Contrary to the other reviews of the service here, I received a warm welcome walking into the store and was immediately attended to by both working gentlemen. I had a few items already in mind so it didn't take long for them to locate them for me. When asked about some very specific New York style Gin, they immediately told me that that was something they didn't carry but would be willing to source if I were to call ahead before visiting again. I really appreciated that offer and may take them up on that next time since Providence is still a much closer drive than upstate New York. I guess what really fascinated me about this place more than the wines stocked on the shelves was the fact that this used to be a purveyor/architect's office/storage where they stored their blueprints. As such, the shelves where all these simple fine wines rest on were once holding blueprints for buildings nearby. It made the whole store look extremely unique and similar to a library that had books up to the ceiling. I'll definitely be back to visit when in the area again. This is one of the many wine and beer shops in downtown. Located on Westminster Street is the most prominent one as many visitors and locals pass by it all the time. They have wine tastings on Fridays from 4:30-6:30p. I stopped in here today to get some non-alcoholic beer and they had a few choices, including the well acclaimed Athletic brand. The restaurant next door (Amaryllis) lets you buy wine in here to dine-in with. I love this little shop on Westminster! They have a great selection of wine if that's your thing but I'm more into beer. It's not the cheapest beer you will find around town but for small runs and convenience it works. It's definitely more of a place to get some specialty items and explore. read more

Really disappointed in this place. Used to be my wife and my favorite place to shop for natural wine and hard-to-find liqueurs. The service has always been spectacular- these people care about their vino! Recently it's all felt lackluster and disappointing. Visited today and the shelves were half empty. This is an incredible store! The endless shelves of wine seem like something out of a magical book, and I did not recognize a single label, which is impressive! I think this store would be the perfect spot to find a special bottle of wine for your wine loving friend or for your next dinner party where you want to impress! I replied, you could be nice about it, and she continued to mock me and say, aw sweetie can you please put on a mask. I have heard about their rude attitude before. I admittedly know nothing about wine, this place does. Their bedside manner in correcting my every question was nothing short of curt, rather than patient or helpful. I go here every week, would hope as a consistent customer to have been treated better. If you're going to be a wine expert, be patient and make others curious - there's a lot to learn. Don't treat someone as ignorant and be curt because they don't know as much as you, when you're supposed to be the expert. I wouldn't rattle you for not knowing the ins and outs of my business. I was very impressed with the selection of wine. The store isn't huge, so obviously cannot stock a vast selection, but I still was able to find pretty much something in every grape and regional variety I wanted except for Canadian wine. (Not sure if that's a legal issue with Canada, but not a negative for this store's rating) The staff with friendly, welcoming and certainly knowledgeable. We spent quite some time discussing our likes and wants, were offered plenty of samples to try before buying and felt no pressure to purchase. Although there is a small side aisle with craft beers, some in fridges, I was a little disappointed with the selection of beer available. I suspect this is not the store to come to for beer. However, if you're after a good range of wine and spirits, this is definitely a great place to go to in downtown Providence. read more

Nothing makes me feel more at home than copious amounts of alcohol. Perhaps that's why, when I'm out of town, I feel the need to stop by a local liquor store and scope it out. Eno Fine Wine makes me feel more at home than most; not only because of the impeccable and friendly service, but also because they've got nothing but Brooklyn (the eponymous brewery and Sixpoint both represented) in the window signage, and the excellent Jack From Brooklyn Sorel on the shelves. Throw in a very surprisingly extensive and quality selection of whiskey and every other spirit, and I don't know why you'd shop anywhere else in PVD. read more

I don't write reviews often, and have never written a bad review, but jeez. I came in to look at the selection and asked if they had a specific type of whiskey which yes, I know is allocated, so they probably don't have it...but instead of just saying no, this person (lady w/ short brunette hair) said "we don't have that or these other things from the same distiller. We only have good whiskey." I said "that's unfortunate" meaning their automatic assumption and putting down my taste was unfortunate cause I would have given them quite a bit of my money if they hadn't been so immediately judgmental. Then they asked me if I was buying it as a gift or if I needed something cheaper (because a young blonde girl can't possible know good whiskey?) I smiled and said no I'm just looking. Then I complimented their selection of rum because it is impressive (even though when I asked about another type of rum they said "yeah it's right there" but apparently they didn't know tiki lovers also has a bottle called...tiki lovers white (they don't have it, they just have pineapple)). Unfortunately I won't be buying any from them because I'm not supporting this type of human interaction. They said they don't carry that whiskey because it's allocated and Rhode Island is so small it gets overlooked and their distributor just doesn't give it to them. Their distributor doesn't give it to them because they have poor interpersonal skills, because I know two stores within a 5 mile radius that do get it because they are nice people and therefore probably have good relationships with their distributors. In short, I kept saying it's unfortunate they don't have it but what I was really saying was it's unfortunate you just immediately put down my taste in liquor because you can't get it in stock and you're bitter about it. I would love to buy a few different bottles here but again, I'm not supporting this behavior, which is corroborated and reexperienced by the other 1 star ratings here. Jeez. Just be nice. read more

