My date and I decided to try Enrico's Ristorante Pizzeria because we were craving Italian and wanted to support a local spot. The restaurant had plenty of seating and a comfortable, casual atmosphere. We started with mozzarella sticks to share, figuring it was a safe appetizer. Unfortunately, the portion surprised us a bit -- there were only five sticks for $7.50. Many places usually serve six to eight for about the same price, so it felt a little light. Next came the salads. She ordered the house salad with French dressing and I had the Caesar salad. The portions were normal for a side salad -- not overly generous, but honestly the perfect size to accompany a meal. I enjoyed my Caesar. For our main courses, she ordered the lasagna. The portion looked generous, but according to her it tasted average -- good, but not particularly memorable. I ordered the white clam pasta because I was really in the mood for clams or mussels. The flavor was actually very good, but the portion was smaller than I expected. I've had larger portions of similar dishes at comparable prices. One thing that was a bit disappointing was the Italian bread that came with the meal -- it was warm, but only two small pieces were served. That said, I noticed throughout our visit that many customers were coming in for pizza, and since it is primarily a pizzeria, that may be where they really shine. Overall, I wouldn't cross Enrico's off our list. Next time we'll likely try the pizza or explore other menu items to see what else they offer. read more

What can you improve? Lots. Let's start with your employees and their attitudes first. It has taken me one week to make this review and I'm still pissed writing. For one, we called ahead and asked can we place an order-- he said yes and ordered a cheese pizza. The guy on the phone was extremely rude the entire time and also hung up in my face. No name request, no number, just slammed the phone and hung up. We live close by so we arrived 5 minutes after this order was placed. There were two people in the oven area, one who was evidently the manager and the other was the guy who took our order. After asking to talk to the manger regarding the customer service on the phone and then now, in person, he in fact was the manager. I explained what happened on the phone and instead of being apologetic he gaslit me and told me that he didn't hang up on me. It was on speaker and my husband was sitting right next to me. After my husband got upset for him gaslighting me, the manger tried to cover for his employee and said it was because they were closing soon. As I looked around the restaurant at multiple families taking their time dining in, I was further confused. My husband essentially had to get loud for him to be apologetic and ended up "giving our pizza for free" also with an attitude. The guy in the back was snatching out pizza and slicing it like the pizza did something to him! He tossed it to us for us to leave bc we were upset for NOT being treated with kindness or respect. The pizza was good-- we ate it but sadly we will not be back! Part of spending your hard earned money is giving back to small businesses who need it in this economy. Once again, great service and Food. Place was almost empty when-we got there but filed up fast. We ordered Bruschetta - fresh and good! I had Chicken Piccata - it was just delicious, served with a fresh Salad and Pasta with lots of sautéed mushrooms and Capers. The sauce on the Piccata was lemony and wonderful. Decided to give this restaurant a 2nd chance and what a mistake that was. I ordered the lasagna with a buffalo chicken soup. The lasagna was cold and the soup was so oily you couldn't taste anything else. So I sent my food back. My husband ordered a ham & pepperoni calzone. Normally they are friendly and welcoming, however tonight they had one server at 4:45 and he was having a hard time keeping up with 7 tables by himself. These were not tables of two but families and groupds. It was also the day after Christmas so being prepared for people to come would have been a good idea. Two additional servers and a bar tender finally showed up at 5. Lots of take out orders were being picked up while we waited. Had a 'nice' late lunch today. This tends to be our go to by the outlet malls. Wife had a penne pasta, it was 'fine'. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming -- perfect for families -- and the staff always make us feel right at home. The food is incredible every single time. Enricos is a solid Italian-American spot. It is definitely not gourmet, but the food is decent and the service is friendly. I also like that they are very friendly with families. A friend of mine went with me, her, her partner and both of our toddlers, and they were very friendly and attentive to us. I had a salad which I enjoyed, and they had pasta dishes. I'm looking for pasta and not a chian while on the road. Adventure off to Enricos for Italian restaurant that I have never heard of before. Decided on the lasagna with a caeser salad and an old fashion. It's not your typical pairing, but what the heck? Why not. The salad was fresh and crisp, and the ceaser dressing was sooooo good. The Old Fashioned