First thing Hertz called me days before letting me know that they knew I was coming and that they will pick me up from the auto shop. My insurance covers me for $25 a day and Hertz gave me a littlest clown car that was $18 a day. When I got to the auto shop I still had to sit for 30mins for Hertz (they forgot about me I guess). Got to Hertz and it's this little hole in a wall spot next to Enterprise! Hertz had like 2 cars and Enterprise had a million in their lot. They tell me "Oh the person before kept this car very clean" well that was a lie. It had marks all over the place and they don't do a walk around like Enterprise does. And also I was told I had to put a "hold" for $50 which this wasn't my fault I should had to hold anything. Like I said the manager there was nice but this place is not organized what so ever and needs a paint job. I hope I never get into another accident but if that happens I will NOT come back here.

I did searches of rental car companies, rewards, discounts, etc. I've had great experiences with Enterprise in the past and my husband who traveled weekly for work for years is a huge fan of Hertz. Well, ironically this Hertz is right next to an Enterprise very close to my home. I called both places and was basically quoted similar rates. I then decided I felt the rewards program, along with my husband's feedback, made Hertz stand out so I booked my first car rental with them this month. I set up my rewards profile online and did the rental online. To me, ultimately it would come down to overall cost and customer service. My first experience was good. Took about 10 minutes to get a car on a Tuesday morning, the car was great, and returning the car that night was a breeze. The manager at the counter gave me a few tips on how I could save some money in the future and told me I should find it faster to pick up a car too, the first couple times I rent they like to see the credit card I have on file but once I'm an established customer they won't need to do that. Walked out of there happy that night. I chose to rent again the next week and again set up my reservation online. I needed to be on the road by 6:30 am so I needed to pick up the car the night before. I got on a train leaving Chicago that should have gotten me to Hertz in plenty of time before they closed. Well, a. Train derailed and caused a huge back up. I ended up getting off the train with 20 minutes before they closed. I called and said I knew I was late, I'm on my way and the gentleman says "No problem." I got there 7 minutes before they close and the employee walked right over to me as I was walking in and said "Tracy? Here are your keys and documents it's the black car, you are all set." I was literally out of there in less than a minute. Returning it was even better than the first time. Same manager who had given me tips on discounts the last time was there as sure enough one of the tips worked and this rental was cheaper than my last one. I stopped to thank him for the customer service and was probably in and out of there in three minutes. At this point I don't see why I'd chose to rent with another company. I have a stressful job, particularly on the days I drive around, and this type of customer service helps make the days less stressful.

They were flexible with pick up and return times and even offered to pick me up from the auto body shop if needed. When I arrived, they had minimal available guest parking spots but most people are without a vehicle when visiting. Derek helped me in getting a standard suv (Jeep Compass). My car was very clean, ran well, and was easy to temporarily connect to carplay. This location is very busy but Derek did his best to get me on my way. When returning the vehicle, it was fast and simple. Derek inspected my vehicle and sent me a confirmation email immediately. He was friendly and accommodating. The location called us a couple of days before our reserved time as a reminder, as well! When we went to pick up the car, many cars in the parking lot looked nice. I told my husband that there were two specific beautiful ones I'd love to get. When we went inside, the man was friendly and helpful and led us outside to the car so that he could assure everything was ready with the car. It was the one I really liked: a 2023 Nissan Maxima! He checked the gas and mileage and then showed us the outside of the car. He then explained all the formalities and had my husband sign for the things we agreed on. Then, it was ours for a week! Pricewise, it truly wasn't bad at all! We didn't need any extras like insurance or iPass, so this was just for a sedan with unlimited miles. They charged us the same amount my husband was promised when he made the reservation, and they do charge your card $300 extra at the reservation so that if they need to charge you for anything extra when you return it (for damage or cleaning or whatever), then they already charged you part of it. Basically, it acted as a security deposit, but we got it returned to us when we returned the car the following week. We had no problems with the car on our trip to St. Louis. We had unlimited mileage, the car had modern technology, including GPS, and the ride itself was so smooth. Upon returning the car, the woman was nice and professional and asked if everything went well. She checked the car's appearance and checked the gas and mileage before we left. Overall, we had the best experience, and we got so lucky with the car we received. It was beautiful and now we want the car, haha!

