They are open 3 hours a day on weekends. We arrived for our scheduled 12pm time 7 minutes late(we have kids). Apparently they close at noon and still allow people to have appointments at this time. Doors were locked and the employees refused to see us. Rescheduled for 12pm the next day as that's when they opened. Arrived early and they told us to come back at 130. Came back at 130 and the vehicle wasn't ready until after 2pm. We are now 5 hours late. With a lot full of vehicles they had to shuttle people to the airport and some to another branch 30 minutes away. We ordered a full size suv and they gave us a compact but kept the price of a full size suv. Never using this service again. read more

I frequently use rental cars for work travel, usually just short day trips, so the staff at this location learned my face pretty quick. There have only been one or two occasions where they were unable to honor my reservation at all and sent me to the airport instead. That's definitely the biggest downside is that these Enterprise locations don't work together despite it being all one brand. (We have a better plan now if that does have to happen again, thankfully.) One time the car I was given started acting up only a few minutes into my drive and they were all over it as I called from the road to come back and swap it out. Easily a worst case scenario when renting a vehicle, especially to drive through a rural state, and they handled it with the utmost attention and professionalism. I advise reserving well in advance and looking out for their confirmation call (or lack of) so you always have that in your pocket as a negotiating point. I find the online booking system pretty easy to navigate and they do offer a rewards program. This location is also really convenient access to several main access roads and highways - grab your rental and hit the road! read more

I've had some great experiences with Enterprise on Dodge Street, I've also had some instances where I came in and there was not a vehicle available, but they did provide me with one before I left. I have used them on a regular basis over the last four years, and would recommend them to anyone that is looking for a rental, just like with any other company, there will be some customers that are not satisfied just because they are the type of people you cannot satisfy as for me and my family. Very very bad experience with this car rental. I make a reservation for a 15 seats van with them 2 MONTHS ahead of my trip. 1 week before the pick up day I came to their office at Dodge Rd NE and asked if my reservation still good and secure, they said yes it is good. 3 days before my trip I came back again and asked if I could have the vehicle 2 hours earlier than the reservation, they said of course I could. OK, I am ready to my vacation. Suddenly, the day right before my trip they called me to let me know that they did not have ANY 15 seats vehicle available for rent. Okay so enterprise is reaching out to me after all this time when they ignored my every attempt to call that year. I called more than 30 times to complain of harassment and racketeer practices. You don't threaten police on a person when a vehicle is paid for and you don't go back on your word. I had to make Kristian give me a refund. He is racist. Saw my pic of my lawyer and my daughter, both black, and renigged his deal. Have a nice life enterprise. You won't be getting my business ever again. See New Pic! This is the letter of harassment that I received from their debt collector after they overcharged me and did not want me having a premium vehicle. They were paid that day. Needless to say on November 24th that vehicle had already been paid for moreover than a $1,000 overcharge for insurance, fees, and miscellaneous driving amounts they tacked on. Once confronted they tried bargaining and I have the video and emails to back this all up too. These guys will do anything to make a buck. I read up on the company and they charge you based on what you look like and if your are with insurance. I had insurance. I also had a similar problem at the airport one there in CR which they usually were nice but that same Rebecca Kelley got on the phone and tried to over charge me. She charged $1,400 for a windshield damage not checked out by them prior to renting it as they are supposed to. It was not caused by me. Then I get my credit card bill of $1,400 without my consent or telling me. Again it was this lady in the letter who charged it. They all work together to see how they can over charge. I do not recommend them as Christian offered me on that Black Friday to pay $150 and he would let me keep it and renigged his deal with me as soon as he saw my rep was black on my phone and a pic of my daughter which she is biracial black and white. Sad I spent over $5,000 there and they treated me like garbage. I had the police called on me and I was assaulted by him when I was trying to get in my rented and paid for vehicle and then I went to physical therapy for this which I paid for cause there were no witnesses to his assault. He gave me the refund when I threatened to sue and then left me on the side of the road, banned me, and told me to get off his property. Meanwhile I live in Marshalltown and had to walk home. Where the July 19th tornado hit and pretty well record my vehicle. Thanks Christian for your wonderful abusive treatment. I have never had the police called or treated this way until after I had a mixed child. Now it's people like this who do it all the time. Racists. There was a girl with the police officer there that day with blonde hair that was his sister and laughed at me. (Edited) I thought she was Rebecca and I had been so harassed I yelled I thought it was her. She laughed at me and smiled. I rented from enterprise Cedar Rapids through my insurance company due to accident and my car will be on the shop for 10 days. The rental they gave us had a very very VERY strong cigarette smell. I called in get the car exchange they didn't have any car to offer. When I rented the car I told the sale person to ONLY put basic coverage on the car for 24 hours until I am sure my METLife ins will cover the rental. When I dropped the car off they charged me for 10 days basic coverage at 20 dollars a day. I usually rented with Hertz and will not return to enterprise ever again. I came in today with my rental that I've been driving for 3 months, ( work provided) because of a recall. I asked Christian the rep I was dealing with if I could get that vehicle back after the repair. He said he could not guarantee it but would do his best. I switched vehicles and went on my way. Less that 2 hours later Christian called me and said he got the issue resolved at the Jeep dealership and I could have the Cherokee back if I still wanted it. I was super happy. I had a deer hit my car and progressive told me to call them. I called and they first told me they had a car, then when I called back a gentleman told me they had nothing. It is now sat am and I called once and they hung up on me, then I call back and I am on hold now for 30 minutes. I also did some checking on web sites and they say different prices then what they give you on the phone. I should have discounts threw my paint and aqha and insurance for renting a car, should not be this hard to get someone to answer the phone. read more

