The 4th year production shows improvement over the 3rd year as I kept the panels clean. However,…read moreit's still about 4.8% below the minimum guaranteed production (accounting 0.25% maximum annual panel degradation). It's 4 year in a row now the system failed to produce the minimum guaranteed production. AWS Solar chose to compensate for the shortfall again; we'll see what the 5th year production looks like. I suggested replacing some of the panels with the higher power ones to solve the issue, but I guess they want to see more data.

I hired AWS Solar to install solar panels on my home In May 2026. They completed the job a few…read moreweeks later. They did a very good jod. I am pleased. However, upon completeing the job, the project manager Tim Broughton called me, helped me log on to the Enphase app so that I could monitor the panels. After I confirmed that I was logged in, I was told that I was up and running And they were done. I was happy thinking I was now running on the sun. Wrong. So very wrong. I received my electric bill and astonished to see the electric portion was over $800.00. I called the power company and was told that the $130.00 application fee had not been paid. I notified Mr. Broughton and he immediatley saw that the bill for the application fee was paid and apologized for the error. Now the fun begins. I called the power company and asked when they would be out to install the proper meter for solar panels. I was informed that no application for a meter to be installed was on file and that I had to submit an application for interconnection. Hmm? No one mentioned anything to me about completing and application or that I had to contact the power company. I completed the PTO (Permission to Operate) form and based on the questions being asked and the information I needed to provide leads me to believe the Solar company was responsible for completing this form and sending the required fee. Ok. Lets not look to for someone to blame, lets just get the proper meter installed. I completed the PTO and submitted it. The power company came out a couple of weeks later and installed the a new meter. Onlyit was not a meter for solar panels. They installed the same new meter but it was the same meter as the meter I already had. I asked them why they didn't put on a solar meter and I was told that I needed to submit a PTO for a SOLAR METER, which is different. And by the way, they have a special person that installs solar meters and a special person to install regular meters. This seemed rather stupid to me. I ask the power comapany rep for the contact info for the solar department and he told he didn't know. I won't name the power company. LADwp. The one good thing the DWP rep did upon arriving to his office was to send an email to contact the proper department at the power company. I assumed he would have just gone about his business and let me flounder. I started on the second application which asked for job site photos. This was to me another indication that the solar installer was suppose to complete this form because Joe Citizen would not know what photos they were required. I did observe that periodically, the workers would take photos, but none were ever sent to me. Now I'm in the middle of August 2026 with fingers, legs, arms, eyes and anything else, maybe the dogs and cats, crossed hoping that this time I will get a meter. The bottom line is I would still recommend AWS SOLAR to anyone, but I'd have to caution them to make sure they get you connected and ALL fees are paid. Because I was dealing with the City of LA and being constantly sent to voice mail and waiting for call backs, this experience was horrendous.

**Outstanding Experience with Solar Optimum -- Highly Recommended!**…read more I first connected with Solar Optimum at their booth at the EV show in San Pedro, and from the very beginning, their salesmanship and customer service were excellent. They followed up promptly, walked me through the available options, and designed a solar system specifically tailored to my needs. As a four-time EV owner and an engineer, I had very specific requirements, and I can say that Solar Optimum was exceptionally accommodating and willing to work with me to get the system I wanted. They handled the entire process, including all the permits and scheduling the installation, and they delivered on their commitments. Everything stayed on schedule, and my system was up and running within a matter of months. What really impressed me was that Solar Optimum managed to fit **two more panels on my roof than any of the previous three solar companies I received bids from**--all of which I ultimately rejected in favor of Solar Optimum. To top it all off, their price was also the lowest! They also made financing incredibly easy, which was another big plus. As an unexpected bonus, the financing introduced me to a new credit union that I now belong to. Since joining, I've discovered additional benefits, including high-interest savings accounts and low-interest auto loans. So, thanks to Solar Optimum, I got a better solar system at a lower price, an easy financing experience, and a new credit union membership that has opened the door to other financial benefits! Overall, Solar Optimum delivered on every front: excellent customer service, a customized system that maximized my available roof space, competitive pricing, easy financing, and a smooth installation process. As someone who approaches these decisions analytically and knows exactly what I want, I couldn't be happier with my choice. **I HIGHLY recommend Solar Optimum to anyone considering solar!** A small suggestion: if you're posting this on Google or Yelp, adding the approximate year of installation could make the review even more useful to prospective customers.

Fox found installation mistakes and helped identify the issue even though they aren't supposed to touch the installation, 2 panels shorted out and I need first American to fix it. The tech made some excuses for not turning up, said they had turned up at a different time for some reason, although my cameras don't show anyone at that time either. It's now been a week and no one will provide me with a day or time for an appointment. They outsource the techs, they do not work for first American. Im left with a system that won't charge, producing 1/3 of the output and im left holding the bag with a company that won't provide support service, you pay the money and then you aren't a priority when it doesn't work. Zero priority even when they missed the appointment. Tony's been answering the phone so he's the only one I can put a good word in for but there's no service reliability from First American after the fact. In 2022, before we owned the home, LA Solar opened a SolarEdge case under its own account and had a second replacement inverter shipped to the address. That unit was never returned. SolarEdge now says our inverter has no active warranty, and its escalations manager wrote that the unit "should have been returned." When our inverter failed this year, LA Solar's story changed at every step, in writing: - They said the case "predates LA Solar Group's involvement." Then they sent a screenshot showing it was opened under their own account. - They said a follow-up case was opened "for reasons that remain unclear." Then they told SolarEdge they opened it themselves. - They said they swapped our inverter on 9/2/2022. Later they told SolarEdge it was September 22, 2022. - They told SolarEdge it "had not approved" a second inverter. SolarEdge's records include an approval email sent to LA Solar's own address on 8/29/2022, and no request to cancel the shipment. - Their final position was that they "cannot accept responsibility" and blamed the previous owner. Replies came only once every day or two, and after more than five weeks of emails nothing has been fixed, while our system sat dead. They have not replied to our final email, sent four days ago. The only help they offered was a $1,200 service visit, the price listed on their website. A record created under their own account cost us our warranty, and they have refused to take responsibility for it.
