I am writing this review based on my experience with the customer service with AUSTIN SMITH on Aug 23 . I booked my reservation the day of which is not unusual. Therefore, the car type I requested was not available . That's understandable. I just moved to Houston one week ago from California as my license has my valid address on there . Austin asked me if I lived in Houston and I said yes . He then proceeded to ask if I had an utility to prove I live in Houston. Why does this matter ? I am returning the vehicle to the same location. He basically wanted to decline my reservation as I waited in the hot sun (curbside service ) for 30 mins. He told me they are concerned with the information I provided because "people steal cars ". So just because I have a CA ID and just moved to Houston , you think I will steal your car. I told him this was no true correlation. I felt very racially profiled . I rented over a hundred rental cars all around the world and never experienced a service so poor as today with this location. Rental car do not ask for utility bills to rent a car !! I would strongly recommend NOT to do business with this location. Austin's attitude was rude , condescending and distasteful. He needs to be fired. In addition, I go up the street one mile and the gas light turns on. My tank is completely empty. I turned around and went back the store . Another representative had informed me that the company is waivering all gas charges upon return. AUSTIN was offering and suggesting I pay enterprise to fill the gas up or bring it back on FULL upon return. What kind of scam is this ? AUSTIN DID NOT TELL ME THIS ! I also did not get a receipt !!!! No confirmation email! This is totally unprofessional and bad service ! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE SHADY PEOPLE.

The typical bait and switch. Well what I mean is the first time we rented, the customer service was amazing. An Austrian gentleman went out of his way through be helpful. I couldn't wait to rent two weeks later. The second experience was worse than horrible. It started with a phone call the night before asking if I was still picking up a vehicle. The speech was so poor and slurred I put him on speaker to use as a quick teachable moment for my business students. Upon areivWe walked in to staff playing around. Even though I had a reservation, because of the amazing service last time, she spent a considerable amount of time inputting information. Then spent several minutes discussing who knows what with her coworker. Maybe she was deciding how horrible of a vehicle she could give us. The door had a major dent. Three rims were badly scratched and dented. It smelled like smoke and it was filthy. She asked if I wanted it cleaned. Wouldn't that be standard practice for your product? They need customer service training and etiquette understanding before they should serve another customer. UPDATE: After the complaint, the manager went out of her way to accommodate the situation. She was friendly and seemed concerned. Although the same agent is still working there who has NO customer service skills, others are now going out of their way to cover her incompetence.

Not everyone is understanding so what may seem minor to me could be monumental to someone else. I had a reservation booked today to pick up at 7:30 AM. Upon calling the facility, the representative mentioned they had no cars available and did not have any pertinent information regarding when cars WOULD be available. I then received a call at 10:51 AM stating cars were available. I still needed the vehicle so I went to pick it up. The representative at the facility was nice but I did ask him if there was any type of courtesy accommodations available due to the inconvenience, he said no. Upon getting into the first vehicle I was given (Honda CR-V), the tire pressure light was on. I looked at the tires and noticed a nail in the right side passenger back one. I went back inside and informed the agent. He gave me the Jeep Compass instead. Upon getting into that vehicle, there was a faint smell of cigarette smoke! I could tell there was an attempt to get the smell out which I understand is difficult. I informed the agent just so he would know the smell was already in there PRIOR to me getting the vehicle. I do not want to be charged for something that wasn't my doing. All in all, I still drove off in the Jeep but this experience left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. I've always used Avis since my job has a corporate code with them. I will say that I have only experienced Avis airport locations so maybe it's a difference with the neighborhood facilities? Not too sure. I will have to have a talk with our Relationship Manager to see if we will continue this collaboration.

Beware - Dishonest and Unprofessional Location I rented a…read morecar from this location on 10/10/2025 and returned it on 10/13/2025 at 10:30 a.m. in perfect condition. I was told I would receive a survey text, but instead got a message about my insurance accepting a body shop claim -- even though the car had already been returned. When I checked my account, the $300 deposit hold showed I would only get $88 back. I called the store, and a young man named Christopher answered. He immediately became defensive and told me the car was returned two days late (10/15/2025), which was completely false. I went to the location in person and asked for a manager. Christopher claimed he was the manager and started arguing with me about the return. Only after pressing him did he say, "It was just a mistake -- you'll get your full refund. It's not that serious." His attitude was rude, unprofessional, and dismissive. It's now clear this location has serious integrity issues. I've filed complaints with corporate and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Based on my experience, it appears cars are being re-rented after being returned, and prior customers are later falsely charged for damages or late returns. Do not rent from this location. I'm now investigating how the vehicle I returned in perfect condition somehow ended up in a body shop claim under my name. Something is definitely not right here.

Outstanding Customer Service - Above and Beyond Experience!…read moreI want to take a moment to highlight two amazing employees at Enterprise: Bj Caples and Christopher Adigwe. From start to finish, both of these gentlemen went above and beyond to make my rental experience smooth and stress-free. Originally, my sister and I stopped by to rent a car for a concert. Things didn't go exactly as planned on my end, but Bj and Christopher stepped in with patience, understanding, and incredible professionalism. They worked with me to get everything sorted out, and their level of customer service was truly impeccable. What stood out most was their consistency. I ended up keeping the car for almost a month, and anytime I had a question or ran into an issue, one of them was always available. They either answered my call right away or took the time to call me back and walk me through whatever I needed help with. It's rare to find people who genuinely care about their customers like that. Because of Bj and Christopher, Enterprise has definitely earned my loyalty. They turned what could have been a frustrating situation into a great experience, and I'm extremely grateful for their professionalism, kindnes & d follow-through. Thank you both for setting the standard for excellent customer service!
