Alligator on the bank of the lake sunning himself and sleeping.

I discovered this park at the beginning of COVID and never left haha. The karma here is amazing. The environment is calming and beautiful. There is also an abundance of wildlife and natural beauty. I Lake Seminole Park!

Lake Seminole Park is probably one of the best parks to go to in Pinellas County. Tons of shelters, lakes, trails, and play areas for kids; this is a fantastic place to go to for family fun! Shelters come in various sizes and you can always go online to reserve a spot ahead of time. The one shelter we got this time that I went overlooks Lake Seminole and is next to one of the softball fields. The shelter had plenty of tables available and was really close to bathrooms which keeps things convenient. The shelter also has 2 BBQ grills close by, making it perfect for having a group outing. Finally, the views are great and make for a perfect spot for taking pictures and just enjoying the view :)

This is a really cool, relaxing and beautiful park to visit in Seminole - you can see a bunch of different types of wildlife and it's a nice relaxing walk, one recommendation as the sign says -"please do not molest or feed the alligators"!

Came out to park today for a bike ride had a nice time. The park is well keep up Seen a eagle and lot of other animals. The trail had lots of trees made it nice on hot day.

This park is huge and gorgeous. We took our dog to this park and we were hoping for a great trail to take him on. We found it deep into the park. There is a nice paved 2 mile long trail. It has an opportunity to turn off at the one mile mark for a shorter walk. It zigs through trees, has a small overlook onto one lake and another lake in the center of it. There are a few picnic tables and a swinging bench along the trail. We really enjoyed our walk. It was very scenic and we spied a few alligators (in the lake), a rabbit, a woodpecker, an armadillo and a ton of squirrels. The paved trail is wide enough for others to pass by. In other areas of the park, there were a lot of picnic areas with grills. There is a nice playground, a boat ramp, several different ponds/ lakes/ bayous? The park is large and you are likely to find a spot somewhere that will fit your family. I really like this park and we and our pup will be returning again soon.

What a gorgeous park! It is beautiful and well-maintained. There are great benches around the pond and lake to enjoy the views and wildlife. The boat launch was great too! A local friend and I went water skiing and had a great time. I would definitely come back to explore more of the paths and would recommend bringing a camera to capture the beauty!

Love this park and its shaded trails. This park has a running / bike trail that's marked up every quarter mile for 2 miles so it's perfect for training for races or just working on your fitness. There's a playground, boat ramp, baseball field, covered benches and even bike rentals so it's great for a picnic or family outing. It's also pet friendly but please pick up after your dogs. And there's some great wildlife there. Been a regular here for years and I've spotted a range of animals from gators to bunnies to a coyote. There's also some hiking trails if you care to venture out. Every day you'll catch a ton of workout gurus walking, running, roller blading and biking the trail. With the trees hanging over the trail, it's always cooler than you'd expect in the Florida sun.

I love this park. There so much that can be done here, looking for a place to have cookout gather at on of the many covered gazebos that overlook the beautiful lake Seminole. looking to go for a morning or afternoon run then head over to the 1 mile or 2 mike track located in the back end of the park. They do have a play area for kids, as well as a boat ramp if you want to take the boat or jet ski out to the water. They also have a baseball field and available restrooms for your use. There is wildlife here, I've seen alligators, snakes, birds, squirrels and many many more. This is also where i dispose of my recyclable items. Be ready this park is huuuuge and beautiful, you won't be disappointed.

