He made a phone call and told me to wait outside and someone would pick me up and take me to a place. I figured it would be some random place with the worst broken down cars. I was dropped off at a small office minutes from the airport. I walked in and the person there was AMAZING! He was friendly, took my information, and within minutes, I was driving out in a nice medium size car. I worried that the return process would cause a problem. I guess, I was just waiting for the other foot to drop. Could it really be this great? The answer is YES! It truly was. No complaints at all. I rented from a different Enterprise location about a year ago and was given an older, dirty vehicle, so I appreciated the wash. (Though, I wish they also vacuumed the back seat because it had some dog hair). Not a big deal though. Despite not having a huge selection of vehicles, they still had a comfortable SUV that worked perfectly for my needs. I also loved how convenient the process was. The body shop arranged for Enterprise to pick me up, and when my repairs are finished, I can simply return the rental at the body shop and pick up my car. I said no problem and now I'm headed to enterprise in HB. Don't do business with Costa Mesa enterprise. They will bait and switch you even if you have a reservation. They will also sell you a story about how busy they are and that it's corporates fault the prices went up. This is a fake story.

Never do business at this Hertz…read more -When arriving for my reservation the 1st thing that was said is "I thought we moved your reservation to another location", but it wasn't. -Next they said they don't have a car for me & that their manager called me to let them know, but they hadn't. -Got the employee's name, the manager's biz card, & told them I was stepping outside to call customer support while waiting for a car. Not a minute late, they suddenly had a car for me that they were "holding" it aside for an account. Not "reserved", "holding" basically just in case. -I reserved a Mid-Size SUV, they gave me a Compact SUV (Chevy Trax). When I asked if that was at or above the class I reserved, they said it was a free upgrade & quoted $200 more total if they charged me the correct price for the car they gave me. -My reservation was for 6-days at $186, they changed it to $212 on the contract for my "free upgrade" without saying anything. Especially ironic since they gave me a lower class car that should have led to them lowering the price of my rental. -When returning the car, a customer in front of me was picking up his reservation & a different employee told them, "I thought we moved your reservation to another location". Clearly a shared & dishonest practice among staff when not able to fulfill reservations. -It was really busy so that same employee announced "Anyone who's returning can just drop the keys w/ me & you'll get an emailed receipt", so I did that. Unfortunately they didn't close my rental out til 3 day later so I was over charged. Plus they added a late fee. -After 2 hrs of hold time & conversation with their support team, they finally agreed to refund me the overages & lower the price of the rental since I was actually downgraded from my reservation, not given a free upgrade. How can one rental experience include this much dishonesty & mistakes made by staff? Cause it's this location's brand. It's what they do, it's their operational standard & culture.

It wasn't, which was understandable. She was told to wait until 12pm, which she had no issue doing so. The problem was that by 12:30, they still didn't have a vehicle for her. When she asked about another vehicle, she was told she would have to pay an upgrade fee despite the company being unable to provide the vehicle she had reserved at the scheduled pickup time. While she waited, my father called to see if the fee could be waived, since he was the one who made the reservation. He was placed on hold for over 10 minutes before a female employee hung up on him. He called back and was hung up on a second time. He then called two more times which were ignored. By this point, it was nearly 12:50, almost an hour after my mom was supposed to receive her rental. I called my mom for an update, and while speaking with her, I could hear a man named Joe talking to her in a rude and condescending manner. He told her he had a Jeep available and that she could either take it or leave it. He then added that "in life things happen" and she needed to learn how to deal with situations that don't have the outcome she wants. This was completely unnecessary considering my mom had remained respectful throughout the entire ordeal and was simply asking for a reasonable solution after waiting nearly an hour past her reservation time. After hearing the way he was speaking to her, I told my mom to tell him to watch his effing attitude. I was unaware that I was on speaker. Joe immediately became angry and claimed he would not tolerate being disrespected by being cursed at or yelled at. When, ironically, he and his employee were the only ones who had been disrespectful up to that point by hanging up on customers twice, ignoring follow-up calls, and speaking to my mom in a condescending manner. I explained that I was not speaking to him directly and certainly was not yelling at him. Joe then made several false claims. He accused my father of yelling and cursing at him, which never happened. He also claimed we had called 7 times, when in reality there were four calls total, two answered and two ignored. The only profanity used during the entire interaction was my comment to my mom, which was not directed at Joe. He then used these false accusations as justification for refusing to rent a vehicle to my mother altogether. Instead of taking responsibility for failing to honor the reservation, Joe and his staff blamed the customer, refused service, and left my mother without transportation after more than an hour of waiting. It's understandable that unexpected delays can happen. On the other hand, hanging up on customers, making false accusations, and treating people with disrespect is not. Given the number of inaccurate claims that were made to justify refusing service, I would not be surprised if management attempts to dispute this review. However, the events described here occurred exactly as stated.
