Terrible experience this morning. Called and made a reservation on the phone for. $4? Small car. Uber to pick up the car and was told when I arrived the rates had went up to $65 and that's what my reservation was for. I called HB enterprise and was told sorry for your bad experience we would be more that happy to accommodate you today if you can work with us in time. I said no problem and now I'm headed to enterprise in HB. Don't do business with Costa Mesa enterprise. They will bait and switch you even if you have a reservation. They will also sell you a story about how busy they are and that it's corporates fault the prices went up. This is a fake story. read more

Good and bad...the good, the counter person, Victoria was an absolute sweetheart.....the bad, 15 minutes to wait in line. It's not a grab and go location. The other thing is, I'm an executive elite so you would think at a grab and go location they would give you nicer vehicles due to status....they gave me a stripped down midsize suv...nothing but the windows were automatic...I was surprised it actually had an FM radio....also when I dropped it off at the airport, the signage is good to the point where to park it...there are typically people to guide you in but they were otherwise preoccupied so I had to pull over and ask where to park.... read more

I had a car repair from a body shop, and they dropped me off at this site. The workers were friendly and helped me out especially since it was an insurance repair rental process who was handling my car reservation. They knew exactly what to do, and I had a vehicle within 10 minutes of arriving. I had a rental for eleven days, with no issues, but windshield washer fluid light went on. It didn't bother me since I did not use it much. Overall, as I was returning the vehicle with my kids it was a smooth transition returning the vehicle. The guy took my keys, inspected it and I was done. I did not have to wait too long, explained it to me, and we were out of there in less than 10 minutes. The worker did take us to the body shop. Downfall I guess you can say was this lot gets full easily, but I'm glad I had a standard suv ready to go once I arrived. read more

This is by far the best enterprise I have been to. I needed a rental due to an accident and was having issues with the insurance. Ryan Williams the assistant manager at the store was so helpful. He even called the insurance for me to assist me getting the car. I spoke to Thomas the day before on the phone who was also tremendous help. Even the person who picked me up from Enterprise to bring me to the location was awesome. I live in mission viejo but I'd drive to this location anytime I need a rental from here on out. I recently rented a vehicle from this Enterprise location, and while the car itself was great, the customer service experience was all over the place. This location is very busy, so be prepared for a long wait--it is definitely not a quick in-and-out process. When I went to return my car, the line was almost out the door, and instead of managing the rush, the manager sent all the front desk staff to lunch at 11 AM, leaving herself as the only person checking customers in and out. The staff was polite, but there needs to be either more employees or better time management to handle the high volume of customers. If you're renting from this location, just be prepared to bring some patience. read more

I rented a car from this location last week. Upon arrival I waited for 10 minutes in the lobby with not one employee present. When he finally came out to help me it took 45 minutes for them to get my car ready that I had previously reserved. And then when I returned the car I realized I left my bag In the backseat, I tried to get it back and they had gone through my bag, took an item out that was just sitting in their front office and said they "threw away" the other items and the bag itself. We rented a minivan from this location for one week. The car was not ready at the scheduled time and we waited about 45 minutes. When the van came in it was in very poor shape. It had over 65K miles and every single section had a scratch or dent or mark. We mentioned this to the agent and she said they knew about the damage and it would not be a problem because it was documented. We nonetheless videoed the whole vehicle for our protection. We then had a flat tire during our trip because the vehicle had been given to us with a screw in the tire and we had been losing air from the start. Upon return they looked at the vehicle said it was fine and we left. I then received notice from my insurance one month later that they were making a claim against my insurance for damage. I spoke with someone at their "damage recovery unit" and told them I had video proof that the vehicle was damaged upon rental. I also went to the BBB and filed a complaint as I believe this is basically fraud on the part of Enterprise. Enterprise eventually dropped the claim but they insisted that I had "initialed" that the vehicle had no damage and that they were just doing out of good customer service! Please do not rent from this company and if you do you should insist on something IN WRITING from them showing any existing damage before you leave the lot. This just seems to be a way of making extra $$ for them because I'm sure some people just let it go since it was only about $200. read more