1. The booze here is shockingly overpriced, and the store has a bizarre, pretentious atmosphere (especially considering their selection is the same as that of your average corner liquor store). 2. The pale brunette woman at the cash register was unpleasant and had a uniquely off-putting way about her, almost like an android being fed lines from a computer-generated script. I've never stepped into this place prior to COVID. But I wanted some wine, and thought I would check out the website first. They have a very user-friendly website with a great selection. I'm no wine expert, but their descriptions were helpful, and they have a wide range of prices, so many affordable options. I got a red Argentinian Malbec. Outside their store they have posted some interesting recommendations and looks like they have a good list of biodynamic wines, which I am interested in! I'll definitely be browsing for more options in the future. They have clear directions and you call when you arrive to pick up (no store entry). Stopped in here while traveling, hoping it wasn't too overpriced for a tourist location. Was surprised at the excellent selection and reasonable prices- especially on CA wines. They're the same or less than I'd find them in CA. The salesperson was knowledgable and made excellent recommendations. The staff wasn't overly welcoming, but their knowledge and ability to make solid recommendations outweighed the dry personality. Eno has the best wine options at seriously reasonable pricing compared to other wine similar shops in town. They look really fancy but I actually am surprised to see that the same bottles I was buying across town are consistently cheaper here by a dollar or two! I really like that I can trust the managers and staff for good recommendations. They mark their organic wines (which is mostly what I'm interested in these days) clearly so it's easy to navigate. They also carry a ton of really great Sake and yuzu, which wasn't initially a category I felt really comfortable approaching but they've made it really easy to. In short this is a great spot for people looking for high quality wine, sake, etc at pretty much any budget. It's not really good for people looking for cheap shots or malt liquor (frankly I'm confused when people come in looking for that kinda thing here anyways!). read more

Floor to ceiling wine and beer. Clean and organized. Clearly priced on every bottle. They happened to be having a free wine tasting, which was advertised on a board outside of the store, so of course we had to stop :) We were greeted and invited to have a sample within 30 seconds of walking through the door. This is my kind of place. We were provided healthy samples of a Red and a White from Australia. They were served at the right temperature as well. It was an easy decision to buy a bottle after the tasting. My friend was inquiring about the Wine Club, which by the way seems like a fantastic deal. I can't remember the exact details, so you will just have to go to Eno to find out. The gentleman at the register was encouraging, but not sales-pressuring him to join on the spot. Because of this, my friend will definitely be returning to join to, as he said, "Give himself the gift of wine" There is a chalk board on the wall to the right, behind the register. It mentions different events they are having and/or participating. I missed the craft beer event which bummed me out, until I realized, that the must have beer in here too! I spun around to find a nook near the coolers in the back of the store that had chilled beers from around the world and craft beers from around the states; both at room temperature and in the chillers. To my delight they had Allagash! 5-stars just for that alone ;) The entire experience from drinking, to browsing to chatting with the staff and some of the customers, made it a 5-star experience. read more

