disrespect and rude assistant manager's behavior) which total my bill to $160 (receipt shows $160). Yet on my bank statement Enterprise charged $189. When I questioned the difference the disrespect continued. The manager states I must bring them a copy of statement or call with bank on the phone so she can hear the bank state such has happened. Well I don't have a problem providing a statement but I have to wait til the billing cycle ends on the 15th of January despite the debit was posted to my account on December 23, 2017. Then I must print a copy bank statement then bring it back to Enterprise instead of Enterprise looking at their ledger. A end of the day closing statement should have been done which would have reflected a overage and their records wouldn't have balanced. This would have shown where they over charged me! Their End of the Year Ledger will reflect any and all debits and credits for the month of December which will reflect ENTERPRISE over charging me! I WOULD NEVER PATRONIZE, REFER NOR RECOMMEND MENTOR ENTERPRISE AGAIN. read more

I've used this Enterprise for YEARS (more than 10). I've always found their people very friendly, helpful and willing to do just about anything to make you happy. That is until my last visit in May15. I rented a full-size car on-line weeks in advance for a 2 week vacation. When we got there 1/2 hour before they opened, we saw two cars we were interested in both Altimas. One had BALD tires. The other one was filthy inside but I figured we could just wait a few minutes for them to clean it up. When the associate offered to go pick out a car we showed him the one car with the bald tires and then the other car that was dirty and we told him "It's not bad it just needs to be cleaned up." Checking their records he said "we can't rent that one to you, it needs an oil change." (the dirty car) so I said "Can you all get it done this morning and we'll pick it up in a couple hours. They said basically no. "What about the one with the bald tires, can we wait till you all can get tires put on it?" Again, he said basically no. So he walked us around the lot which he offered a car that had WHITE interior; NO WAY! Or we could take one that looked like the seats had been involved in a food fight situation OR we could take the one with the burn holes in the seat. What happened to this branch? Don't they even look at their fleet or maintain it? Guess not. Unless WE were willing to rent a smaller or bigger vehicle we were flat outta luck. No customer service involved in that. I couldn't believe how disgusting most of their cars were. They had the reservation for at least 2 weeks and I'm just one customer. I took the ONLY Full-sized vehicle that didn't look like it came from the local bargain (beat to hell) car lot. Don't they check to make sure there will be car options available to all their customers. Not "This is all we have, take it or leave it." Their standards in vehicles are obviously seriously low. I was just about to say I'll just drive my own car when my husband noticed a Camry in the booth being washed. NOT my favorite car but we ended up renting it out of desperation and it was horribly uncomfortable. Both my husband and I had backaches. The seats were terrible. The trunk was spacious and the backseat was spacious but that's about all I can say good about it. I will NEVER rent another Camry and I also won't rent from this Enterprise. They didn't seem to be concerned they were losing a loyal customer. read more

The Mentor Location was outstanding, I got in and out, they dropped me off with a smile, a great experience. The reason I am not giving 5 stars is not for this location but when I went to their website to rent a car at a location closer to where I had my car in for service the site pulled a fast one. Originally they were offering me a deal which was reasonable, actually less than what I was paying at the Mentor location but the moment I was going to book it it almost doubled in price. I called Enterprise to check the rates and as the person on the phone said it's like the airlines, supply and demand. I can understand if they changed the prices prior to me going to their site but not when I find one price and they try to hike it up on me, not just a little but almost double. If there was another rental company nearby at the right price I would have gone with them but the Mentor location though higher than normal from what I found out still not that much higher than their normal rates and less than their competitor, there was only one other rental car company in the local vicinity. read more
