    Orchestra coming on stage
    Jim R.

We have been going to Philadelphia Orchestra concerts for years and have thoroughly enjoyed them. From Mozart to Dvorak, to Beethoven and Respighi, the list goes on and on. The night is made more exciting if you know at least one of the pieces they are performing. To this point, I have never thought to write a review. We just attended "The Princess Bride in Concert" at the KImmel Center, where the movie was shown above the stage directly behind the orchestra. The actual movie orchestral soundtrack has been removed and the entire score is performed by the Orchestra. The sound was absolutely amazing and so perfectly timed, you almost forget to take your eyes off the movie every so often and watch the Orchestra performing. It was fun watching Orchestra members looking up at the screen when they had nothing to play. This is our second such concert - the first being the Indiana Jones movie Raiders of the Lost Arc. This again was very exciting and entertaining. A totally fun and new way to enjoy both a fantastic orchestra and a favorite movie. Highly recommended!

What an amazing theater to be able to see a show. I visited the theater to see Hamilton and the show was phenomenal but the theater experience was even better. We had balcony seats and they were great. The theater is beautiful and the staff was really helpful. The best part of the theater was the space you had between you and the row in front of you and behind. You had plenty of space to get comfortable. The acoustics were perfect. The only negative thing I would say about the theater was the fact they would not allow you to bring the beverage or snack you purchase at their concessions. It would have been nice to enjoy a drink and snack with the show but the experience was so good that it didn't even matter. I am so looking forward to the next show already.

Kimmel center is an amazing place. Culture, drinks, music, design, food? Everything in one on Broad street. Recently went to see organ day at the Kimmel center. I didn't realize how amazing the Philadelphia orchestra was. They are super mindblowing. The architecture there is pretty amazing even if you don't like the music scene (worth checking out).

Great to see a Christmas concert at the Merriam theater. Black Violin was awesome. The seats we had were fantastic with a clear view of the stage. However, the actual seats are too close together. When the theater was built, the seats were placed close to another like a school auditorium. It isn't ideal for people of varying heights or sizes; especially if you have long legs. As movie theaters have done, I think a renovation sometime soon should be considered.

The Kimmel Center is back open for business. Stopped by for a comedy show and the check in process was easy. Before entering, be ready with your proof of vaccination and a photo id. This will be required to step into the building. Masks are required to be worn while in the building. Things to know: -bring proof of vaccination and a photo id -tickets bought online, no need to print the ticket. The barcode can be scanned from your phone -guest WiFi available -if you are looking to save some money by purchasing tickets directly from the on-site box office, plan ahead. The window hours have changed, check a day or two before you plan on going.

A fantastic location to see a world class performance. There's really not a bad seat in the house, audibly and visually. The design fits a traditional, east coast performing arts center - classy, darker colors/wood. The food and drinks are about what you'd expect, some decent wine and cocktail selections. Everyone is well-trained and helpful, always a pleasure to visit. Seeing the Philadelphia Orchestra should be a must-see event for anyone with even a passing interest in music and the arts. This venue succeeds in enhancing the experience and making it one you'll never forget.

Probably the best performance we've ever been at of Les Miserable. Words cannot describe it. My first show at the Academy of Music was in the sky deck as far up as you can go. That was 12 years or so ago. Learned my lesson. Been sitting in Box 30 since. Park 1/2 block away in the Bellevue Stratford parking lot. Valet if you want it. We prefer to park ourself as the wait is much to long to get your car. Always eat across the street at Estia on Locust St. Sit a the bar if there's room. More like a Cheers Bar. Always a fun time, great food and super drinks. Fantastic service.

Incredible orchestra venue in Verizon Hall

This is THE place to see a show. We have seen two Broadway shows and the Philadelphia Orchestra play and we cannot get enough. The facilities are awesome, the staff is really professional, the food/drinks are fairly priced, and the ambiance is electric. Truly love being able to go time and time again to be "transported" into another world. Highly, highly recommend!

Buyers, beware! There was an egregious misrepresentation of ticket options for the recent John Cleese performance. Kimmel's ticketing website clearly stated on two different pages that all VIP tickets included a post-show photograph with Mr. Cleese. Just before the event, however, it was unsympathetically explained that only Golden Circle tickets included the post-show photograph. In reality, the website explained that Golden Circle tickets only included a poster. Complaining to Patron Services, they absolutely refused to acknowledge what any reasonable person would deem false advertising. Terribly disappointing, not to mention illegal.

On Broad Street, it is called all about performing art. If you love musical, The Kimmel Center will be your favorite place to go. Beautiful theater and great musical shows! This theater is walking distance to City Hall. Many other tourist attractions nearby as well.

Was able to see Cruel Intentions at the Kimmel Center last week. Seats were comfortable and everything was handicap accessible. Great venue! I'd love to come back to see other shows as well. Note...there was no bar on the balcony so grab your seats before you come up!

GA shows are not easy to attend because chances are, you will run into a more rowdier crowd. Here is how I prepared myself the day of to ease some of my anxiety: - Go early to secure a good spot to stand at. - Drink lots of water before going. You don't want to lose your space by going to the restroom. Expect to stand for 4+ hours. - Eat a good meal, you don't want to faint. - Wear comfortable shoes. We left on a Friday night from New Jersey to Philly during rush hour in mad traffic. Got to the venue 20 minutes before the show started and I was so surprised to get a spot in the first row in front of the stage. I was like...no wayyyy!!! Acoustic here transmitted pitch perfectly. My videos do not do it justice. The sound was incredible. I think I danced every second of every moment. We really lucked out with some of the nicest people around us. While dancing at one point, a girl tapped me on the shoulder and said..."you're like the only one dancing and I think that's awesome that you're not afraid to do so". I replied, it's frickin Bob Moses, how can you not dance? Loved that I got to dance with a couple of the wild girls standing near me. Lol. Staff here are extremely friendly. One of the security guards below the stage was nice enough to ask if I wanted any water. There are a few bar areas for alcoholic drinks and small bites. Highly recommend this cool a$$ venue. It was standing room only for this show but seats were available for an extra $200 in the upper mezzanine, first come first serve. Restrooms: clean and plenty of stalls. Note: River Casino across the street offers free parking. We got to grab a bite to eat there afterwards.

I am by no means an edm/house music kind of person and that's what they played on every floor but I found myself jamming and feeling free. The amount of space there now is, is awesome as you don't feel overstimulated by the crowd. The fact that there's an outdoor area for people to smoke/just get some fresh air without having to leave the venue was something I didn't think I'd love so much. Absolutely would recommend this for everyone to take their friends out for a night out One thing to note - it was ticketed to get in and was $17 but I'm not sure if this is a thing that happens often

There's not a single bumper sticker or graffito to be seen. And drinks are still 2025 cheap... I think. But the inside is just kinda all black and neon... like "hey, we're cyberpunk now." Barbary, you were already cyberpunk when you were just regular punk existing at the edge of technological apocalypse, bro. Cyberpunk is crusty and biohacky, but I don't even know if that's what you're going for. Anyway, the place is nice. It even has what looks like a little bottle service area. I think back in the 2010s Barbary, the closest thing to bottle service would have been the dancing proletariat seizing the means of drunkenness from the owners and sharing cheap tequila amongst the people. And that's what I miss the most. Did the Barbary lose the jank and lack of maintenance money that made it an institution, or am I just old? The answer is yes.
