I suggest regular maintenance and clean. I rented an SUV from this location for my niece to visit me in Florida and she got as far as Georgia when the vehicle started rattling at 60MPH. She had to turn around and get a different vehicle and the gave her a filthy SUV with no washer fluid or antifreeze that had the oil change light come on 2 days later. She tried getting a different vehicle while in Florida twice to no avail as both locations were swamped and out of vehicles. Finally she was permitted to get the vehicle serviced, however there is no remedy for the loss of time on her vacation. It turns out Enterprise locations are independently owned and you are at the mercy of the individual owners. Personally, I will stick with the larger rental agencies in the future. I cannot believe that when one returns a car during a weekend that there is no one to give that person a ride to their local residence. ADDENDUM: Tonight I phoned the after-hours number and the agent understood the problem stated and extended the reservation at no charge until Monday when a courier is available at this location. Potential customers of the Franklin NC Enterprise location BEWARE!! I reserved a car on-line on Monday for pick-up on Wednesday morning. At 2:30 pm on Tuesday I got a call from the manager saying they would not have a car for me - that they had no cars to rent. I said I had a confirmation and they said the on-line system does not take the actual local inventory into account. I asked what would have happened if they had not be able to reach me and I had shown up on Wednesday morning expecting a car. In that case I would have been sent away empty handed. The manager was very polite, but this is still no way to run a business. I called the Blairsville GA location and they quickly confirmed a car for me. I'll be moving my rental business to the Blairsville location from now on. If Enterprise can't run their business better than this, maybe they need to pull out of the Franklin NC market! read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would. This was the most UNaccomodating, UNhelpful experience ever. Traveling to Franklin in our RV, made a reservation a day in advance, got a call letting me know there were NO cars available, upon checking the next day, still no cars & none in the foreseeable future. I get it, these things happen, but the staff offered NO solutions other than to check an hour away, how was I going to get there with no car? When did customer service become a thing of the past? Find a solution, help the customer, and BE NICE! On Saturday morning I spoke with a staff member who was tired of talking to customers. Then, upon trying to check one last time before they closed for the weekend no one would answer the phone, assuming they had caller ID & just couldn't be bothered. We reserved a vehicle days ago, the guy who called was rude and said they don't have the sports car we reserved. He was extremely rude and unhelpful so I was rude back. When we showed up to get our car, he refused to rent to us. I see this business has barely over a two star rating and I see why. Don't ever go to the Franklin Enterprise!! This review is for the Enterprise operation at Atlanta's airport. I left my $200 binoculars in the glove compartment of the a Toyota I rented from that location for a week. I had kissed them goodbye forever when I recalled that I left them in the rental vehicle. I discovered Enterprise has a lost and found web site and I submitted an entry - still doubting I would ever hear anything about the binoculars ever. Guess what! I got them bask this afternoon via fed-ex delivery. Hats off and Cheers for Atlanta's Enterprise Car Rental operations! I knew why Enterprise was my go-to for car rental and this is further evidence to support my regard for Enterprise above all the rest. PS - give Enterprise a lot of slack at the Atlanta airport. That airport is an abject failure in every regard and should be bulldozed and quietly returned to nature. Also, don't fly Delta until they understand what a failure they are for operating their hub out of that disaster of an airport for so very long. Beware of the Franklin, NC location...I take responsibility for accidently leaving my purse on the front seat, upon my rush to return the car right before their closing. my experience was unbelievable i reserved a vehicle only to be told just before picking up that their lot in franklin had no vehicles i was told corporate didn't update the website for availability Paul was not helpful and could care less the serious inconvenience i was being put thru acted as though it was business as usual. when i asked for a manager, he refused to let me speak to the mgr. would not give me a phone number to speak to the manager. i had to call a location in another state to get the managers name for franklin NC because Paul refused to give out that information. the employee at the other location could not believe the behavior i was having to deal with i called back once i got the managers name and asked to speak to Patrick the manager of franklin Nc location Patrick then came to the phone and i knew immediately why the employee acted so uncaring and with disregard for the customer it's because the manager Patrick treats customers the exact same way. we have rented from them for years and have never been treated this way. we are very disappointed and would not recommend anyone go to the franklin nc location read more

They let me reserve a car and then when I got there to pick up my car, they would not take my Visa debit credit card which the reservation was set up with and left me stuck in Franklin instead of getting home. The fact they would set up in verify my reservation on enterprise.com and then in the store turned me away was a terrible example of Customer Service and guaranteed that I will never go to enterprise Rent-A-Car again. read more

