I went here to have a few inches taken off the bottom of a bridesmaid dress for my brother's wedding. When I got there, I realized there was a small snag in the chiffon. I showed it to the owner Enrica, and she said she had a tool she could fix it. No problem. This was in January. She said I could pick up my dress Feb. 24. I called on Feb. 24 and the place was not open. No message on the business line whatsoever, and no way to leave a message.
When I was finally able to reach her, I went into the store to get my dress. It was March 10. The wedding is now a month away. When I saw my dress, I was horrified to see that she had made the snag 10 times worse than what it started as. She said to give her another week. I went back again on March 17. She had put a PATCH on it that made that area a completely different color AND there was a small stain on it. She had also taken some of the hanging fabric and sewed it to the seem ACROSS the dress in an effort to cover up the snag. It was literally pulled so taut that I couldn't zip up the dress.
I realized at this point that she could not fix the snag. I asked her to remove the patch, which revealed a large HOLE in my dress.
Needless to say, she did not charge me for the hem. She said that if I got the dress replaced, I could bring her the new dress to hem and I could pay her then (at this point, she thinks the dressmaker is going to replace my dress..are you kidding? She damaged it!). I ended up ordering a new dress. She literally cost me $120.
She is a SUPER nice lady, and I'm sure she's still capable of doing easy hems and such, but she ruined my dress and did not offer any type of compensation other than not charging me for the hem on a dress she literally destroyed. I will never go back and would not recommend this place to anyone. read more