was a good mix with just a taste of the bourbon. Yum! The lasagna was tasty, with a pretty good sauce, and the meat was flavorful. Good carb meal before tomorrow's game. The service was super friendly and quick for a busy Saturday evening. The table was clean and dining area neat and modern. It's very much a family restaurant or even a nice place for a date. We live about 2 miles away yet rarely eat here due to all the available Italian restaurants in town. This is ok if you'd like an Italian-ish restaurant. Our waitress was outstanding. If I could rate the restaurant on her alone, this place would get a 5 star. She was blonde, about our age, professional, yet playfully chatted with us while checking on us frequently. The interior is just ok. Bare floors and tables, but comfortable and casual. The patio looks inviting with the right weather as it had white lights strung about overhead. Hubby ordered a white wine while I ordered the sangria. The waitress offered to cut the sweetness with a red since I mentioned I didn't want it too sweet and it was perfect. The bread was good and they served real butter with it. I got the Italian Wedding Soup. It was completely constructed non-traditional, but was actually excellent. They had cut the meatballs into fourths it looked like, and instead of using the correct pasta (Anini di pepe), they just broke up pieces of spaghetti pasta and threw it in there. A true Italian would gasp, but I'm Scotch-Irish background so it rolled off of me after I noticed. The flavor was really good anyway. My husband ordered a salad to start and he said it was fine but wished it had croutons. I got the chicken marsala. It was just ok. It lacked a depth of flavor. I suspect not much marsala was used. It tasted very fast-food like. My husband got the Italian trio. The chicken parmesan was good, but did not come with any plain pasta underneath. The menu did state this so it wasn't a surprise but he didn't enjoy it as much as he could have. The fettuccine alfredo was really excessively creamy. I think it would have been good with bits of shrimp in the sauce.... since we've Americanized the Italian here anyway. Lol. The lasagna was just ok. I swear I tasted ranch dressing in there. A shortcut from using much ricotta maybe ? But I prefer solely mozzarella in my lasagna anyway, so I never order it out. Mine made at home is always better so I never order it at a restaurant. How you can screw up chicken parm, or turn eggplant into poly-urethane is beyond me. The food is tasteless and served cold. I'll preface this feedback based on having traveled the entire country, lived in the North where food is really good and have been to Italy twice. Forgive any tone. Respectfully, this is not Italian food. Wife and I went there from a recommendation from a friend who I later I chastised. lol. THE GOOD: we were seated quickly. Indoor was busy and filled with people which made me think it would have been better than it was. Hot food came out hot and nothing seemed old. The salad was fresh, although petite. Their sauce is actually quite good and seemed to be authentic New Jersey Italian (bits of carrots and fresh ingredients). Our server was good, attentive. Location is convenient as is parking ample. The outdoor seating is decent. THE BAD: We sat outside and the music was a mix of Papa Roach, Nickleback, 3Days Grace and similar- not exactly reminiscent of old Italy. So the ambience was nonexistent. As with most Italian restaurants, you're offered bread or they just bring it out. This didn't happen. Wine is typically overpriced by 100% or more which is common but my pour was disappointing and warmer than room temperature. The lasagna, a decent sized portion, was mediocre in taste but overpowered by salty cheese (mozz has hardly any salt in it when cured or homogenized). My tiny 125lb wife ordered "eggplant parm". Note: I typically order eggplant parm to judge the authenticity of an Italian restaurant but she unfortunately insisted and did me a favor. The plate came out with 70% spaghetti and two slices (yes, I said effing slices) of eggplant that seemed to be egg wash and fried? Not sure. It looked weird and she was so disappointed that she wouldn't let me take pictures for this post. There wasn't enough food on her plate to satisfy her appetite and sending bad food back is a waste of time. I didn't think the meatballs were bad but seemed machine made because of being identical in size and a blended consistency (not traditional 3 meats). The sauce made up for that in my opinion. 