Our cabin, the Pinery, offered modern amenities while still placing us away from the sounds of traffic. There were plenty of logs available down a short gravel road next to the office for the fireplace and the outdoor grill when we forgot to buy more charcoal. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen offered everything we needed for meals except the food. It provided a perfect backdrop for us to meet up with old friends for a long weekend!

We took the area in the back where we were the only ones...it is tucked away from the semi-permanent RVs in the front, and has its own toilet. There are some fire pits and we made a fire every evening and again when we woke up. Nice to sit by the fire and warm ourselves given the 45F lows when we were there. Overall a nice campground, with a friendly and helpful owner. He brought us firewood, and even some ice from his home. The bath house was easily the cleanest I have seen anywhere! I will stay here again!

The room and the bed are so comfortable I didn't want to leave. I lay in bed looking out the window at the lake and mountains and it made my heart sing. There's plenty of parking, clean restrooms, an indoor museum with a gift shop, the Mountain Farm Museum, hiking trails, and a large pasture where you might have the opportunity to see elk. We had a quick stop over so we didn't get to explore too much of the area, especially because we had our dog with us and it was quite a hot day. The indoor museum was curated well and was informative on the life in the Appalachians. The gift shop was nice, well stocked, and had plenty of options. I always buy something from National Park centers as a donation. I bought a sticker, a patch, and a magnet. They also have stamps for your National Park Passports, too!

You may see bears, so drive slowly and be prepared to stop (carefully!) for wildlife! The farm here was so peaceful and next to the stream, and there's a museum on site as well. There were baby birds screaming from a nest above the bathroom, too, which was bonus wildlife since I saw a bear slightly further in, but no elk this time!

The accommodations were great. The vibe was retro and family-oriented. Great place to hang your hat and come back to after a day of hiking and sight-seeing. The staff were personable, fun, and extremely helpful with input on what local sights and activities there were nearby. I ended up having a far better time than I would've had camping! Staff is observing COVID precautions while still maintaining a great posture with customers. 10/10 recommend this motel and all the area has to offer, COVID or no COVID.

They have gorgeous spots right on the river and I could hear the river as I slept and it was so soothing!! The owners are wonderful people and really want campers to enjoy every aspect of their stay. They came out when we came in to help us back camper in our spot. It's very close to town like 5 min drive but felt out in country. Our spot had a picnic table and fire pit. They have a pretty good size bath house with vending machines and at as use washers and dryers which would be good for long stays! Shower stalls were individual bathrooms for privacy .. updated and very clean. We came before Halloween and it had decor for the holiday.. you could stay in camper, they had cabins, and tepees for unique stay. Most were damaged by storm but will be ready for following year. I thought that was really interesting.. i read reviews from previous years about wifi being terrible but we didn't have that issue. We didn't really spend all day at campground we came to see and spend time in the area so we were only using wifi at night and in morning with coffee. I would highly recommend this campground.. it was a great stay and I hated to leave.

There is dog run, a laundrymat, a little store with a free library. You can go down to the creek where guests have access. The water is city water unlike other campgrounds near by who have really bad well water. A plus is also that we have super 5G reception here for our internet router. The campground also has basic free internet to stay connected. The rates are reasonable especially the weekly and monthly rates if you want to stay a season. The bed was comfy and bathroom good size. It was a very comfortable and cozy experience, with a fireplace inside and another on the back deck where you can sit out and enjoy the beautiful views. Everything was very clean. We loved sitting out & eating breakfast looking at the Smokies and at night sitting outside with the fireplace. The cabin is clearly well taken care of and next to it there is a hutch with chickens, a Guinea hen, and rabbits. Joe lives nearby and has alot of good recommendations. Protip: arrive before dark, the roads are windy and steep at times. The nearby town of Bryson City has everything you would likely need & is very cute.
