This place is horrible. Terry the owner is a condescending prick who treats the customer like they're beneath him. We paid a lot of money for what we thought would be a new engine and when we got it back three weeks later it was just our engine rebuilt but not well. The check engine light was still on and when we went to do our first oil change we found the engine has been mounted oddly so we could no longer use the recommended filter size. Additionally we also found that the vacuum lines weren't connected and laying on the exhaust manifold under the leaking valve cover manifold. The radiator hose was on an antique plastic garden hose shut off (which was broken and leaking) and the plastic tubing had vise grip hose clamps. The exhaust manifold only had one bolt in it and it wasn't even tightened all the way. There were additional leaks that caused a small engine fire with melted wire sheathing. For the money and the time we should have just bought a new vehicle or did the repairs in a parking lot somewhere. So if you want to get ripped off and screwed over hit this place up. But remember to save some money for the post repair repairs. I'll be over here pushing my vehicle off the road and crying over the craptastic services I received. read more

Disaster!!! Read this before using Engine House I worked with a shop in tempe to rebuild the 396 engine in my 1970 chevelle. They used Engine house a number of times in the past with good result. Apparently something changed because my rebuild was a disaster. When they got the long block back from engine house and put it back together, it had a serious knock on startup. They had to pull the engine and turns out 3 lobes wore off on break in. Engine house says "it happens 4-5 times a year". reeeeeeeeallllly?? So they swapped the cam with a different brand sent it back. Shop fired it up and another knock. Turns out something made it's way into the #2 cylinder, left a mark on the top of my brand new pistons and out the exhaust it went. All the whole they were pointing fingers elsewhere. Oh and then I've been trying my to get the details on the parts they put in for my records, simple things like cam data, piston brand, etc. they claim to have no record. So if you want a shop that is good at cashing checks and good at deflecting accountability for mistakes, you should use Engine House. If you need a shop that has good customer service and quality, go elsewhere. The other reviews out there show similar behavior so do yourself a favor and RUN AWAY! read more

These guys are great! I was looking for somebody that would pull my engine rebuild it and put it back in for me. I found the Engine House and that's all the farther I needed to go. Went down to see the facility Terry gave me a tour of the shop, they have all the machine tools you need to build a engine in house. They rebuild my engine and had me got on the road in two weeks! If you're rebuilding a motor, He will get it done right the first time, & Better than new! He rebuilt the engine on my 18 year old Cherokee XJ & it is still running strong & is flawless. Engine House did a rebuild and put back in the original injectors. He charged me for them being sent out and checked to see if they were good. Almost $400. They come back and he tells me they are perfect. Truck runs horrible in fact worse as they forgot to hook up an oil line and the truck overheats on the freeway. Terry at Engine House calls a tow truck out to pick up the disabled truck. About a week later I get it back and it runs horrible. Ripped off and they don't honor their warranty. read more

I pick up my truck after the rebuild (supposedly is done) and approx 9 miles down the road it blows liquid out of engine and overheats. Engine House sends out a tow truck to bring it back to Engine House. I get it back and it has the original problem of hard start, black smoke out of tailpipe and the smell of fuel.I have brought it back and forth and back an forth to Engine House with only the same problem still evident. Engine House would not honor their warranty. I went to Better Business Bureau with complaint and Engine House would not even respond. I spend over $6000 at Engine House and another $1800 at Chevrolet dealer. Chevrolet fixed what Engine House promised to fix. The injectors were not fixed or replaced in the engine rebuild at Engine House. read more
