So I was in town for a couple of days and whenever I visit LA, I try to hit one of my staples like…read moreJohnny Pastrami's or Pinks. But during this visit, my brother in law informed me that Johnny's was no longer being operated by the original owners and subsequently, the quality of the sandwich that I fell live with over 30 years ago, was no longer to be had. Damn... So, I whipped out my phone and promptly started searching Yelp for an alternative. That's how I found Arts. Arts is a food cart located near LAX, directly across the street from the Target warehouse. While they clearly feature Pastrami, their menu mostly skews towards Mexican street food which was fine by me! We pulled up after 8pm and parked across the street in the Target parking lot because there isn't any parking on the street the cart sits on. Now the pastrami sandwich is $30 - so you need to be committed. It is served on a roll vs sandwich bread like rye so if you are looking for the traditional style, this ain't it. That being said, this sandwich more than holds its own. Generous quantities of pastrami and the roll fresh and soft. We also ordered a chili cheese dog, churros and a couple of aqua frescas. Service was really good and we got our order in under 15 minutes. I would definitely keep this spot on rotation when I need my pastrami fix but I would also want to try some of the more traditional Mexican dishes that are on the menu

"I've been here before..."…read more Then recognized the Chinese restaurant (I've been to a couple of times) a few yards away. But I was in the mood for pizza and wanted to try new digs. I went through their menu beforehand and knew exactly what I wanted: The Gourmet Pizza. Experience dictated parking can be a challenge more especially during the lunch rush, so I prepped for that. Got way lucky I found one near the front. Came through and a couple customers already waiting for their order. There were also a few takeout orders waiting to be picked up. Didn't see anyone dining in, so they're popular for to-go grub. Put my order in and took a seat. About ten (maybe fifteen?) minutes before my food was ready to go. Made to order is always a plus! Got back to work not too long after and my pie was still hot. Plenty of toppings and the thin crust was crispy at the outer layers. Each bite was savory and flavors from all the toppings came together nicely. I really liked it! I ordered a small but was only able to consume half. There was plenty for a second meal. FOOD: 5. SERVICE: 5. VALUE: 4. PARKING: Small Private lot up front, more in the back. Street also available. OVERALL: 4.5. The only little snag?! The pie was sliced into four pieces which were a bit too big for my personal preference. Will most likely request for 8 slices the next time. There will be a next time! Might take interest in their lunch specials then.

The pizza arrived in good shape and tasted solid, but nothing really stood out compared to some of the other options nearby. I would order it again in a pinch, but it's probably not somewhere I would go out of my way to visit in person.

If you're looking for a good, casual spot to grab some pizza, this is definitely worth checking out, especially if you're in the LAX area. I ordered their special of 2 slices of pizza with a drink for $9.99 from Miriam who was super nice. The pizza was really good, flavorful, and satisfying, and I love that you can order by the slice instead of having to commit to an entire pizza. The inside of the restaurant is nice, clean, and comfortable, with a casual and welcoming atmosphere. They also have TVs around the restaurant, which is a nice touch if you want to sit down, enjoy some pizza, and catch a game before heading to LAX for a flight. They have plenty of drink options as well, including fountain drinks and canned drinks. And they even have beer! Because honestly, pizza and beer are the perfect combination. It's nice to have the option to grab a cold beer and relax with your pizza. They also have tables and chairs outside, which is another nice option if you prefer to sit outdoors and enjoy your meal in sunny Los Angeles. Definitely a good casual spot to grab a couple of pizza slices, sandwiches or pasta.

We ended up trying the Carne Asada, Honey Brie, Tropical Hawaii, Truffle Mushroom, and Cheese pizzas and every single one was delicious. The crust is perfectly thin and cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of crispness. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients in every bite. We also ordered the wings, which were perfectly crispy with just the right amount of sauce. The seasoned fries were absolutely delicious, and the sweet potato fries were just as amazing. To top it all off, we had their homemade cookies, which were so good! I wish I had taken more pictures, but honestly, everything disappeared so fast because it was that delicious. If you're a beer lover, you'll appreciate their impressive selection. They offer a great variety of both draft and canned beers, so there's something for every beer enthusiast. The service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming, and the atmosphere made it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. They also offer homemade tiramisu and a variety of delicious cakes for dessert, which we'll definitely be coming back to try. One thing I always notice is cleanliness, and the restrooms were spotless a detail that's always appreciated. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations. Amazing food, excellent service, great atmosphere, and high-quality ingredients. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try you won't regret it!

Be warned, the chili salsa included is VERY HOT / SPICY. I said "with everything " because I just never thought it'd be that spicy. But it was!! Incredibly hot. Was still edible and delicious tho. Service was great and very friendly. They seem to have a lot of regulars because almost everyone that was there were having good conversations with Nate and his wife. Very welcoming atmosphere. Especially since I was a bit skeptical about the area. Parking wasn't hard to find and only a few people were there so the wait wasn't very long. Definitely will be back soon for the hot dogs, but this time will ask for only a bit of the chili salsa!

I add a little green salsa on top or I dip the taco into the cup of consome and that combo hits home just right. The service is fast and friendly and the truck has a built-in bar with a few chairs, so you can enjoy the food right there on the spot. The ambiance is average, as you get all kinds of people visiting the truck at night, from folks getting off work to pretty tipsy bar goers. All in all, still okay and the food is great!

Mehhhhhh... I'm calling BS on previous reviews!!…read more I was very eager to order from this place for the first time, based on 50% customer reviews and 50% photos. Highly disappointed to see that my skirt steak burrito wasn't even close to the way it was described (or looked.) I mean, it could've at least been close. Burrito is VERY bean and rice heavy. So much that I had to open it up to be sure that there actually was skirt steak inside (couldn't tell even after 4-5 bites.) Flavor was literally just good enough. Nothing overwhelmingly delicious and nothing agreed with my stomach. The GUACAMOLE is phenomenal and was by far the best "dish" in my order. Chips are also nice & crispy and seasoned well. Also did not like the habanero salsa. It had the heat but wasn't very flavorful. Although my order was prepared correctly, I will not try Marco's Kitchen again.