Not much else to say about Enos besides that it's a wine haven. If you have any interest in wine I would come here. You can always find what you need by their selection but you can also learn from the people there who are very smart with wines. They have a good selection of beers, ciders, vodka, gin, whiskey etc...but their main focus is enology. I went to college for food and beverage, so I can totally get lost in this place. Located on Westminster street this location couldn't fit more perfect where it is. At night when the street is lit up and the weather is gorgeous it's hard not to pop on in and buy a nice bottle of wine to take home with you to enjoy later. I got a Chilean Pinot Noir that the gentlemen suggested for me after I told him what region I prefer. Totally am a happy man. Me and my partner enjoyed it later that night. Good place to grab wine if you're already in downtown but not worth it if you're looking for a quick stop and have to park your car, etc. Staff are usually helpful. It is confusing when you walk in because there is no label anywhere especially if you're looking for a particular type of wine and seems like everything is mixed up. There are a growing number of wine shops here in Providence. It's great because people should really learn to enjoy this delicious beverage! You'll get the hang of it! Eno Fine Wines is a place that I had newly discovered downtown. Strategically located next to Vinya/Rosmarin, Eno definitely has benefited from the BYOB culture that has developed in this area on Westminster. They actually have quite the collection of fine wines here including a nice collection of champagnes. If you are looking for something special but don't know where to start, I have found the staff here delightful and knowledgeable. The more details you are able to provide about what you enjoy about wines, the better they are able to pair your interests. The reality is, though, to truly experience wine, you should step out of your comfort zone and try something new! It's hard for most people to find a place to park downtown to actually buy a ton of wine to bring home. Lovely little shop full of wine, beer and some nice liquor. This seems like a place where you can trust that everything is carefully chosen and high quality. If you know only a little bit about wine and want to be confident you will find something good no matter what you pick up this would be a good spot to check out. I have been happy with everything we have gotten here (mostly wine). We found some ginger mead a couple nights ago in the fridge, which was unexpected and nice for the couple of sips I had (it was a little too floral for me but others loved it). The prices are reasonable and seem comparable to Bottles and other local shops. The staff is pleasant and they seem happy to answer questions. I won't come downtown just to shop here but I enjoy stopping by when in the area. If you are staying in a hotel nearby and want a small or full bottle of wine or some other alcohol this would be a good place to stop by. read more

Eno is the only liquor store in downtown, so you sort of expect the small space, the higher prices (about a $2 premium on any given craft six-pack or mid-range wine bottle, I'd say) and the hipster pretentiousness (prices written in white pastel, then rubbed off at the register). Everyone who works here has some sort of knit hat perched back on their forehead. They also hide beer in the back in what is basically a walk-in closet. They have some exotic euro beers but strangely few New England or even american microbrews, and even then the selection is inconsistent. Because we're right across the street, I usually just put up with this and go, but recently when i was looking closely at a six-pack from Lord Hobo, Hipster clerk comes scuttling out from behind the cash register, yelling "sir! sir! don't open the six packs!" For the record, I wasn't, and even if I had, the flaps are unglued. I think this was the same obnoxious black-bearded dude referenced in previous reviews. There are no longer any BYOBs on the street so there isn't much reason to go here unless you happen to be staying at one of the hotels downtown and your walking-distance options are limited. If you are a craft beer fan, then you might as well just go over to Trinity and get a growler, it will cost about the same as the six-packs here but will be much fresher and more authentically Providence, and their hipsters are much easier to deal with. read more

I've been into Eno several times before and purchased wine. They have a wide array of wines at various price points. On this particular evening, a group of girlfriends were next door dining at Flan y Ajo, a tapas bar which is BOYB. My sis-in-law stopped into Eno and purchased two bottles of wine totaling around $35 which we enjoying while dining on our tapas. My issue isn't with the wine but the service at Eno. For the last 3 years, every time we have needed to use the restroom in the common area of the building that is shared with Flan y Ajo, we have accessed it via the backdoor of Eno. On this particular evening the owner of Eno actually yelled at me and my friend when we attempted to access the common restroom. He scolded us in such a rude and condescending manner that I was left shaking. After I gathered myself together, I went back into Eno and confronted the owner. I am a 30-something professional that works in public relations. I am not going to be talked to in that way and I voiced my disappointment at the manner in which he handled the situation. The owner continued with his scolding and I informed him I would not be back into the shop again and would advise my friends to do the same. I have to wonder if the owner's real issue was not with me but with the fact that Flan y Ajo, a BOYB place that sends many customers each night to Eno, will be relocating and will have their own liquor license in their new location. Needless to say I will not be back to Eno and hope the owner works on his people skills. read more

