I have been thinking about moving to a senior living facility for several years. I love my home…read moreand almost an acre yard, but I knew taking care of it was getting more difficult. I have visited most of the care facilities in our county and decided that a Continuing Care Community was the best option for me. I had visited University Village in 2022 but was not really serious about moving. I called them this year and talked to Martha Macker, one of their Marketing reps. She took me and 3 friends to visit one of their garden terrace units; it was like love at first sight. Any hesitations about moving left that afternoon. They have waiting lists and Martha has been there for advice and assistance through the application process. I am now on the active waiting list where I am advised when a unit I am interested in becomes available. I am really excited about becoming a resident there and believe I will enjoy many safe, fun and activity filled years in a beautiful setting.

The med staff was putting bandaids on the wound and the PALs were stuffing toilet paper in his sock to soak up the fluid. He spent 6 weeks in hospital and nearly had his foot amputated. No one from Belmont would talk to me when I took him to the hospital! I believe their attorneys forbid it when they screw up so badly. ***I would NEVER recommend this place.*** I was constantly having to have discussions with admin for poor service. Truly disgusting they would neglect their residents the way they did my dad.

OakView skilled nursing facility is a top-notch location for acute rehab. From the moment you drive…read moreup to the facility, walk into the building and go to your assigned room, you can see the building is very well taken care of and nicely decorated. This is important as it shows their attention to detail. In the room, there is a lovely armoire for every patient to use for their belongings along with a nightstand, hospital bed and tray. The armoire is much nicer and larger than the usual small closet you find in most facilities. The true star of the facility are the employees. The CNA's are always quick to respond and provide you with the service you need. The LVN's who dispense the medication are equally quick to help and all of them have kind words along with words of encouragement for each patient. Unfortunately, I have been in numerous facilities and non of them compare. OakView is fine tuned and runs very smoothly. Administrative staff checks on the patients frequently to make sure all needs are met. Treatment plans are prepared by medical staff. And the social worker is very kind and extremely helpful in taking care of the patient while on the premises but also after they leave OakView. She even called me two days after my release from OakView to check on me and to see if there was any additional needs I had. I was extremely impressed by this as I had never had this happen before. Never was there a social worker that did a third of the work this woman did let alone follow through and show she cared every step of the way. OakView feels like a resort with medical assistance, not a skilled nursing facility. The food is excellent and if it's not to your liking, the chef is willing to prepare something that meets your desires. No other facility I know of does that. If and when I need to be in a skilled nursing facility again, I hope I am blessed to be able to find a room at OakView. I highly recommend it. P.S. They also have an assisted living facility.

Across the parking lot, they have an assisted-living and a skilled nursing. I think through the time that my parents lived there. They probably had all three facilities well utilized. My dad died at Oakview in 2009 and we were treated with the utmost respect and there are some special messages that were said to me on that very sad day that I will treasure in my heart forever. My mom had to make the move from her studio living and had to go straight to skilled nursing because there's certain things they can't take in assisted-living. Everyone from our amazing administrator, Sheri to ALL our compassionate and respectful caregivers The homes (there are 4 total on the property) are immaculately maintained with beautiful decor, not to mention the professionally landscaped grounds and organic garden! ALL living areas and bedrooms are spacious with private bathrooms too! All meals are freshly prepared with fruits and veggies from the garden The parties are always fun with great food and live entertainment! It's been months of back and forth trying to get my father open to this idea of living in a senior community-which was a huge challenge. Marian, from day one, has just been incredible! There aren't enough words to say how amazing, kind, patient, and supportive she really is. We recently moved my dad into Hillcrest and we couldn't be more grateful for the incredible experience we've had so far! In such a short time, my siblings and I have seen great positive changes already! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with open arms by the amazing and supportive staff. Marian, and all the staff here genuinely cares -- not just about the residents' basic needs, but about their comfort, happiness, and dignity. The facility is immaculate -- always clean, fresh-smelling, and beautifully maintained. It's clear that attention to detail and cleanliness is a top priority, and that gives us so much peace of mind. My dad says the food is very good, always warm and nice full meals at each dining time. The transition for our father was something we were nervous about, but the compassionate team made it smooth and reassuring for him (and for us).
