One of the best car rental experience we've ever had. While our car was in the body shop, we rented through Enterprise. We lucked out because they had an EV available, the latest Nissan Leaf. She called me when we were coming up against our max coverage to make sure we were aware that there would soon be out pocket expenses. My experience with enterprise was top-notch. It's rare to get exceptional customer service these days, so I was pleasantly surprised with the prompt, courteous, and professional experience I received. I picked up a rental due to my vehicle being stolen, and AAA provided a rental through enterprise. It was a seamless pickup and drop-off experience. Even though enterprise usually only does local drop-offs once you return your vehicle, Mark was kind enough to have his coworker David drop me off at the repair shop to grab my recently recovered vehicle. Both Mark and David were fun to talk to, and David was an exceptionally good driver, putting me at ease while cautiously dodging a bad driver. 5 STARS for Mark Yogi, Customer Service Representative! Mark drove the shuttle van and picked me up from the auto body shop, then he checked me in. He deftly presented my car options and of course I couldn't resist the vehicle with the most additional cost, no problem. But he showed his EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE after I returned the car. A week later I discovered I had accidentally left my dog's dog seat shoulder belt strap in the rental. I called and fortunately Mike picked up. I explained what happened and he called the current renter of the vehicle who confirmed the strap was still in the car. Mike said he'd call me in a week when the vehicle returned. He kept his promise and called me that he had the strap in safekeeping. So I drove over and recovered it. He was a busy bee, checking out another customer, moving cars in the pouring rain, and helping new customers in the office, but he nonetheless made me feel like I was his only customer. This is the worst enterprise location!! My regular car got hit and is being repaired by a local body shop just down the road form this place. My insurance made the reservations for me and they called the same day. I told them I was waiting for insurance approval for the repair but that I would need a full size car since I am talk person. she told me no problem we will make sure we have a full size car avialable. Three days later I got the call that I could bring my car in. I told the body shop that I need to make sure enterprise has a car for me. I called them on Monday and talked to a lady, and told her that I was going to drop my car off first thing Wed Morning. I wanted to make sure they have a full size car for me on Wed morning. She told me no problem we will have one here and waiting. It is now Wed night and you guessed it not only did they not have a full size car waiting for me they kept trying to cram me into a car I do not fit into. They final pushed me in to this piece of garbage Jeep Suv. this is the smallest SUV every. The engin shakes viloently when you start it. They gave me less than 1/2 a tank of gas which there is NO excuse for! And to top it off they gave me a car wthin a key fob that is dying. DO not rent here!! They will lie to you and rent you a piese of garbage. Stay away! read more

We rented a minivan for our 2.5wk road trip. Having used Enterprise before for other trips with a great experience, it was a no-brainer for us to use them again for this trip. The vehicle we received was clean, in practically-new condition, and ready on the day/time that we reserved. As it was a longer trip this time with three generations of family in the van during this crazy pandemic time, it was a complete relief to see how clean it was and how perfectly it performed through the long drive. When we went to return it at the end of the rental period, Gabe really made the return process effortless. Like others, I was here for a rental while my car was being repaired at the body shop. I went for the economy size despite my luxury car size in the name of mercy for the guy who kissed my bumper. Jackie got me in and out of there that morning within 15 minutes. There was only one other person ahead of me. I wasn't impressed with the cobalt blue Hundai Accent at all though. I had to note all the dings in it. It wasn't even washed, and the interiors equated to a "beater" in my opinion with a not so nice scent. When I returned it, Don checked me out. He was very charming, efficient and affable like Jackie. It's the reason for the star rating. Unless, you are looking for something specific here and let that be known, you may be disappointed. If I ever end up here in the future, I will specify and not assume, I'll be getting a clean car. read more

I cannot rave enough about this location! I had my car breakdown unexpectedly and Enterprise made it quick and easy to rent a car while mine was in the shop. I reserved it late afternoon and was able to have it immediately! I was picked up from work from Enterprise to the pick up location. The paperwork took approx. 5 minutes. Can't beat that! I was well on my way! I was given a Chevy Cruze. It was very clean, full tank of gas, etc.The next day I returned the car, another 5 minutes and they dropped me off at the shop where my car was! So convenient! THE EMPLOYEES! They are the most courteous, hospitable, easy-going bunch! I don't think I've ever been treated so kindly from any business before. I sorta want to hang out there for the positive good vibes. It definitely left a mark on me, especially after having a crappy few days about my personal car. I have been booking with enterprise for about 4 years now all along the bay area. I have always had good experiences. But this is about an experience that was bad at first, but turned into the best I've had with the company. I booked an intermediate suv. Yes, it was right before thanksgiving weekend. Got there and was nicely greeted and taken out to see my rental. When I saw it, it was hard to hide the unpleasant look on my face. How in the hell is a subaru crosstrek similar to a rav4? And how is it even considered an intermediate suv when my honda cr-v is an intermediate suv and is so much bigger!!! I really dont get it. Well, that was the suv that they had to offer in that category. I booked an intermediate suv to be able to comfortably take my mom (who is physically disabled) on a little vacation. There was no way she was gonna be able to bend to get into that subaru which in my opinion is the size of a full size car at most. I expressed my concern to the person who helped me. The best thing he had to offer was a truck. Now I specifically didn't want a truck because gas mileage is insane, and he quickly offered to give it to me at a discounted rate for the inconvenience. He apologized several times and I was on my way. Today upon returning it, I returned it with a half tank of gas which he credited me for. This person went above and beyond to make an unhappy customer satisfied. No arguing or attitudes took place. This person is a great asset to your team and I will definitely be returning to this location. read more