I picked up a rental that was not only filthy dirty but I smelled like someone spent the night inside it & was smoking marijuana or stink weed. At first I though it was skunk but it got worse & I realized it was the smell of drugs. Also I was given a car with no gas, the red light was on on the dash & I was lucky to make it to the gas station. I returned it & refused another car as I had put $25.00 worth of gas & I could not drive the car. The Assistant & Branch Managers are nothing but paper pushers & pass the buck. I had to complain to State Farm & Enterprise but I do not know if I will ever see my $25.00 in gas. How can a legitimate business send out cars that lack cleanliness & gas to paying customers? In addition, how can they require that we sign a contract & take a $50.00 deposit for a nasty car?

On Tuesday morning I received a phone call that the type of vehicle I reserved was not available for a morning pickup but would be on site by early afternoon. I rearranged my obligations to accommodate this change in timing-but received no communication from the location throughout the day. I contacted them at 4pm to check on the status and the first gentleman I spoke to first told me they were hopeful a vehicle would be there by 6pm and then told me a vehicle would be available tomorrow. When I then asked who else I could speak to as this experience was unacceptable the manager then informed me no cars are available until Thursday. I cannot fathom how a company would allow you to make a reservation for something that is not available. Beyond that to basically be told sorry, sucks to be you we have no options for you and we can't help you is deplorable. I can tell you that based on this experience I will never be renting from enterprise again and beyond that will be sharing the same advice with my friends, families, colleagues and even enemies because I would not wish this experience on anyone.

The manager is absolutely horrible -- rude, disrespectful, impatient, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. There was not a single moment where I felt like a valued customer. Every question was met with attitude, and the level of hostility was unbelievable. The car itself was filthy, clearly not cleaned before I received it. There were stains, dust, and trash left inside. On top of that, the car had multiple issues malfunctioning, making me question how they are even allowed to rent vehicles in this condition. The fact that they would hand a customer a car like that says everything about how little they care. And when I left an item in the vehicle and tried to retrieve it, the staff and manager acted like I was an inconvenience and made the process way harder than it needed to be. No empathy, no effort, no respect. I will never rent from Hertz again and I strongly recommend that no one else does either. Save yourself the headache, the disrespect, and the unsafe cars. This location is a perfect example of why people avoid Hertz altogether.

My sales coordinator was Rose, she was a joy to work with, as were Tim & Tim, the 2 gentlemen who assisted with the financing. All 3 of them are very personable, customer oriented & know their stuff. All my questions were answered to my satisfaction, everything was thoroughly explained. The monthly payment was a little more than I wanted to pay, but for what I got, it's well worth it. I loved the fact that I didn't need to haggle to get a great price, the price you see on the website is the price that you pay, but keep in mind that's before all taxes, fees, & any extras that you want are added on. For the test drive, I took the car to my mechanic, who checked the car out thoroughly, the car passed with flying colors, with a couple of minor issues that were addressed before I drove off the lot. I can honestly say that in all my years of buying cars, this was the easiest, most pleasant car buying experience that I've ever had. I highly recommend Hertz Schaumburg.

However as we were told by our sales rep they only have 1 guy who does the finances. This causes a huge backup if there is literally anyone else there trying to buy a car. We were there from 9:30am to 2:30pm. While buying a car is a process, it's not a 5 hour process. Esp since there is no haggling involved and we had the car we wanted picked out. By the time we were able to sign our contract we were already in a huge hurry So we had to rush the most important part of the whole thing. We carved out 3 hours, were fine with 4, then started to get annoyed and anxious at 5 We also noticed an interior light wasn't working during our test drive. The sales rep mentioned they would have someone swap it out but by the time we left it was still out. Either they forgot, or somehow in 5 hours had no time to swap out an interior lightbulb. They did end up changing it a few days later though We would defiantly go back and recommend to friends. Just make sure to bring lunch haha