Very happy with this Enterprise team. I recently had my car repaired at a local auto body shop and enterprise and the company work closely together so I was able to quickly get a rental car. The service was fast and great. I would say the only hiccup was the car that I originally got, I had it for three days and one of the tires kept losing air. I put air in the tire daily and finally, it was causing so much delay for me so I called into their office and they offered to give me another car so I could be on my way. All of their cars were almost gone, but I got really lucky because they were able to give me a free upgraded car because of inconvenience. I was able to get in and get out without any issues. Shout out to their team for making it very convenient for me to rent at their location. Plus, when I return the car, One of their employees personally drove me back to the autobody shop to pick up my car. A+ read more

Enterprise Rent a car on Harbor and Bay is great! Picked us up from caliber collision. Our driver was amazing knowledgeable and was fast. Turns out Brandon Shuki is the manager. He hooked us up with quite a deal. Same car I drive. Mercedes GLE what I drive! However I just left the lot and need to return as my tire light went on it's says it at 17. Not their fault. And wow! Again he did us good! A Range Rover baby! And got it covered by my awesome insurance! read more

I was going to get this place one star but at least it's clean and smells good. Tried picking up a rental that was made for me by Mercury insurance and was denied by Kyle on some made up company policy. Do you know how I know it was made up? I called two enterprises in a row and the employees there, told me that was incorrect. Representative was very nice assured me it was cleaned inside until you open the front door and was able to rub off the white crusty stuff that's caked on the driver side. They said they would clean it up. DO NOT RENT FROM the Enterprise Rental at 2036 Harbor Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA !!!! I needed car service at car dealership located next to this rental. I used this location in the past because I am disabled and it is close to my car service. Despite having reservations, I've always had to wait 1-2 hrs to get car. This is difficult being disabled but put up with the delays due to the location. I called this Enterprise and reserved a car for 8:00AM. I was given a confirmation # and a confirmation email was sent. I was told I was a VIP customer due to my past rentals. One hour before I was to drop off my car for service and pick up my rental, I recd a call from Brandon at Enterprise. He said he could get me a car later in the day, around 1:00. I told him I'd have to contact car service to see if I can move my appt. I moved service, called Brandon back and he now says he won't have a car available for 1-2 DAYS?! Find another rental company, this one is only concerned about the bottom line, I rented a car and it broke down seven times, i had to jump it and other times i had to wait on side of the road four hour or so, brought it back in with a jumper attached to it, and receives another car, i was told they would give me a four day allowance, i picked up my other car had no problems, then weeks latter they charged my card and said they never offered four days, I can not believe it, they had to send the car i had out for repairs so obviously it had problems, they make promises and do not live up to them, i am just beginning with this and will see it though its the principal, RENT ELSWARE read more

Really didn't want to write this review but it needs to be said. The way they charge your card when renting from them is idiotic. They charged me weekly for my rental and then charged me the entire balance once I turned the car in. The original charges seemed to have dropped off but there was no explanation from anybody about their billing schedule. I called the manager, Nick, and sent him an email showing the charges. He told me he would look into it but never responded. They are friendly and took care of me when I had car issues 4 different times but the lack of communication is extremely frustrating. The staff here are great and very courteous. It's a smaller enterprise so the office doesn't have much space to wait. One thing is that the lot is quite small with barely any parking spaces and right by the road ( sharp turn in). The car USB charger port is broke, inside of car has stains, and terrible service. I felt brushed off by this employee. I understand that they close at 1pm on Saturdays. The car ticks while driving from the rear wheel and transmission feels like it's going out. Mind you the first car she gave me had an engine light on. We came unannounced and without a reservation on a Saturday morning and asked for the Ford F-150 in their lot. Unfortunately it was already booked but Steven was awesome and hooked it up with the Ford Expedition instead which actually worked out great for our needs. We returned it after they closed (not realizing they closed so early), but he had stuck around and ultimately helped us check out quick and easily. Honestly I had a good first experience with these guys. I've always rented w/ enterprise, but this time it was through my insurance from an accident. My car was getting fixed at Caliber Collision which is near by and the guys at Enterprise were nice enough to pick me up from there and drop me off when my car was done. I ended up getting a rental from this place around the time of Christmas so most of their cars were out. They have a lot of MBZ rentals here because it's sponsored by Fletcher Jones. I was a bit disappointed because they had a C300 on the lot, but the guy wouldn't rent it to me because a lot of them are due for recall, yet ALL the other C classes were rented out? I ended up w/ a mustang convertible which wasn't bad, but one of the rear windows wouldn't close all the way so the wind noise got kind of annoying on the freeway. That mustang sure got a lot of attention and turned a lot of heads! Other than that I can't complain since it's just a rental, but thank god my insurance covered my 8 day rental. This enterprise is in a small lot so be careful. I'd probably rent w/ them again if I needed to because the pricing is pretty fair for the types of vehicle you're getting read more

