I had a reservation, which was confirmed over the phone 6 days prior and via website check in the day prior. When we arrived, we were told that there were no vehicles that were anywhere comparable to what we had reserved. The closest option was going to take around 20 mins to have ready. I was told that the impetus was on us to call other Enterprises in the area to see if they had a car. It's baffling that none of the 8+ employees there took the time to call us prior and resolve the issue. We will not be renting from this location again, if any future Enterprise locations. So obviously it was busy, however the staff were all very pleasant and helpful, even with the overflow customers sent to them from other branches, while there was an issue with my first vehicle it was quickly resolved by Kevin, and I was put in a nicer one and was made sure that I was compensated for the (very short) wait and change of plans. Terrible service. When we went to their location bc we needed to extend another day. They would not work with us after someone that wasn't authorized to drive the car was in the passenger seat even though they didn't drive they just literally just pulled the car in the parking lot. They took the car back and left us stranded 6 hrs away from home when at another location they said we were good. Our home location said that they can't fix it and is up to this people here but they were saying to us is to our home location. I have rented from half a dozen Enterprise locations in several states, and this is by far the worst. When I arrived, there were lots of employees standing around, but apparently only one available to assist me. Unfortunately, she was very slow, taking about half an hour to process an existing reservation. She was also phenomenally rude. No smile and no introduction (none of the employees at this branch introduce themselves by name or seem to have business cards; you don't know who you're dealing with, and whether they're a long time manager, or a trainee midway through their first day). Just terse, repetitive sentences, ignoring everything I said. I requested a discount to compensate for the fact that my last Enterprise rental had required me to spend a Saturday afternoon taking the car in for a scheduled oil change that the employees at that branch had apparently forgotten about (or I could have switched vehicles, but that would have been a hassle as well). It's pretty standard for Enterprise employees to offer a discount under circumstances like that, but the woman I dealt with here didn't seem to be aware of or understand Enterprise company policy, or know how to do her job (hence the half hour wait; that was before I requested the discount). Finally, I gave up in frustration and took my business elsewhere. With a dozen other car rental locations in Gainesville, I can't think of a single reason to choose this one. When my car was in the body shop following a fender bender, Enterprise picked me up and took me to their office. It was a Monday morning, and one of their assistant managers was in the process of being taken to the hospital in an ambulance. As you might expect, the office was backed up to the max, and I expected an atmosphere of chaos. But - no! Employees were courteous, moving efficiently, and treating each customer as though they were the most important one of the day. Cars were moving, albeit less quickly than one might have hoped. And yes, it did take quite a while to move through the process. But, the professionalism and the calm courtesy exhibited by the staff kept everything moving, and, in a perfect example of "spill-over", kept the customers calm too. Very impressive! Then, when it was time to return the car, the same thing in reverse - I went to the office, dropped off the vehicle (yes, it did take longer than dropping a car at the airport), and was ferried to the body shop. Oh, the car, you ask? It was exactly the size I requested, worked great, no problems. A bit strange to rent a car with the gas peg almost on zero - I don't know if that is their regular policy, or an artifact of the problems they were having on the day I picked up the car. We were on our way to a wedding rehearsal. The manager spoke to our party of 8 for two minutes (maybe less) before requesting we return the keys. Our party, which included a 6 month old, was kicked out of our rental, not allowed to rectify our violation, and not allowed to rent other cars, based on the feeling of manager "Daft." My midsize SUV rental reservation was not honored by the Enterprise Branch #4303 located at 410 NW 39th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32609-4144. I had made the reservation online more than 48 hour earlier for pick up 3/26/2021 @ 8:00 AM and drop off 3/28/2021 @ 10:30AM. The online reservation system gave me confirmation (Re: 2046039903) and showed several cars and SUVs available at that location. However, the expectation of honoring that agreement was not met by Enterprise. The agent stated that they had been trying to contact me to explain that there were no actual cars available but that "there was no contact information on file", which was not true because your online reservation system had both phone and email address as required fields. He then told us that I had made the reservation "only two days in advance and that this was high season so that there were no cars available and nothing he could do about that....that I should have made the reservation 2 weeks ahead of time." When I asked to speak with a manager, the agent called Ms. Perri Lyles, Management Assistant, who in a dry, caustic and sarcastic tone, told us that "it is called Spring Break", and that "we were out of luck because I should have asked for a reservation two weeks ahead of the need." Then I politely asked for at least a voucher for future use to lessen the emotional and financial impact of the situation and to compensate for the negative experience, which Ms. Lyles summarily dismissed as "inappropriate for the situation because the error was with the Enterprise reservation system." Most reputable companies will try to correct issues once they have been made aware of. However, Enterprise's Management Assistant Ms. Lyles refused to do so. I did not appreciate having to waste time explaining over and over again what should have been an automatic courtesy. I was sent various emails stating that someone from the regional office would call to address the issue, but I only received a call from the local office restating that it was my fault for not making the reservation 14 days in advance of the need. The local agent stated that they had just enhanced the website to show car availability. This feature was not at the time of making my reservation. This deceptive overbooking practice is contrary to the Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, which provides consumers with a means to seek relief for deceptive and unfair car rental practices read more

