Thw store includes new furniture and has booths that look like flea market booths. The best of both worlds! The furniture is beautiful and very reasonably priced. I had been looking at furniture at Restoration Hardware and I swear there were the same or extremely similar pieces for way less. The staff is nice and knowledgeable and many people asked if we needed help while we were there, but they did not linger unless we asked. We felt as though we could browse without a salesperson breathing down our necks. I live in Homewood and delivery from Encore to my zip code was $85, whether I bought 1 item or 10. Very much worth it in my opinion. I'm not sure if I found exactly what I was looking for on the day I visited, but I will absolutely be back and will be telling others to stop by when they're looking for furniture.

When we did go back recently the store had a bit of a remodel. It was nice, but just did not have the same feel as before. But this time the store only had a couple of shoppers. Just couldn't put my finger on it, but it just didn't seem as interesting or inviting. The staff seemed a bit standoffish as well. It's a pretty big store, and there is a lot to see. I'm sure there are many fabulous items, but it's not really a place to "stop in and check it out." I think you have to both be in the mood/frame-of-mind to really look at everything and have the time to do it. You could very easily spend all day there. "Just browsing" isn't going to cut it. That said, I had neither the time nor the inclination to spend the time to really give it a good shopping. Instead I found it overwhelming, so I just politely walked most of the aisles only looking at the things that really jumped out at me. Because it was a Saturday, there seemed to be a number of vendors there, so I'm sure there are some interesting stories to be told, and they could surely help if you're searching from something specific.

My daughter found a pair of nightstands to purchase and since her husband is in the Navy I asked if he could give her a military discount. He immediately started in about being drafted and he didn't get any discounts he just got sent to Vietnam. He carried on about this and seemed somewhat combative about it. As we were leaving he did attempt to apologize, but it was a little late at that point. A simple we don't give discounts would have been a much more professional and courteous response to my inquiry. He let me know that he was having back pain but that he didn't have to exchange or refund anything. I proceeded to ask him about his return policy and at that time he told me that I needed to leave. He asked my husband earlier if he could see the table in our home. Of course my husband refused. While escorting us out of the door, he mentioned something along the lines of ...since he could not come to our home we needed to leave his store. I have never experienced anyone as rude and unprofessional as this guy. The story gets worse because I came back to the store to take pictures of his non-existing return policy. At that time he threatened to call the police and have me arrested for being a public nuisance. I don't recommend that anyone purchase anything from this establishment!
