So much fun!!! In a year we did all of the rooms. friendly and happy staff. some of the rooms are harder but always an amazing time.

Did 2 rooms here w friends. One of them, Bikers, was a bit too dark but the aesthetic of the dimness fit in well with the room. There was some cool interaction with this room for a bit in particular. Another one, Vampires. even though also dark, was setup to light up at all the right times. Vampires is probably very highly rated for escape rooms in the country and was certainly one of my favorite experiences personally. Game master and staff have escape room running down to a science. This company has been here for 7 years and they plan to change Bikers theme soon. The entrance is a bit tricky to find as the website said to go down a set of steps on the side. While this is still true, you need to go down a different flight of stairs w a blue awning instead. read more

This was my first time doing an escape room and the first for my SO as well. We were visiting friends who have done a few and loved them so they booked for us to do Biker's Revenge on a Saturday afternoon. They did the reservations and everything so I can't speak to that. Upon entering one from our group checked in while two of us searched the lobby for handprints to get extra clues. We all signed our waivers and then were guided back behind the curtain to enter our room. The design was great. You really felt like you were in a bar and there was a lot of detail to the decor. We had a little trouble figuring out where to start but we were able to just ask our game master for a clue when needed. It is such a fun, hands on experience. The puzzles were fun. I enjoyed the variety and that it wasn't just figuring out combinations to locks. Unfortunately we didn't escape in time, but just a few more minutes and we would have had it. The four of us all had a great time and though. This was my first experience so I didn't have a lot to compare it to. However it was great and definitely made us fans of escape rooms. I've done a bunch of escape rooms and this is easily in my top 3. We did the Intergalactic War room with just three of us and managed to "escape" with less than a minute left on the clock! The rooms are REALLY immersive and well designed, and the puzzles are difficult enough to feel challenging but clever and clear enough that you don't feel like you're being asked to do too much. I also have to point out that the staff are EXCELLENT. Truly welcoming and involved. Even the lobby entrance is fun and quirky. And the price is excellent. I'm used to Philadelphia pricing on these things, but the weekend rate of $29 per person was insanely worth it!!! read more

ESCAPETHEROOMers visited Encrypted Escape Room back in March 2019. There is so much to do in this area from restaurants to shopping. There was metered parking all around and a couple of parking lots in the area as well. The facility is located in the basement so as of right now they are not handicap accessible. They currently have three rooms available and we were able to play them back to back. The lobby area was quite spacious a lot of decorations including a huge graffiti mural which was designed by one of their local artists. As soon as you're ready to start your game, they peel back the curtains for you to walk down this long hallway. When you enter the "Biker's Revenge" room, you are instantly immersed into a biker bar w/ tons of decor. The room design was incredible and the puzzle challenges correlated with the objective of the storyline very well. There was a good mixture of high tech incorporated into the room as well as traditional locks. For the most part, the game was linear from start to finish. Although Mechelle was our game master and provided some really good hints, we failed. Sadly, we had the last item in our hands and could not find where to place it in time in order to complete our mission. The next room that we are attempting to escape from is "Viking Raid". Since we came so close to escaping the last room, we were back with a vengeance this time! The "Viking Raid" room was a lot more immersive due to the set design and innovative puzzle challenges. This room was mostly tech with no traditional locks. The storyline was very creative and entertaining from the beginning to the end. We could definitely see the upgrades that were implemented into this room after the last one. "The Last Vampire" room was their newest room and was amazing! This room checked all the boxes for us - immersive, challenging, story-driven, technological and traditional! We expected this room to outshine the other two mainly because it was newer and had a more engaging theme. Encrypted did NOT disappoint! The decor of the room was top notch and the puzzle designs were cleverly created to compliment the storyline. WOW! I have never done an escape room before, and this blew me away! We did the vampire room and it was awesome! Some jump-scares, so little ones may not like it, but we had a great time! It was super immersive and the staff was extremely friendly! There were five of us, and we still found it very challenging. They have an awesome game in the lobby where you are able to get more clues to use during your escape. Those extra clues were needed! An absolute blast! read more

