My husband and I stumbled upon this place while we were walking around the Rialto area. It's just a 3 minute walk from the bridge and I highly recommend stopping there for wine/beer/snacks.
In Italy, I was looking forward to tasting local wines; however realized that even restaurants with high ratings and an extensive wine list did not store their wine properly so red wine was served warm. That is not the case at Enobar Ostinati, and I was pleasantly surprised that the wine was a perfect temperature and also delicious!
Enrico, the owner, has his own boutique winery called Midora about an hour boat ride from Venice, and at the store, he serves his Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and Merlot as the house wines at just 3.50 euro a glass!
He is very nice, down to earth, and passionate about wine. We were lucky to have met him!
He said he wants to eventually start group wine tours from Venice, so I hope he can fulfill his dream. read more