3 stars for what they did well. If you have a budget and a family with a bunch of little kids, then this is a great spot. Definitely better than Olive Garden (if you've ever had to endure that place), but doesn't reach the quality of Little Mama's in South Park or even Maggianos (the chain restaurant) but is a cute little place with decent food. It is not meant to excite people about Italian gourmet cuisine, because that won't happen. It is lower cost. Not everyone intends on spending $250+ for dinner for two people every time they go out. $60 for two people is a red flag for me. I rarely give a restaurant 5 Stars on a first visit but this one deserves it. Did some online searching for a Restaurant we had not been to before and came across Enricos. There webpage is very well done and reviewing the menu, it looked like a place my wife and I would like to dry. It's next door from Charlotte Prime Outlet in the same building as the Harris Teeter. Great addition to the Steele Creek Neighborhood. Got there a little before noon. Not crowded yet and had a choice of dining indoors of on the Patio. Patio was beautiful and it was perfect weather for dinning outside but we chose the main dinning well as usual. We were promptly seated and our server presented us with menu's and took our beverage orders. I ordered Untweeted Tea while my wife order a Black Russian and Water While we studying the rather extensive menu, our drinks were served. Our server pointed out that they had put a splash of cream on top of her Black Russian which she did not like because of the extra calories. I hate to tell here that most of the Calories are coming from the Vodka. The server offered to have it remade but my wife said she would take it anyway but in a minute, the bartender came out with a fresh made one. Good customer service. My wife ordered the Veal Saltimbocca while I ordered White Clam Pasta but also included Mozzarella Sticks with Marinara and Italian Wedding Soup. My wife changed here mind and also switched from a Salad to Wedding Soup as well. First out was the Wedding Soup and it was incredible. My wife is from Pittsburgh were Wedding Soup is very common and totally different than what passes for Wedding Soup in the Charlotte Area. It was a great start to a great meal. Next came the Mozzarella Sticks. Very good with a dusting of cheese on top with Marinara on the side. Very good but the Marinara was a little on the bland side. Low part of the meal but not enough to kick down the overall rating. Next came the main course. The Veal Saltimbocca was incredible in size and my wife loved it. Guess what she is having for dinner tonight. The White Clam Pasta was delicious. 12 little neck clams in a pasta sauce with Olive Oil, Oregano, Garlic in a wine reduction. Having had this in years. Last time I think I had it was at Rizzo's Malabar in Crabtree PA, one of the best in Western PA. The bread was a little late coming to the table but it was still in the oven. After all, we did get there shortly after they opened but when it came, it was worth the wait. Nice and hot and hot to the point, that it was still hot to the touch. This has the potential of being a great restaurant if they continue. Small problems did occur and that is to be expected. They do happen. What makes a great restaurant is the way the restaurant and staff respond to those small problems. Enricos did a great job and was super customer oriented. Unfortunately, I didn't find the food the least bit enjoyable. This is a place that I've been looking to try because I pass by it often. The other night we decided to finally give it a try. There was no seasoning at all. It tasted like just heavy cream and noodles. I've never had a pasta so tasteless and didn't know it was possible. Fortunately, we got it to go so we were able to spruce it up at home. Still not the best but it at least made it edible for the time being. We didn't finish it, the salad, or the bread. Went here for a belated birthday dinner because I wanted Italian, but nothing too fancy. We got there pretty early and had about a 10 minute wait for a table. The space is a little small. It was a mix of a casual pizza joint, sports bar and dining. It was a Sunday so football was on all the tvs. We were seated in the back and and saw two tables who were seated after us get drink orders in and served before us. We had to ask someone who our waiter was. He finally showed up and we ordered right away since we had plenty of time to look at the menu. I ordered cheesy garlic bread for an appetizer. And the penne arrabiata with meatballs as my main course. It came with bread and a salad. I got a Caesar salad. Another server who helped us originally find ours brought us fresh bread. Then everything came out in a strange order. My salad first before the appetizer. Then my husband's stromboli. Then the cheesy garlic bread at the same time as my pasta. And when my salad came out, I had no silverware and had to ask another server again since I didn't see ours. So for service, it was slacking. I think we really just had a bad server. We saw better ones at the tables beside us. For the food, portions are a good size. Some things were better than others. The cheesy garlic bread was not impressive. I couldn't taste any garlic and it was clearly a slice of cheese just melted on the bread. I was really craving something garlicky to dip into my sauce this was not it. But the marinara with it was really good and robust. The salad was pretty standard. No complaints. My pasta was really good. There were olives and prosciutto giving it an extra kick of flavor to the red sauce, but it wasn't too spicy. And the meatballs were okay. I'd still like to try more pasta dishes. Our server didn't ask about dessert and just if we were done. I then asked for some tiramisu. The tiramisu was good and filled the birthday craving I had.