We did the Viking Raid room and it was SO GOOD!!! My brother and I have probably done over 100 rooms at this point, and this was our 6th room of the day, which meant we were already pretty wiped out. But this room energized us so much and we had the best time playing it. If you are a big escape room fan this place is a must hit! So good, so well-themed, staff was great and puzzles were excellent and smart. We will definitely be back to play through their other rooms! read more

Pleasantly surprised at how much fun it was! Went here for a friend's birthday with a group of people. Only one of us had done an Escape Room before so we pretty much had no idea what to expect. Even though we signed in late, the hostess still managed to accommodate us and gave us clear instructions about the Escape Room, what to do, and what not to do. We did the Viking Raid. It was honestly so much fun, engaging, and so hilarious. The props and puzzles were well-made and a lot of thought was put into the rooms. We all had a blast. Highly recommended. A beautiful room and attentive staff. They were incredibly polite and accommodating on the phone and in-person. The location is sub-level, and the designers have used this to their advantage for the darkly themed rooms. We were led down a dark, sconce-illuminated corridor to the Viking room. Awesome atmosphere. Back to the experience itself. The Viking room is dimly lit and consists of more than one room. There are a good deal of puzzles to solve. The room itself was challenging. While the room can be done with as few as two people, I don't recommend it. It is not a linear room- there is no order to most of the puzzles, so people can be working in different areas towards different goals. Ideally you may want to bring a group of 5-6. The rule here is that you can ask for two clues, three if you like them in social media. We needed two of those clues. They gave a few extra little clues and hints without us asking, maybe because we were only two people and the room was not easy. The guide we had also extended our time by about 1 and a half minutes because we were super close to finishing the room and I'm pretty sure she genuinely cared about whether we had fun. I really appreciated that. I think it's a really good business practice to care about whether the patrons have fun when you're in an entertainment industry. We probably spent a little too much time in the first room. Shoot for trying to get into the second room within the first ten minutes. You'll need plenty of time in the second room. The only thing lacking was a little more direction, not from the host, but with the puzzles themselves. The rope puzzle was wildly obscure. The necklace- it's hard to know where to start a puzzle on an item that is circular. Overall this was a great experience. At a price point that's five bucks less than competitors it was well worth it. If you're reading this review and wondering if you should try it, the answer is 'yes, do it'. I am looking forward to returning to do the vampire room and the biker bar room. read more

Not a fan. I've done other escape the rooms in the area and I would not recommend this one. We booked a party of 6 people to find out we were being jammed in the room with another party of 6 strangers. The staff completely brushed me off when I showed concern about it being too crowded. My party didn't have the chance to solve a single puzzle and I got bumped into and knocked over so many times that I'm actually sore from the experience. I feel like if you're booking for a party of 6 and paying that much, it should be a private experience. We were crammed in the room like sardines. I'm really unhappy with my experience. read more

We have done 15+ escape rooms around the US and this is definitely in the top 3 of best rooms! We did the bikers revenge, which had amazing decor and challenging puzzles! The game isn't linear like some escape rooms, which allowed for each of us to work on different puzzles at once. Puzzles were challenging and creative, as we had never seen some quite like it in other escape rooms! They only give clues when asked, and do not explicitly tell you what needs to be done if you are stuck like other escape rooms we have visited in the past. Escape room? Fairly new concept to me. Escape room in West Reading under a restaurant? Can this be worth it? Well, let me tell you that it most certainly is! A group of 10 of us (not all of us knew each other in the beginning) did Bikers' Revenge a little over a week ago. It was exciting; there were lots of great and fun props; the Chief Master gave little clues at just the right moments; and the feeling of success at the end of it (with 7 minutes to spare, let me say!) is still being felt by all of us today. Had we not chosen a late-evening visit to this room, we probably all would've signed right up for a second room. Also, we cannot wait until the Vampire room opens!