This location is terrible. We waited 45 minutes for a vehicle to be cleaned and brought up even though we had a reservation. The kid helping us didn't introduce himself and stood around joking with a full counter of employees but no one seemed to be actually working. They brought out a Toyota Corolla that was clearly damaged and smelled like smoke inside. It was also very dirty and had peanut shells in the back window & was given to us with no gas and were told we would need to fill it up. (It should have had gas already). When we pointed out that the front bumper looked misaligned (like a previous accident) the kid blew it off and said it was fine and that he already noted it. We drove on the highway later the same say and could hear loud wind up front, when we got out the bump was sticking out(photo). Unfortunately, the great stuff (friendliness, accommodating attitudes, price, pick-up service) is overshadowed by the fraudulent charge for roadside assistance. I've been around the block once or twice, so I could tell the customer service rep at the counter was trying to get something over on me regarding the rental cost. The cost he quoted me was a few dollars higher than that reflected on my online reservation, and his explanation for the discrepancy impressed me as "fast talk." Sure enough, when he presented the rental agreement to me, he had highlighted the places for me to initial ("Just initial here-here-here-and-here") to decline insurance coverages as I had told him, but also to accept the roadside assistance charge he never mentioned, which, coincidentally, accounted for the cost discrepancy. So, I said, "No," and initialed to DECLINE that charge, as well. When I brought the car back, the same customer service rep checked my car back in, handed me my receipt, and because my ride home was waiting, I turned and walked out. When I arrived home, I looked at the receipt, and there was the roadside assistance charge I had explicitly declined. I called that Enterprise location and spoke with Alison, who I believe was the assistant manager. I explained what had happened. Alison was apologetic and told me the charge would be refunded. Almost a month later, the charge has not been refunded, and I just initiated a dispute with my credit card company. Why such a big deal over a few bucks? This is not the first time an Enterprise location has fraudulently charged me for RAP, and I don't do business with cheaters. I've given Enterprise a chance to redeem itself, and it missed that opportunity, as well. Why would Enterprise risk its relationship with a loyal customer? The benefit to Enterprise of a few stolen dollars in the short run is eclipsed by the business they've lost from me. If Enterprise wants to earn my trust, my respect, and my business again, it will have to do something extraordinary. read more

I couldn't have been happier with my Enterprise experience in Gainesville. Their facility is MUCH nicer than their competition located nearby. I quit using the "other guys" when they rented the car that I had reserved. Admittedly, was a few hours late picking it up. But you'd think that they would have at least given me the courtesy of a phone call. Enterprise's facility is a busy place - no doubt about that. But my wait time wasn't excessive. Hey, there must be a reason why they're busy. I found the people to be extremely pleasant and professional. And they rented me a nice, clean, low-mileage car (a Chevy Cruze). I was so happy with my Gainesville experience as a matter of fact, that the day after I returned my car, I flew to Charleston, WV on business and rented from Enterprise there and was equally as happy. The staff will go out of their way to make sure you are a satisfied customer, if there's a delay they will let you know, even when it's busy they customer service is still amazing. I have rented several cars from this location and I always feel like I am their #1 customer. I don't know who conducts the training for their employees but every company needs should observe the staff and management at this location. I advise anyone looking to rent a car and view the Google Ratings, come to this location because you won't be disappointed. If I can give them more stars, I would. They deserve a 10 star rating for staff, location, cleanliness and customer service. When you return the car, they ask how was the rental and the service? When I called customer service they were rude and hung up on me and when i spoke to the branch manager he was also rude and lied l about over charging me and only refunded a portion of what was over charged. So, I registered for a car with Enterprise at the Gainesville airport. Arrived on time and went to the counter. The young man informed me that it is a known problem and the address for the "other" location has the same address as the airport location. I would have to take a Uber to the other location and pick up the car. I asked if they could bring the car to me? "No." Would they bring me to the car? "No." So I took the Uber. I asked at the "other" location if I could drop the car back at the airport? "No." So, I figured I would call customer service later. I called customer service twice! The first young lady said "I will have one of the managers from the Gainesville locations call you back." They never did. So, I called the customer service back. I spoke with the "escalation department" and asked all the same questions and added one more "Can you, will you help me?" she said and I quote "I CAN'T. THEY DO NOT GIVE ME ANY AUTHORITY OVER ANY BRANCHES. I AM SO SORRY. YOU WILL HAVE TO CONTINUE TO CALL THE BRANCH AND SEE IF THEY WILL HELP YOU." Enterprise owns Alamo. My daughter was in an accident a few months ago and we had to go to