Casey, you're my hero! You saved me! I've used Enterprise all over the world and the service is usually unmatched. I'm not sure what went wrong on this day, but the planets must have been thrown out of line by a meteor shower or something because my car rental experience went terribly wrong. Never fear - it was saved here! I had reserved a car at the Carlmont Drive (San Mateo) location because I've been going there for years. I pulled into the lot in a rush trying to pick up my car before a meeting to find them hosing down my car. The car was filthy, inside and out. Even after they cleaned it, I had to go back inside and ask the guy behind the counter to wipe the gross stuff out of the cup holders. (It was so disgusting, it took him over five minutes to clean them. Seriously EW!) The outside was still stained with dirt, but I didn't have time to wait for it to be cleaned properly. As I pulled out of the lot, the front end "clunked" going out of the driveway. It sounded like someone had taken this car four-wheeling and the shocks were gone. I kept going thinking it wouldn't bother me, but by the time I was ten minutes down the road, the car was really bothering me. It was uncomfortable, noisy and felt like it really needed some love. I called Carlmont and asked for another car. They said they had no cars, but that a few would be back late in the day and I could bring it back for a trade. Fast forward to 5:15. I'm stuck in traffic on 101 and it's looking like a close call to make it there before 6:00. No way could I drive this car to LA the next day, so I ditch the highway, start taking back roads and call Carlmont to tell them I'm on the way. I'm told they still have no car for me and to try the Hillsdale store. A bit disgruntled that they didn't call me, but it's 5:30 and I'm running out of time. I call Hillsdale and all they could offer me was a dinky car that was worse than what I was driving. Aaaaahhhh! There had to be another Enterprise somewhere that could help. I do a quick search and find one in Belmont. That's when I found Casey! Cheery Casey, Manager extraordinairre! He tells me to head right over and he'll hook me up with another car. Turns out I was a block away. I pull in and get fabulous service from the girl at the desk (sorry, I can't remember your name), thank Casey (I would have kissed him, but he was in a hurry) and off I went happily to my home to pack for Disneyland. Not only did Casey hook me up with a nice car for my Mother's Day Disney trip, but he also had a chat with the boys at Carlmont and Hillsdale about how they could have been more helpful to me in my time of need. I am very dissatisfied with my service this morning. I had to pick up a rental car that was paid for by my company and was not to have paid anything upfront or out of pocket. I get there at 9am as that was my pick up time everything was going smoothly I gave them my company info and my ID, then they asked for a card did not originally tell me what they needed it for until I asked myself and the guy said oh there's a $300 deposit. I told him it was company paid for and they pay insurance for that specific reason so there wouldn't be any out of pocket charges. He then said well I could do $100. Like how do we go from $300-$100? I called my company to confirm that I should not be paying anything, and they said I should not have to pay anything that's why they pay $5 a day to not have this happen. When i told this to the service guy he called his manager but only to ask if he has to charge the deposit doesn't mention the insurance the company has to cover it. The manager i guess told him he has to charge a deposit and there is no way around it. Called my company again tried to give them a card over the phone, they would not accept it, so i had to ask my mom to transfer money over to help me cover this unexpected expense. My company said this has never happened and never been an issue. 10 other people had to get rentals and did not have this happen to them. They have sent an email and have been trying to call this enterprise. I was sitting there as the phone was ringing for a solid 30 minutes no one picked up to even place on hold. I understand its a refundable deposit but this is an expense i was not prepared for and should not have had to just come up with it on the spot. I hope my company can get a hold of them to get this hold taken off my card. Not to mention I had to wait an additional hour to even get a car because there were only mini vans available! I did get an upgrade on my car, but this whole experience is really not okay and disappointing. read more

