I'm a college student and don't have extra funds to pay the extra for a SUV that they did had available. I have to admit I was frustrated yet I knew it was my own fault for wanting things done quickly in a short amount of time! However, Daniela was able to help me out with a rental on the spot and really made a difference in my day! She was understanding and supportive and went beyond her job expectations to help out! After the horrible performance yesterday I went in to finally pick it up. They didn't have any available now so they sent me to this location to pick up the vehicle. When I got here they started the rental all over again and then asked for a copy of my insurance. I work for a company that has a corporate account with National/Enterprise and have never been asked for this. Even when I explained we have a corporate account and they should have all of this on file they didn't care. I am now sitting here waiting for someone at my company who has access to find it and send it to me.

As we were walking out the attendant was like I don't think we have any full size sedans for you and was quick to give me this Outlander. Outlander had 9000 miles on it and was in pretty good condition. Car return has no drama either with no up charges. Overall this is everything you want in a car rental company. I put 220 miles on my car in 60ish hours. I'd rent again from this Alamo location in a heartbeat. I wish more were like this location.

My husband is a veteran, and as a longtime USAA member, I trusted that booking through this program would provide a smooth and reliable experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case -- and I want to be very clear that this situation was NOT USAA's fault in any way. The issue was entirely with Alamo's lack of transparency and communication. We completed the "Skip the Counter" process, paid the $225 rental fee in advance, and expected everything to go smoothly. After selecting the vehicle and proceeding to the exit gate, we presented the driver's license and the credit card used for the reservation. Only then were we informed that an additional $400 deposit was required because we lived more than 100 miles away from the rental location. This information was never disclosed during booking, payment, or the Skip the Counter process. To make matters worse, I specifically called the day before pickup to confirm everything was in order and asked if there would be any issues. At no point did anyone mention this additional deposit requirement. Had we been informed beforehand, we could have planned appropriately or made different arrangements. Because our credit card had a $500 limit, we were unable to complete the rental and were left stranded despite already paying for the reservation and following all of Alamo's instructions. This experience was stressful, embarrassing, and completely avoidable. Hidden policies and poor communication ruined an important family trip for a veteran trying to attend his daughter's graduation. I am extremely disappointed in Alamo's customer service and transparency, and after this experience, I will never rent from Alamo again.

    Well that didn't last long. From a five star review to a one star review faster than my rental car…read morestalling before getting out of the lot. Which is exactly what happened. We rented a Chevy Malibu and got the car quickly enough, but before we hit the street the car started jerking and then stalled on us with a notice on the dash saying to shift to neutral. My wife restarted the car and we got about halfway around the block before jerking abruptly to a stop as the engine shut down again. We managed to nurse it back around to the return side of the lot where we were told they would do a vehicle swap for us. They were totally casual about it like this happens all the time, but all I could think was we were about to drive across Dallas on the freeways out to Rockwall. If the car had died on the 635 we would have been screwed for sure, or even better yet seriously hurt in a crash as the car shuts down on a freeway. I called their customer service department today to discuss it with them, as I lost sleep last night thinking about how bad it could have been. They said they were going to escalate it to their management team, but I haven't heard back from anyone yet. In the meantime my wife noticed the check engine light has come on in the replacement (you guessed it, Chevy Malibu) and won't go off. So I'm just feeling super uneasy driving this car around and will certainly avoid renting from Alamo in the future as they are clearly not servicing their fleet. My family's safety is worth more than saving a few bucks on a sketchy rental.

This company refused to give him a replacement car after he paid his money. Instead, they wanted all the information insurances , but they did not want to do the right thing. He went to the hospital due to the accident. He took the necessary steps in resolving the issue. He asked them could they give him a replacement car since he already paid for the week and they simply had said not until they get all the claim information resolved, which is understandable but everyone knows when you get into a car accident in a rental car they give you a replacement. They ended up following him instead shut the vehicle down and left him stranded on the road. David was so unprofessional over the phone, how dare you all sit up here and treat an older person like this after he's paid you thousands of dollars and has been a good paying customer. They confirmed that I was coming and told both me and my insurance rep that there were 4 SUVs available. Based on that confirmation, I drove over 30 minutes out of my way. When I got there, I saw every SUV they told me about sitting on the lot -- clearly available. But Cole suddenly claimed they had nothing at all and told me I'd have to wait until next week. No explanation. No willingness to help. No accountability. He acted like he had no idea what I was talking about -- even though this exact location had just spoken with my insurance. This kind of behavior is dishonest, unprofessional, and completely disrespectful. I wasted time, gas, and energy because this location couldn't be honest or consistent. It was a Wednesday, mid morning and I did not have to wait long for a shuttle bus to the rental plaza. Elliot was the driver and got us there safely. They had a decent choice of cars, I chose a small jeep. The check out line was slow but they opened up more lanes as the line was building. The return: Kat checked me in when returning the car and was very quick and pleasant. Strange thing is there was an extra key fob in the jeep. I told her about it and she actually thanked me for telling her. The return shuttle process is really bad. So many people on the shuttle yet they keep adding people that are going to the plaza. They should empty the buses a little more or run more to relieve the crowds. Lots of people getting on and off. We had to shuffle around with big bags, reaching around people, some had to get off in order to let others pass. I got my receipt right away via email.
