Prior to Mother's Day I ordered the jumbo hanging basket for the mother of my hard-working boyfriend. I was trying to do it online but being unfamiliar with all of the small towns in the area, I went ahead and called and made the order, confirming that they deliver to her town. All of that went well, and I was super excited about the hanging basket as the person I spoke to when ordering said how robust it is and how it barely fits through a doorway. Fast forward a few days, the delivery was made and the boyfriend's mother sent a picture of a floor pot with several plants in it. She raved about how gorgeous it was, but the problem is it just wasn't what we ordered. I tried to find that exact assortment of potted plants on the website but was unsuccessful. The next day I called the shop and asked about the situation. The person I spoke to had a voice that was similar if not the same as the person I spoke to when I placed the order about a week prior, and I asked about the mixup. She did apologize and said how it must've been a mixup. I then asked how much the potted plant was that was delivered, and she said the same price. Of course it was... I feel somewhat skeptical about that point, however. So I expressed very gently my disappointment and the tone of the call suddenly changed and she asked what I wanted them to do about it, went on about how it was the same priced item, how the product was delivered on time and so ultimately I dropped it. I'm sure I will facilitate the delivery of flowers to the boyfriend's mother again in the future, but it definitely won't be through this vendor, so a discount on future order wouldn't help. I get it, it's Covid still, and I know there's a piece about substitutions may be necessary, but a little communication and heads up would be nice. And if it truly was a mixup, customer service should've been better on remedying the situation. I asked a few of my girlfriends about comparing prices and they agreed that we seem to be taken advantage of from what we paid for to what we received. The delivery came in great time in morning and they even left it sitting inside our patio and not just on the porch. The flower arrangement is just stunning!! After calling another shop that wouldn't do same day delivery Engwall's saved the day. They also stored all my info from a previous delivery which made the whole transaction super smooth. And they now can deliver chocolate!!! read more

We ordered on line through a site "Kim's Florist". What we didn't know was that this was like ordering through FTD or some other call center. Engwall did not have the ribbon, the vase, or the flowers to do the bouquet that I had ordered, so they delivered something that looked much different (and much smaller) than what I ordered. read more

Rod Saline's crew did an outstanding job on the Mother's Day arrangement I had sent to my mom Patty Ahrens. I generally catch heck for sending flowers because she says they aren't worth the money but she said these were so gorgeous they were worth every penny. Delivered Sympathy Arrangement 25 Min Before Service! They were instructed to deliver the day before as viewing & service were 10 & 11 a.m. THEN... I was sent a photo from my sister-in-law of the arrangement and it was NOTHING like the arrangement shown online. Twice I've had the misfortune to have them fill an order and both total FAILS... Last time the 1 dozen yellow roses were dropping petals the same day delivered and drooping and dying by morning. read more

I ordered flowers for my mother's 90th birthday to be delivered on January 6th, 2017 using the internet website. Sadly the flowers were delivered on January 4th which totally screwed up what I was trying to do by surprising my mom on her 9th birthday. My mother lives in Superior and have always done my business with Engwall's in Superior with no problems. Using the website as I'm told goes to Duluth first then sent to Superior. My order form clearly shows a delivery date of January 6th but for some reason something got lot between Duluth and Superior. The reference number for this order was 00410306. I have done a lot of 5 star business with you in the past but would rate this order a zero is I could. Again, this was my mother's 90th birthday so thanks for messing that up for me... read more

Oh thank goodness for Engwall's! I was trying to order flowers for a friend from out-of-state and ended up using this online service Avas Flowers (DON'T USE THEM) spent two days in a runaround with them before calling Engwall in Duluth and getting a hold of someone who knew what they were doing. Turns out, they will deliver the flowers tomorrow and I can rest easy. Long story short, skip the online heavily marketed sites like 1-800 Flowers, Avas, and TeleFlora and just use local shops. I utilized their website to purchase a flower delivery on a Friday after business hours. I called Saturday morning to confirm and they had "no record of my order." I then made an order over the telephone with a very friendly associate. The flowers were delivered on the day I asked for (Saturday). I ordered an arrangement that included a dozen roses WITH a large clear glass vase and stones in the water and NO Baby's breath, and all three of these items were of sentimental significance to the people who would receive the flowers. Instead, my loved ones received a dozen roses, STUFFED with baby's breath, no large decorative vase and no stones. To top it off, my credit card was charged TWICE, once for the order online which they had "no record of" and once for the order they screwed up. I really wanted to feel good about using a local small business but after this experience I will have to shop around. I was very disappointed. $232 for a dozen roses? NEVER again. read more
