I opted for PPF to provide front end paint protection, coupled with a Ceramic Coating on the entire exterior of my Tesla to help maintain its luster. Aside from providing phenomenal shine (in fact SHINIER than when I dropped off my 3-day old brand new car), the peace of mind knowing that my Ultra Red paint would be far less impacted by environmental factors was the decision point for me. I learned that PPF and the ceramic coating combined reduce the risk of rock chips and road debris penetrating or spoiling the paint. Plus, the ceramic window tint protects the interior from the deleterious effects of summer sun. The ceramic tint I selected results in almost 90% heat rejection, which is a huge bonus since Tesla's have soooo much in-cabin sun exposure. Afterwards, I contacted Hot Tint in May 2022. They responded to me that day and told me to stop by the shop. I made an appointment for later that week. When I arrived, I asked them to install the unit and a backup camera. I can't recall how much time it took but it was done in a reasonable amount of time and I'm happy with their service. I called a few other shops around this time. A couple had other projects and couldn't get to me for a few months. A couple of others didn't want to touch the van because of its age, manufactured in 1989. Hot Tint was straight-forward. They said let them see what I have and they'll let me know if they could use what I had or needed something else. I appreciate that approach. I did have a couple of problems but they were responsive. While driving home, my radio rebooted twice. The cable came loose so they told me to return to the shop so that they could fix it. The second is my clock resets to 12:00 every time the vehicle is restarted. They told me to bring it by so that they can fix it but I haven't. I'm rarely on the screen to see the time and just had other priorities. I mention these items to show that they were responsive and willing to troubleshoot the problem. I rate them high also because there are many mechanics and technicians who can work on a classic vehicle but refuse to do so. There are a handful like Hot Tint that jumps right in and do the job. I picked one of the darker films because we prefer to filter all that sun light and also want a break from the heat. Chris was able to answer all my questions and didn't try to sell me on anything, he just explained what they do and let me decide on my own. Next we went around measuring all those windows. Price was a concern as we have just purchased this house and don't have alot of surplus money laying around so I eventually settled on just starting with the upper level to try and equalize the heat situation. Chris called the office and scheduled our install for the upcoming Monday. The order sheet is easy to read and understand, no hidden fees! The prices are also very reasonable for the product. Before install I was a bit worried, but it's worth every penny! On Monday the two man crew showed up right on time, were quick, friendly and professional. They took extra time to clean all the windows and were careful with all the beds/desk they had to move to access them. Once finished I was just amazed! The glare is gone, the windows look perfect, both inside and out. It is a bit darker, but that was the effect we were going for when we picked the darker film. And the temperature difference in the house is so much better. It's no longer a 20 degrees difference from the bottom to the top level! The vehicle was turning left from Polk Drive onto Old Centreville Road while traffic was stopped and there was not enough room for the vehicle to safely complete the turn. As a result, the driver proceeded into the intersection and blocked the intersection of Old Centreville Road and Polk Drive/Maplewood Drive. At the time, a school bus traveling on Old Centreville Road was carrying students. She had to brake abruptly to avoid a collision with the vehicle and then wait for traffic to clear before she could safely proceed. Having a vehicle turn directly in front of a school bus under these circumstances created a dangerous situation for both the students on board and the driver and other cars behind her. I understand that traffic situations can be challenging, but this appeared to be an avoidable decision. I am especially concerned because the vehicle was clearly marked as a company vehicle, and I would expect professional and responsible driving from anyone operating a vehicle on behalf of a company. I am bringing this to your attention because I believe the incident warrants review and, hopefully, a reminder to your drivers about exercising appropriate caution around school buses and when entering intersections where there is insufficient room to safely proceed. This in NO WAY reflects on the companies success and business practices as a whole, their work ethic precedes them and is a testament to their overall customer satisfaction, but the behavior of one irresponsible employee does not help this.
