I rented a car from U-Save a few weeks ago. I told them I was looking for a car at a certain price…read more(my insurance company pays for rentals). They called me when they got one and trusting as I am I signed the contract. I picked the car up at a mechanic and the lady from U-Save told me I could just leave the car with the mechanic when I picked up my car. She said I didn't have to do anything else. I rented the car on Monday and returned it on Wednesday. 2 weeks later I got a bill for 5 days rental not the 3 that I had it and the car I was given was double the price I asked for. So I ended up having to pay over $115 for a car that should have been free for me. Read their contracts very careful when you sign and return the car to them yourself and make sure they right down the exact numbers of days you rented the car for before you sign for the return.

Rented a…read more15 passenger van at the recommendation of a nonprofit that was hosting a National Rally in Washington, DC from them 10/2/15 - 10/5/15 . They did not honor the group rate that the nonprofit had in place. At the time that I called to inquire about making a reservation, I explained in detailed what I needed the vehicle for and that I would be traveling with 13 people Friday through Monday. The woman I spoke to had indicated to me that they would be able to serve our needs and so I went ahead with making the reservation. I gave them our Nonprofit Corporate Credit Card to secure the vehicle. They immediately charged the card $100.00 at the time of the reservation. When I received notification of the charge I called them to inquire about it and what would happen to the money if I had a need to change or cancel the reservation. The female rep that works there indicated that the charge would be non-refundable if we decided to go with another company. I called back a few days later because I received a copy of the reservation with the total charges that did not match what I was originally quoted. I spoke to the location manager and he indicated to me that he would waive the additional driver fees ($30) to offset the expense due to the misquoted amount at the time of the reservation. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle this same female customer service rep., looked up the reservation and said that I had reserved a 12 passenger vehicle. I immediately responded that I did not reserve a 12 passenger vehicle and that I had made the reservation with her for a 15 passenger and she was acting as if I was bothering her when she reviewed her system and said, "well I don't know what to tell you because your reservation is for a 12 passenger van." I immediately started to get upset because we were leaving that night with 13 people. I requested that she ask for the manager and she said that he had already left but that she would change the reservation to reflect a 15 passenger. We then had to go over the insurance for the additional drivers and I had to add one of the additional drivers to my personal policy in order to have him listed. In the meantime, she took other customers in between finishing the transaction for the rental with me. This process took almost 2 hours and at no time from the time that I made the initial reservation, to the several follow up calls, or at the time that I was there to pick up the vehicle did she ever go over the contract or the drop off time. In fact, I did not leave their location until closing time and when she presented the contract to me, she only ever indicated that I needed to initial the additional insurance coverage waiver and sign the bottom. The van we received was FILTHY! Stained seats and floors and smelled like dirty feet! The brakes were bad and the driver's side windshield wiper did not work properly. Like I said, they were closing at the time we were presented the vehicle and the process of completing the rental transaction took 2 hours, so I did not have any other alternative but to take the vehicle at that time. They also charged me in full for the rental usage before I ever left their parking lot. Unheard of in Car Rentals! On the day of our return, I called to ask where the key drop was because we were not going to make it back to Lowell, MA by the time they closed. This same female customer service representative lied to me and stated that they did not have a key drop and that if I didn't have the vehicle back by 4:30 that they were going to charge me another full day of rental. When I argued that that was unacceptable she stated that was too bad because it was in my contract. I responded stating that I had explained to her in detail what I needed the vehicle for and for how long and that there would have never been a contract if she had disclosed this information to me at the time of my initial inquiry on securing a rental with them. She then became rude with me, indicated that my card would be charged again anyway and hung up in my face. I then called their Corporate Office to file a complaint and the woman there was also rude, refused to put me through to a manager and proceeded to hang up in my face. I then called back to the Lowell Location and asked to speak to the manager and was advised that the Manager would be out until Friday, but that they would be charging my card this morning. I asked for their Corporate Complaint Department phone number and she hung up in my face again! When I called back they did not answer the phones. So as it stood, here I have a $30k van that I am trying to return and they are all hanging up in my face after we spent $600.00 at their company, and no way of returning the keys, so I had to call the police to document what was happening. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!

These unprofessional trash bags stole my debit card. On October 5th, the rental was dropped off…read more Immediately after, we called to inform them, but they were closed. We called on October 7th and spoke to someone who said he would call the new customer renting the vehicle to see if they could locate my card in the car. Well, we realized after, this Hertz Trash Employee didnt even take down my information, so we called back on the 9th and the Trash Bag said the rental had been extended by that customer. Well, these guys like to eat McDonald's because they used my debit card there this evening - November 11 in Lowell, MA. Here is why I know the Hertz employees stole my card and not the customer renting the vehicle. 1. The customer renting the vehicle would have their credit card and ID linked to the car my card was left in, so it would be pretty dumb to take a card and use it when all their information could be found on file. 2. The Lowell, MA McDonald's is right down the street from this Hertz (less than a mile), making it quite convenient for a junked out employee to acquire a little snack with a stolen card. 3. How many people rent cars to drive around their home city? Most rentals are for people out of town or traveling or business, so chances are, the swindler of my card must be close (.7 miles) to the McDonald's they bought their snack at. I hope they get e.coli from their stolen treat. These people are complete degenerates. Do not do business here. Wait there was a man of color who was really nice. Probably the only trust worthy person there.