We had rented a car from a different Enterprise location for our little visit up north (didn't want to put the miles on our cars). My bf noticed on the way up that the car was making a noise. When we stopped in Belmont he had some time to examine the noise and felt there might be a problem with the driver's side front suspension (he's a total car guy). I saw on Yelp that this Enterprise was located not too far from our hotel so we dropped by. The person behind the counter was less than helpful. She said she couldn't help us because we picked our car from an airport so we had to return the car to an airport for a trade in. They didn't even examine the car to check if it was safe to drive. Luckily, SFO was only about 10 miles away. I didn't want to risk the location not having a same level trade (we had a full size car and it was a Friday afternoon) so I called Enterprise to have them check the inventory before we arrived. I left a message with the SFO office then called the 1-800 number. I was immediately transferred to roadside assistance that informed us that the Belmont office should have never let us drive the car away (Shame on you Belmont!!). Enterprise policy is that if there is a mechanical problem with the car, they bring you a replacement car immediately wherever you are for your own safety. The rep on the phone was helpful and took care of everything, which was in contrast to the staff at the Belmont office. read more

Had a terrible experience with the manager his name was Eric Mendoza. Not accommodating and just rigid- unfortunately I will not be coming back here. I have emailed his manager Colleen and I am curious to see what her response will be. Take your business else where! I had to leave my car at AW collision and because I left my ID (picture nor FaceTime was good enough) I had to go back and get my damaged car to drive back- just very nasty to say the least. First they gave me a very smelly car full of tobacco smoke. Second, they double charged me that is they collected full payment from my insurance company and had my credit card and collected full payment from me. They agreed they should return my charges but six weeks later have not. read more

They went out of our way to switch cars for us while our van was in the shop before a family trip. We couldn't find a van anywhere around, but they tracked one down and got it to us same day. If I could give less than 1 star I would, after waiting 45 minutes to pick-up a vehicle that I had scheduled an appointment to pick up I waited and waited, and waited then received a dirty vehicle. When the insurance company decided to upgrade me to a larger vehicle I called Enterprise Rent-A-Car at 605 Harbor Blvd. in Belmont as I was instructed to do & the individual indicated they were busy but would call me back in an hour, 2 hours later I called him and it only went further down hill. Enterprise Rent-A-Car does not care, they must have enough business that the loss of a few of us is incidental. There is an Avis/Hertz location just around the corner on El Camino, they have exceptional customer service. If you have the option use them and avoid Enterprise Rent-A-Car like the plague. read more

I can't complain. I can't say if pricing is competitive as it was covered by the other guy's insurance. A guy conveniently backed his truck into my car parked getting gas just before I was about to leave on a long road trip. After dropping my car off at the body shop, Enterprise hooked me up with an SUV. When I got back, they switched me over to a Mercedes C300 for almost a month at the same price as a standard, mid-size car. Sweet. Staff was courteous and helpful all the way through coordinating with me and the body shop. As a small location, selection limited. edit 6/7/07 Got my credit card statement and there was a charge on it from Enterprise. Hmm, that doesn't seem right, the full cost of the car should have been covered by insurance and I returned it with a full tank of gas. I called them and they informed me that insurance covered up to $23/day while the car I rented was $25/day. WTF? The guy that gave me the rental car told me that insurance would cover the total cost of the car! I guess they made an over-calculation too b/c I was also informed that they refunded me $12.99. Don't go here for a rental car, sure it's convenient when you're having your car serviced nearby but it's not worth it for the trouble, cost, spotty customer service and terrible cars. ******************************************** I've rented cars from these guys twice in the past two months due to car repairs being done at Chilton down the street. Both times I got pretty good service, (I found Christina to be way too chatty and over excited) and was quickly taken care of, no lengthy paperwork to fill out or time wasted trying to talk them out of giving me a more spendy car. They knew I only needed something to get me to work and back while my car was at the doctor's. The reason why I didn't give them more stars? Both cars I've gotten from them (a PT Cruiser and a Saturn Ion) have STUNK. No, literally, they were stinky. The cruiser had this horrible, cigarette, BO, and floral air freshener smell that literally made me gag. I actually left it in my driveway with all the windows open overnight to try and get some of the funk out. The Saturn smells like baby vomit. No other way to describe it. Also, both cars had gross stains on the floor mats and backseat upholstery. I know that these are rental cars, I'm not expecting a flashy spotless vehicle, but come on! how hard is it to vacuum, stain treat and Febreeze a car? read more

Rented a car from this place, paid through Orbitz. Returned in the same condition with a full gas tank. Seven months later (!?), they charged my credit card for $40 with no explanation. I originally thought it was fraud, cancelled the card and got a new card. They charged it again. Got a bill in mail this time with a line "repair shop". They don't respond to emails or phone calls. $40 is not worth the fight, but this is not acceptable. Stay away from this place. In fact, why use them, if you can just Uber for less money. read more