I love this park. I never feel unsafe going here no matter what time of day it is. Unlike other parks in the area, Seminole Lake Park is family friendly and I highly recommend it for anyone who's trying to get in shape. The tarmac paths are wide enough for bikes, strollers, rollerblading, and running. I like that's it's never too crowded on the pathways. The main path is 2 miles long, but offers a 1 mile cut off point. There's a scenic dock at the halfway point. Unfortunately, this dock is being repaired, as of 12-3-16. I've seen plenty of gators here, a variety of birds, raccoons, turtles, snakes, and countless squirrels. The park is well maintained- and that includes the restrooms. There are covered picnic areas (13 in total) scattered throughout the park. In the middle of the park, you'll find "Wheel Fun Rentals". This rental company offers deuce coupes ($25), Surreys ($25/$35) (they have 2 person or 4 person), tandem bikes ($15), chopper ($12), quad sport ($12), cruiser bikes ($10), and children's bikes ($8). All prices listed above our hourly and exclude sales tax. In addition, you can rent kayaks and "water bicycles" as well. There's a snack bar incase you're thirsty from all that exercise! I posted a photo of the snacks sold at the stand. The photo was taken from their website. If you own a boat, bring it on down to the boat ramp. For those interested in softball or volleyball, they have a softball field and volleyball court. The kids can enjoy the playground or learn to fish. This is a wheelchair accessible park, so everyone can enjoy the views of Seminole Lake Park! Enjoy! P.s. Don't forget your picnic basket!

View from Shelter #5

This park is gorgeous! I recently visited for a birthday party at Shelter #5. The shelter was large and just a short walk from the playground. The shelter was large and had many large picnic tables. The view was priceless! We were right in front of the lake. You can see the picture I posted for a glimpse. There was also a large swing nearby (fits 2-3) so you could sit and overlook the water. This park is in good shape, and has staff coming around to clear the trash often. You can go online to reserve a shelter in advance for an event. I suggest #5!

I love how the boardwalk and trails intertwine with the surrounding nature and then open up once you get towards the lookout tower to give you great views of the surrounding landscape. I also thought that it was cool that the water sometimes flows below you as you walk on the boardwalk. You can stay on the boardwalk the entire time so your feet won't even get dirty. There are other paved and unpaved portions of the park that are away from the lookout tower where the grass is a bit more lush and you can do things like play frisbee or yoga. There are also open air bathrooms which makes it convenient in not having to look for somewhere to go outside the park. One thing I did find odd is that there are no windows on the bathroom. It's just open air so if anyone was walking by the bathroom they could look in on you dropping your number ones and number twos. It was nice to find a park though that had unimpeded access to the water and a great mix of nature so if you're trying to get fit or just relax, this is the park for you.

We like it because it's more scenic than some other paved trails. It's also quite long, so you can choose how far you want to go. The first time we kept going alongside I-4 in Lake Mary, but the second time, we turned and went over I-4 (yes, OVER) and then continued down the trail that way before heading back. Coming from Winter Garden, the San Sebastian Trailhead is the closest jumping on point, and it's also near the beginning of the Trail. The trail does extend a couple of miles further across 436 and down by the Costco, but it seems too busy and trafficky that way. My GPS didn't take me to the correct spot for the trailhead, though, so be careful of that. The road to the trailhead is next to the left of the Rooms-to-Go parking lot with only a tiny sign indicating it. If you turn into a neighborhood (like my GPS suggested), you can't get to the trailhead from there. I love to see the art work painted on the backs of wooden fences as I bike down the trail. Someone has done of excellent job of making boring fences look exciting. There's also a decent amount of shade throughout the trail, and I love how they've built two tunnels under major intersections for bikes to safely cross.

However, West Orange is like the bike version of I4. Super crowded and you really have to pay attention. I guess the bike trail just mirrors Orange county traffic in general. So over to Seminole county, and it's more relaxed and less busy but no less the fun! We biked on a day where the high was 75. But in the sun it was quite warm. Make sure to wear sunscreen especially on your upper legs. I totally got burned. We began the bike trail in Lake Mary as it runs behind my boyfriend's neighborhood. We biked to Altamonte and then turned back around. We turned it into a mini "food bike crawl" stopping for lunch at Don Julio and snacks at 7 11 and Panera. A wonderful workout and activity to do with friends and for all ages. I can't wait to do the bike trail again soon!
