I sincerely believe it's an act of justice to let potential customers know how disappointing my experience with "Engravit" was. I requested some art (praying hands and some flowers) on a commemorative plaque to present at a memorial funeral service. Sam took the order; he drew on a piece of paper the artwork I liked. But what had written was in cursive and in Spanish; He told me to change the words to regular fonts so he would understand it. I came back with the message with new fonts. This time, Michelle looked at what I wrote and said she would send me an email for me to check every word because she wanted to make sure she transcribed the message properly. I checked it and made a minor correction on the writing. Remember, Sam had taken the order and had made notes on the art work I requested, as far as I knew Michelle was making sure the spelling would be correct. When I went to pick up the plaque, it did not have any artwork. When I asked her, she very condescendingly she said, "you didn't remind me of the artwork" I explained that Sam had taken notes and in the original order, I stated what I wanted. She insisted again and again that I did not tell her so it was my fault. When I pushed the issue, she admitted that Sam told her about the artwork after the plaque was made, but still insisted it was my fault for not telling her about the art. She said that when I approved the email, I was approving the final product. In her email I was approving "the spelling" only. Sam had already taken care of the art and I thought it would be added. Anyway, she offered no apologies, she only made sure I was to blame for not reminding her of what Sam admittedly neglected to tell her. Bad service, bad demeanor, not professional. it's very disappointing! read more

Took a very nice knife to engravit to be engraved for a wedding gift. When I went to pick it up... the first thing I noticed was they tore the gift box it was brought in.. looked like they threw it in a trunk or on the ground... then when I opened it to inspect... I couldn't see the engraving... it's almost nonexistent. HORRIBLE service... showed no respect in handling the item or in engraving it... NEVER AGAIN read more

Ray is the sweetest guy ever! I came in here today, not knowing what to expect, and he was very helpful, giving me many choices and designs for the nameplate I wanted to make. I originally wanted a glass one, but they didnt have those so I finally decided on a rosewood piano finish one. Throughout this process, he was very patient and after my decision, he said he would place in the order asap and I could pick it up tomorrow. Later, however, I decided I really wanted a glass one again, so I called in about 2 hours later, and even though Ray had already placed the order, he allowed me to cancel it. Engravit is awesome-it's very personable, friendly, professional with fast service. I was going to order trophies for my piano students recital online, then I have realized that I don't have too much time to accomplish the task, so I called Engravit. The owner Ray was very helpful, gave me what kind of the stock trophies they have, how much and how long it would take. I placed the order, and the trophies were ready in two days, and Ray called me in person to let me know as soon as they were ready. There were small mistakes due to the small miscommunication issues, but then Ray graciously and kindly fixed them very very quickly without any confrontations or discussion. I really appreciate that kind of professionalism and service. I really loved the experience with Engravit, as well as the fact that there were no stiff restrictions to how many words I can put on the plate on the trophies. For example, some cheap online trophy places will charge characters over 40 etc., but there was no such charge with Engravit, and as long as the words can fit on the specific plate, it will be done. If I could leave 0 stars for my review of this business I would. First let me start by saying my wife and I ordered a specific custom plaque honoring an Anniversary. We discussed the type of wood along with the desired marbled metal plate with the agreement the needed wording could be added via email. My wife emailed the proper wording and spelling to Engravit and received an email confirmation back stating when the plaque would be finished. Upon picking the plaque up, I immediately noticed the woman helping us (Michelle?) displaying the plaque at quite an angle, not a direct head-on view and I immediately made a mental note of the fact, it was hard to get a proper view of the plaque. At home, upon closer inspection, there was what appeared to be fingerprints and smudges upon the gloss finish of the wood. I've worked throughout my life dealing with various gloss surface finishes, painting, plastics, etc., so I felt some proper cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth would take care of it, just wipe the prints and smudges off. Well, I was wrong. After attempting several times to remove the spots, the spots remained. Upon closer inspection it appears that the spots are not oily fingerprints and smudges, but they're actually fine scratches in the gloss surface, possibly caused by the metal plate being installed improperly, like somebody scraped the plate against the wood surface when it was being assembled. My wife decided to leave the plaque as is, took it to the gathering for the Anniversary and presented the plaque. So, much to her dismay, after the presentation, somebody noticed an error in the spelling! The issue being the correct spelling of a name on the plaque, Il... (IL...) not the spelling Ll... (LL...) that's on the plaque. My wife immediately called Engravit, spoke to Sam(?) and he instructed my wife to talk to his wife Michelle(?) when we returned with the plaque. Today we returned to the store, explained the problems to Sam's wife Michelle and she immediately grabs a rag and begins trying to wipe off the smudges, all with no success. They're not oily fingerprints, they're actually fine scratches on the surface and we tried explaining this to her and she tried ignoring the fact, proceeding to quickly change the subject, quickly moving on to the spelling mistake, claiming the capital "I" looked like a capital "L". We tried explaining to her the mistake, but she would not accept the simple fact that an error in the spelling occurred, made by Engravit. She then proceeds to explain to my wife they'd have to remove the metal plate, replace it with a plate with the correct spelling and then get this..... ALL AT A COST TO US OF AN EXTRA $25.00! SO, FOR $25.00 MORE AND THE INITIAL COST OF $81.00, A TOTAL OF $106.00..... WE'D RECEIVE A PLAQUE BACK WITH THE CORRECTED SPELLING, STILL DISPLAYING THE NUMEROUS SMUDGES, SCRATCHES AND SCRAPES UPON THE WOOD SURFACE! SO NO THANK YOU ENGRAVIT, WE'LL KEEP OUR $25.00 AND FIND ANOTHER RESPONSIBLE, REPUTABLE, CARING AND QUALITY ORIENTED SHOP TO CREATE A PLAQUE WITH THE PROPER QUALITY NEEDED. read more

This is the place to buy your trophies, signs and plaques, etc. and have them engraved. Look no further. I needed a trophy and medallions for our ping pong tournament. First of all I went to a another trophy store and asked them if I can get my orders the next day. I was told that They can't do a next day order. So I came in to Engrave It at 6pm and spoke with Ray. She is the sweetest person and help me out a lot with my order. I told Ray that I needed them the next day by 2:30pm the next day. At 2pm the next day Ray called me and said my order is ready for pickup since the tournament is today and I have to bring the trophy and medallions back to Chinatown. Ray had to pickup the trophy from another place so she can finished my order at 2pm in the afternoon. She went above and beyond the call of duty to get my order ready in time for our tournament. After using Engravit for various plaques over the last 20 year period and dealing with Vince the previous owner, I now can say after my most recent experience with the current owners, don't waste your valuable time or money at this business. Several mistakes were made on a custom plaque we ordered, then they tried charging an additional $25.00 on top of the $81.00 we'd already paid to CORRECT THEIR MISTAKES! My husband wrote a lengthy review explaining the problems we had and posted here for others to read. My suggestion again, don't waste your time or money here, instead find a reputable shop that does the job correctly the first time and stands behind their work and products if the need arises! read more