I was led around in circles and asked to provide certain information which I did and they still kept coming up with reasons why I couldn't get a rental. They say they are flexible on return time, but won't let you leave your car there over the weekend while you rent their car forcing you to rent within their pickup times. They were late picking me up and even though I told them my place is difficult to find they didn't ask for directions so the driver had to call when he couldn't find my home. The car was nice and clean. The person who inspected the car with me was thorough. They put pressure on you to get their insurance so be sure you know what coverage your credit card offers before you go there. I stuck around after to be sure to take part in the after inspection and to get receipt since I didn't buy their insurance and I didn't want any surprises since I returned the car the way it was rented to me. They were busy when I returned the car, but they took care of me quite quickly. read more

This company will file false damage claims to your insurance. Buyer beware, Kristian Gardner the assistant mgr will find something wrong with vehicle only when you return it. Take lots of photos before taking the keys. I have rented thru this company in many states as a USAA member and have always been satisfied. When I returned my vehicle last Saturday Kristian attempted to file a false claim thru my insurance without any evidence. When I asked him to please send me the pictures of the damage he is claiming, he said there is no need to send me the pictures since he showed me the damage and I already agreed. I requested the entire claim and he said that the vehicle was already sent to the shop. I ordered a compact and instead was given a Jeep compass as an upgrade. Makes me wonder what they had planned for the upgrade. Here is a copy of the letter from the DRU below. Hopefully nobody else needs to go thru this mess. Very shady, stay clear of this place. In December 2016, I was in a car accident and the driver who caused the accident had Progressive Insurance. Per their policy, they covered rental car charges. At the Cedar Rapids Branch Office, located at 1800 Dodge Rd NE, upon arrival I had the Progressive Representative and Enterprise Representative on speaker phone ensuring the expenses would be approved by covered by the insurance. After receiving this affirmation, I was told they would need to place a $50.00 deposit on my debit card and that is all I would be charged for. The fact of the matter is, I was charged over $1,300.00 of fees from Enterprise Rent A Car which accounted for 4 separate unapproved debits from my account. To make matters worse, I didn't even receive my deposit back. I have no records of their charges, no proof of the $1,300.00 fees just debits to my account. Once I called in, I was told it was insurance that the insurance company didn't cover. I was my clear understanding all items were being covered. I would NOT elect to add services that were not covered specifically in an accident that wasn't my fault. The newly hired Enterprises Representative (first day on the job) at Enterprise DID NOT represent I would be charged daily insurance, and certainly not $40.00 per day. So much so, I had given her my insurance information. I called the Cedar Rapids Enterprise NE Office located at 1800 Dodge Rd NE when I realized I had been over charged. Initially said they would handle the situation. Now a week later they have no intention of assisting what is clearly misrepresentation. I am completely disappointed in Enterprise of Cedar Rapids. I would not recommend their services. I would highly recommend documenting your conversations and reviewing the contracts that they rush you through and say.. sign here, initial here, sign here, initial here. I rent cars all over the US, prior to this experience, satisfied member of Enterprise Plus. "Enterprise - We'll pick you up!" That's there slogan, right? The last time I rented from Enterprise was one of the most profoundly negative experiences of my life. I reserved a compact car for a day trip to drive across the state. First, when I went to pick up my reserved compact, they didn't have it. Normally I'd be okay with that as they upgraded me free of charge but out of the half dozen or so times I've rented from them, they had to upgrade me in nearly all of them because my reserved car was not available. The trip went fine up to when I turned around to drive home, my GPS malfunctioned and sent me in the wrong direction which (long story short), ended in a bad car accident in the middle of nowhere. It was a bad accident, one that I was lucky to walk away from. Luckily, not only had I purchased the insurance but the tow truck driver was nice enough to give me a lift to the nearest hotel. I immediately called Enterprise's 24 hour hotline and left a message with my local Enterprise office. The operator on the hotline was very nice and understanding and advised me to call the nearest Enterprise in the morning to arrange for another car. I did just that, I called the nearest Enterprise - and quickly learned that they were not open on weekends and didn't offer roadside pickup. So I called the hotline again and they informed me that the nearest open Enterprise was in Kansas City, MO, eighty miles away. So I called them, explained my situation and asked them to please send whatever car they had. They politely informed me that they could not deliver a car to my location...and offered no other solution. At this point I was starting to lose my patience. I explained (this time more slowly) that I had rented from them and was now stranded, in the middle of nowhere, very far from home and that their company's slogan was "Enterprise - We'll pick you up!" The only thing she suggested to me was to drive to Kansas City (eighty miles in the WRONG direction) and rent a car from that location. How profoundly stupid. If I could drive to St. Louis, I wouldn't be stranded, would I? So I called the corporate hotline again and explained quite plainly that the town I was in had nothing. There was no bus line, no train, no auto rental places, not even a cab company. I explained how frustrated I was at how incredibly unhelpful Enterprise had been. I expected an apology, I expected him to take down my contact info and explain that he'd make some calls and get me a car by the end of the day, tomorrow at the latest. I expected SOMETHING. A discount on my next rental? And apology? ANYTHING. What did he say? He suggested that I drive to St. Louis, MO and rent a car from the airport there. Again, I explained that if I had a mode of travel available, I wouldn't be stranded. He offered me no options and no apologies. In the end a friend had to make the fifteen hour trip to pick me up and take me home. Enterprise left me stranded in the middle of nowhere for three days. Not once did they try to help or apologize for their inaction. And here is the cherry on top. Remember how I had called both the hotline and the local office to report my accident? Two days after finally arriving home, the jackass who had rented me the car at the local office called me to ask if that van I had rented had been in an accident. read more