I guess it's not the fault of this location, but the reservation system will book you anything you want, and the day of your pickup, you'll get a call telling you that they don't have the vehicle you wanted. I have used this company for YEARS but never again. After a breakdown while away from home we were sent to a wrong location in Sylva then to Franklin ($100 taxi ride)... Then once we are there with our confirmed car (we gave all information over the phone including payment before we went there) we could not rent because we didn't have a credit card ( which I have never had to have before) she wouldn't take our bank card or cash. We were stranded and she could have cared less!!! In no way did she try to assist us at all! My car needed extensive repair and I was expected at my granddaughter's graduation. I called the reservation number and was quoted a price and given information about the car I was renting. When I arrived I was charged $40.00 more than the quote and a very different car from the one reserved. My first rental experience here began when all the snow fell and my truck slid into a tree forcing me to put it in the shop for 2 weeks, so obviously I needed a vehicle to get back and forth to school. There was a young gentlemen that checked me out when I returned the car and he was absolutely fantastic and even thanked me for my service as a Sailor in the Navy. I like him. He was thoughtful and sincere and has potential for great things just by observing his attitude alone. Wish the heck I could remember his name to give him credit. (He checked me out on 12/22/17) Anyways, thank you, young sir. Why this is 1 star... I am a veteran and Navy reservist while being a full-time student at Western Carolina. I commute from Franklin and most of my travel includes here to Sylva, Cullowhee and Augusta, GA, so I drive quite a bit and rely on personal transportation as a means to earn my paycheck and degree. After having my truck in the shop for the 2 weeks(the first time) it began to develop further serious internal mechanical problems and as soon as I got it back it had to go right back to another shop which is now going through an engine replacement. This is an expensive as well as tedious process, Im sure I dont have to go any further. This is the time of year for giving thanks, being grateful for the privileges and people we get to have in our lives and help those who need it. However, this is not the perspective of the "people" I dealt with the second time around. My mother, whom is my biggest supporter and wanted to help me through a tough time called into to this store, to my later regret, after I gave her the phone number and confirmation number to help pay for the cost of the rental for 2 weeks, which is the length of time I'll probably need for my truck to be 100%, got a representative who I can only describe as INCONSIDERATE, APATHETIC, CONFRONTATIONAL, NON-HELPFUL, and DIFFICULT to my mother who only wanted to help her son in a miserable financial situation. Things said along the lines of "your son was told this..., Im not gonna argue between you and your son.., and more". When I walked into the store, the excuse for this given to me was, "He's new, ya know, just trying to answer some phones...?" For the record, I was not directly told such a policy and 2nd, is this common dialogue to customers? Customer service is a tough thing, Ive worked in the hospitality and tourism for 4 years before I enlisted, so I know how people can be. However, I recommend a little more sincerity, respect and tactful approach to someone helping another in need. So because of the combined actions of this Michael dude and others, I will not return here with my business nor will I recommend this location. The guys at Enterprise in Franklin are great! A few weeks ago I rented a car from Enterprise in Greenville SC when my vehicle broke down in that area while working. I returned the rental to the Franklin store and the guys here took the drop off quickly and were very nice. I returned to the same Franklin location last week to rent another vehicle and received the same great customer service. NOT CLOSED! Enterprise in Franklin, NC 28734. I got a car from them last week. I have used Enterprise for many years and have always had a wonderful experience with the stuff. They always want to go above and be on to make me happy. One thing, this time, but only with a young man that was working in the back cleaning cars. He was asked to take my vehicle back and have it washed and vacuumed out, because it had dog hair all over the inside of it. Well, the young man took the vehicle back and then brought it back up front. The outside was clean, but the inside still had white dog hair all over it. Here's were it gets good, the young man in his suit took the vehicle back and vacuumed it out. What an awesome man! Like I said, going above and be on, to make me happy. I was very angry that I wasn't picked up after I scheduled on phone that I needed to be picked up, had make a call to be taken there. Was even more surprised to find out that the clarification of money was screwed up and wasn't made clear in any way. Also got there at 930am and stood there till 1100am due one person working and there was a line to the door. What a horror show. They never seem to answer their phone. The office does not have a working answering machine. After a certain number of rings, it rolls to a fax machine and hangs up. I made 15 calls over 2 hours before giving up. I borrowed a car to drive to their office so I could confirm my reservation and arrange a pickup. Then the rental charge that they quoted as $117 suddenly became $233 when they charged me twice for the drop-off fee. They finally corrected the overcharge. Unless I have absolutely no alternative, I will never ever rent from Enterprise again. read more

I hope I can change my 2 stars to 5 stars tomorrow. I picked up a Passat this morning, went out to dinner to find the A/C isn't working. When I called it in at 5:10 PM the female who responded was curt and abrupt, refused to take the phone number of my location and then I found out didn't document my trouble or even my call. I found this out when I called back at 6:32 and was told I can drive 139 miles tomorrow and get a replacement vehicle. Enterprise does not respond this way in their stores. read more

I have been working with this location since I moved to NC two years ago. Everyone is extremely friendly and willing to help. I've had ask for a pick from home and work. The driver was very personable. The office has a great manager! Usually when a person has to rent a car is under stressful situations (i.e. car repair, accident).