The car was not very clean and the gas tank was not full on pickup. I missed the last gas station before the car return. Left the car with 3/4 of a tank. They charged $8.49 per gallon for gas. This is a basically a theft. Fuel in the area is well under $4.00 per gallon. I get a premium, maybe $4.50 or $4.75 per gallon, but $8.49. This is counter to their mission of providing a service at a reasonable rate. I WILL NEVER USE FOX RENT A CAR IN THE FUTURE!!! read more

Stay away! This is not a joke, what Enterprise calls a "confirmed reservation" is not a guarantee you'll have a car for you. They treat them like leads in order to market to you to rent a car later when business is slower. And the customer service at this location could care less and does absolutely nothing to remedy this situation. Wasting my time and causing me to frantically look for available cars at other agencies across town on a busy weekend. I have been renting a car from your company for over a year and a half and before that for three years.  So I believe I am a loyal and long standing customer.  But I was not treated that way when I went into the Costa Mesa office yesterday to renew my car for more time.  Your new manager Jeff displayed a disgusting lack of customer service with lies and sexiest behavior.  His lies and actions showed that he thought I was uneducated and stupid because I am an "Old Lady". When I arrived I saw all new faces so I asked if Stephen was then and I was told by a few young men that he was Promoted to one of your larger location and It was a great promotion.  I was very happy that he has moved up.  I watched him change in the time I rented at that location and the change was for good so it was a nice surprise to hear of his promotion.  Then when Jeff came and introduced himself to me he started to explain that he was not going to do anything for me in regards to the raising prices of your cars.  When I mentioned that the last manager was willing to work with me Jeff informed me that because the last manager gave price break like mine he is no longer there.  I told him that the young men told me he received a big promotion and then Jeff repeated that he is no longer there because of what he did.  He also said that Stephan was in trouble because of it. I was so disgusted with the treatment and flat out lies he was telling that I told him cancel my reservation and take me home. First of all that information and even if it were true should never be told to a customer,  Second for a manager to throw another manager under the bus with such lies is sickening.  Last did he really think I was such a stupid old lady that I would not find out the truth? Is this the type of behavior you tell your managers its ok?  I have had problems with customer service before with some of your employees before but this was over and above sickening if this is the tactics your company has stooped too is sad. I am a yelper and any social media to use as my platform to let other people know the good and bad of companies.  So I will be posting this as soon as possible. Jeff is worse then a typical annoying car sales person.  And if your company is condoning this then your company joins all the other companies that want to use the virus as an excuse to treat people terribly and raise prices needlessly. You advertise that you are a good company and pride yourself in great customer service but it is not the case. I would refer people to your company but will no longer do that and will post this on other social media to warn people before they go to your company and be treated in this manner. Yep, when they take the time to deal with your questions both on the phone and in person, when they work with you to get the best vehicle for the best price, when they go out of their way to get through their process quickly, and when they are flexible on vehicle choices. This location is great, and Steven and the woman who picked us up and checked us out were awesome. I had to be somewhere and misjudged the time it would take for Enterprise to pick me up and deal with the paperwork, but they got me in and out in an incredibly short time - even after I switched vehicles on them. I used to come to this place to rent my car , but this last time a rented a vehicle they blamed me for marks that were on the car. Before we took the car the rep, my kids and I all told him to please note the marks he said he did but he didn't. When i returned it they blamed me and restricted me. I told them who helped and told them to check cameras the day of rental so they can see that we were looking at it before i left. Well no one helped me or followed up with me. Even though I asked them to review my previous rentals. BE AWARE TAKE VIDEO AND PICTURES BEFORE YOU LEAVE. I now found a different rental place very friendly and thorough.
