They have benches in case you need to sit down and the park was perfectly glistening at night. This is located close to Benedict's breakfast on the same side of street. Across the street is Wepa Puerto Rican Restaurant. There is a hotel and Largo Central Park right down the street. This park was Named After AW Ulmer who was a pioneer who had a great love and care for Largo.

There is also meter parking on the street. There is construction going on around the park on the outskirts of it The landscaping here is beautiful. Walking path, park, picnic tables, dog friendly lots of green space. They also have the Market Marie here and we recently came for the July 4 fireworks and also when the big huge inflatable rubber ducky came. So many levels of views here with the water and marina in the background. Bay sound is here too where they have concerts. It's a great place and the best place in downtown Clearwater.

They have started…read morehosting many events lately and one of the most recent ones has been the "momma duck" art exhibit and her kid "Timmy". The park itself is very clean and nicely laid out with a cool splash pad for children to play in as well as a nice little park with stuff to climb and slide down and around on. I like that the park had some really clean bathrooms and the stalls didn't have any gaps when I closed the door. Being able to walk around this park and see some beautiful views of the water was something that was very cool because it is right off the water! No matter where I was walking there was something to see and enjoy. There was also a ton of seating around the park so I didn't have to sit on the floor or sit in the way of anyone. I also love that there are both stairs and ramps so that everyone is able to enjoy this park!

This is a really nice playground…read more There is only one entrance and exit to the playground and it's fully fenced in otherwise. So when you see the big lettering that says playground entrance, even though it appears to be directing you to the splash pad, that is indeed the entrance. The ground is fully covered, so no dirt/mulch ground here. This seems to be a pretty new park. It's rather large with a ton of rock wall climbing structures. My kids spent an hour here and didn't want to leave. There is some covering, but it's not over the whole playground so definitely put on sunscreen. It's easy for parents to sit on a bench under shade though. The only reason I'm taking off a star is it smelled strongly of weed. Like very very strong. That was next to the playground area so luckily while in the playground it didn't smell like that. Parking was plentiful and super easy.

For fellow parents, here's my review of the playground: *Great shade - both natural canopy coverages and a canvas screen over the playground. Very important for any FL playground. *Great play equipment - swings (for big and small kids), slides, things to climb. New and well maintained. *Beautiful scenery - right by the water, stunning views. *Safety - I like the foot traffic the disc golf and picnic tables brings, so it's not too desolate feeling I have seen families and other groups gather here and it seems ideal for that. Use one of the many picnic tables or bring folding chairs, bring some food, and you've got a great day by the water. People also seem to love the disc golf course - someone told me it's the only course in St. Petersburg. This is excellent land-use by the city government because it seems to attract a lot of people and seems like a low-cost, eco-friendly way to provide recreation for people. My only feedback for the city is 1) plant even more trees by the playground for even more shade and 2) upgrade the trash cans - the squirrels easily get in them and drag trash out.

Our wonderful Airbnb recommended a visit to this nearby nature preserve (walking distance from where we stayed...) and it was a GREAT for a mid-morning stroll (should have gone at sunrise, but VACATION!!) The park looks small-ish from the main road, but venture in and check out the beautiful boardwalk that will have you "up close and personal" with the mangroves, lots of informative signs about the "residents" of this preserve, and if you're luckier than we were, apparently lots of birds and other creatures. The trail is not incredibly well-marked, but it's short enough that even a wrong turn or two won't leave you hopelessly lost. Clean, scenic, COOL in the shade, and definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!! Enjoy!!