This is quite possibly the most charming wine and spirits shop I've ever been to. I can't even call it a liquor store because it's so precious and stylish, it's miles from what I picture when I hear 'liquor store.' First of all, it's located in the heart of DownCity on the delightful Westminster St in one of the old store fronts with large windows and beautiful metalwork and woodwork. The store is gorgeous - it reminds me of my grandfather's stately study with large, dark mahogany bookcases and deep green walls. It provides a classy backdrop for the large selection of wines and bottles of liquor - possibly making them look much fancier than they actually are! I went in knowing exactly what I wanted: a bottle of Vinho Verde. Perfect for these hot, humid summer months in Providence, I was giving it as a gift and wanted to get something more elegant than the $6 bottle I myself drink. I was welcomed and given a few moments to poke around and take everything in; the decor, the selection, the very cool chalkboard hanging on the wall with a cocktail recipe of the day. There's a large, heavy wood table in the center of the store where I guess they hold their weekly tastings, but that day it held a poster for a local art festival. Once I was approached, I explained what I was looking for and within seconds, three great options were presented to me. I selected one, and the woman rubbed off the price that was written on the bottle (a nice touch - no sticky sticker residue to scrape off!) and wrapped it for me without even being asked. Very nice! We chit-chatted a bit about various summer cocktails and wines while I paid for my purchase, and I was out and about in no time. Overall, this was a very pleasant experience, and I look forward to my next experience at Eno! read more

I totally dig Eno! A chic, minimalist shop with floor-to-ceiling shelves of beer, wine, and spirits. By making such great use of their space, they are able to offer up lots of different wines from a variety of countries and regions. The staff have regular tastings, so if a bottle is stocked, chances are someone has tasted it. Their beer selection is a bit limited, but there is always something fun and different in the cooler, and their prices aren't too bad despite being right downtown. in fact, they regularly have bargain wines. I love that they mark the bottles with grease pencils, so if you are BYO'ing or giving a boozey gift you don't have to spend 15 minutes digging a gummy sticker off. They even rub the prices off for you as you are checking out. Don't forget, Eno validates parking in the lot across the street. And they guarantee your parking, so if you have an issue, let them know. read more

I love going to different beer and wine stores to find new alcohol to try. After a long week my first initial reaction at 5 o' clock on Friday is, "Can I have an alcohol please? Literally anything...well besides wine. I can't warm up to wine." So it mostly comes down to beer. I love beer and over the last couple years I have been introduced to the world of craft beer by my girlfriend. I used to only know the ways of Busch Light and Bud Light, and had no idea what else existed outside of those. Boy was I dumb! I love a liquor store that provides a wide variety of beers to try and while ENO has a good selection I have seen better. This place is definitely more of a wine stop than a beer stop. Also if you're just a college student looking for the nearest 30 rack, this is not the place for you. The employee was very helpful when my girlfriend asked about a specific type of champagne she was looking for, but in the end they did not have this brand. However, she did offer other champagnes with similar taste. I only give this place three stars because I was curious to see what it had to offer, and I wasn't really that impressed. Not knocking the place at all it just isn't for me. They offered more foreign that domestic options and it sort of overwhelmed me cause I drink mostly domestic beers, so I didn't really know where to begin. However like I said this seems like more of a wine/ hard liquor sort of store, so if that is your fancy then this place may be the spot for you. read more

This young man started yelling across the room as if I should have approached him before starting to shop. He made his way over to me and was rather condescending. I realize that I may not have been the sort of young urban professional that this douche thought I should be a customer in his store. But I was CUSTOMER. Easily my favorite wine shop in Providence. The selection here is very well curated; you'll get a good pick no matter what you pick up in the store (at least from my experience). Their selection of wines include a diverse grouping of wines from the usual locales (US, France, Germany, and Italy) . They even have a handful of bottles from some less common regions that you don't often see in a lot of the stores around PVD. The beer selection is a little more limited to somewhere like Bottles or Yankee Spirits, but perhaps that's just because it's a smaller space. Seems fitting that they focus on wine, given their name though. The staff is super helpful. They're always quick to give a solid recommendation based on the kinds of things you like (or don't like). I've never been steered wrong. Prices tend to be a little more on average than a typical store. Considering it's a smaller place and that they don't have a lot of the less expensive large format wines around that makes sense. They also do events and tastings fairly often, always a plus. I'd highly recommend stopping by to pick up a bottle of wine or eight. They've got a lot of very interesting wines for all sorts of budgets. read more

Wine - Vin - Vino - Wein - Bor - Weijn - Vi - Vynas ...whatever language you speak, Eno is well-versed in wine. A large selection of "unique wines" and "boutique beers" (and even Absolut and Malibu). When I asked about a Charles Smith Riesling by the name of "Kung Fu Girl," the two men behind the counter knew exactly what I was talking about. Unfortunately, they were out of that bottle (a distribution problem, they said), but the gentleman recommended other sweet Riesling that I might enjoy (Bloom was my choice - and excellent substitution and only 9.98$). Eno also hosts tastings on Fridays and Saturdays (details are posted on the shop's black board, as well as on their website). Definitely my go-to place pour vin in Providence! read more