Enterprise to rent a car while her car was being repaired. The customer service that was displayed was second to none. They greeted us when we walked in the door, someone came out and wrote our names down, informed us there would be a brief wait and offered water while we waited. I had to move an entire apartment's worth of furniture from Gainesville to South Florida, but I didn't want to spend $500+ on a U-haul. I couldn't think of any options and then I decided to go with the Enterprise Cargo Van - which was 1. big enough to fit everything 2. not nearly as bad on gas 3. way easier to drive 4. a fraction of the price. I called Jared Beasely, and he was ridiculously nice and went beyond standard to policy to create an option that worked with my schedule. I was even later for drop off and he was totally cool with it. I honestly only take the time the leave yelp comments when my experience was really bad or really good - and this was realllly good. Driving back and forth between Gainesville and Fort Lauderdale, I spent $265 including tolls, gas, taxes, and the enterprise rental fee to move my entire apartment. read more

Honestly, I was not impressed at all when coming to drop my vehicle off due to the lack of everyone that was an actual employee standing around just looking at the lobby full of waiting customers(There were probably 2 actual workers assisting people and everyone else seemed confused or maybe waiting for guidance because they haven't been working there long which is understanding.) . I wanted to drop the vehicle off and check out easy, so I could be back to work in time for a meeting. After waiting for almost 15 minutes, I grew upset and decided to just call a lyft because I could not be late. However, as I am outside Charles Taylor pulls up in a truck stating he didn't know how long the shuttle would take to take me back to my car and wanted to be sure I made it back in time. I couldn't be more impressed with Charles, not only did he go out of his way to make this situation a win/win for Enterprise as a whole, but Charles would probably be the only reason I ever return to Enterprise. With just a simple concern for my time, he made me feel as if he valued my time as much as I do and at the end of the day that is exactly one of the top characteristics of good customer service. Very Disappointed in the way my family and I we're treated at this Enterprise location. We drove up from Miami to this Gainesville for a wedding. We needed an extension for the reservation for the vehicle we drove. Keep in mind we had eight people in the car including a 5 month old baby and it is 50 degrees outside. The reservation was made under my wife's name for the vehicle she drove most of the way up to Gainesville and we decided to switch drivers so she could tend to the crying baby in vehicle. As I drove up and asked to speak to an agent to ask to extend our reservation. They asked for our information and credit cards as human beings we gave the everything they asked for and given with the upmost respect. Then moments later to our surprise the manager comes out with another employee and demands that they will not get our keys back and that our reservation was canceled because of non authorized driver was in driver seat (me) and to figure a way for transportation for 8 people (including the 5 month old baby.) We asked to make a completely new reservation but they refused to make one. We pleaded with them and still gave us excuses. So we ended up with 7 people stranded including a crying baby in the cold for almost two hours to figure out a way back on the road and find a vehicle to get back home. My car was backed into when it was parked in a neighborhood. Thank goodness for the kind individual that left his insurance information for me. I took my 2013 Prius to Gatorland Collision Center for repairs and what started out as a very stressful situation for me became very, very streamlined. An Enterprise representative picked me up and brought me from Gatorland to Enterprise, I was given the option to choose what my rental car would be. They didn't have a lot of options that morning so I was upgraded to a 2018 Chevrolet Impala at no extra charge. I was so thrilled by how quick they got me in and out of there as I had never rented a car before. The transaction was painless (granted I wasn't paying for anything, it was covered by the opposing party's insurance) and I got to drive right off the lot in what felt like a brand new car. The only downside to the whole experience is that I never wanted to give the car back! I left work early to return the vehicle and the lobby was rather crowded. They worked though each of us so quickly and got us out of there and shuttled us to our respective car repair shops before they closed. I reserved three weeks in advance, but when I arrived to pick up the car, the two employees at the counter could not give it to me as it was a one-way rental, and ONLY THE MANAGER had access to that part of the system. They texted the manager-- who knows where he was. Then they texted him again. Eventually, he came, and after some more paper shuffling, he gave me the car. So, reserving three weeks in advance may not be enough for them to have your car ready. I have rented many vehicles, but this was my first time with Enterprise at the Gainesville Regional Airport. It will be my last. We had a family emergency and I had to get a car right away. I told the guys at the counter this and I believe they did everything possible to make the reservation go as slow as possible. I felt like a criminal. I had to show my electric bill because I wasn't flying anywhere and didn't have a return flight number for them to put in their system. Not only were we charged a $200 deposit, but an additional deposit of $212, and no one could explain why. All for a less than 24-hour rental that was returned to the same airport. The car had a screw missing on the bumper, so the bumper was not completely attached. We discovered a plug in one of the tires. There was someone else's trash in the car when we got in. I will stick to Avis. Worst experience ever and not one person offered to make things right. The only thing they said is "this is how we do things at Enterprise". Oh and at our airport they are also affiliated with National Car Rental. So I would avoid them as well. read more
