This used to be one of my favorite places to shop - good selection, clean store, helpful staff, and nice dressing rooms. The new owners obviously have no clue what they are doing! The sizes are often labeled wrong, the store is way too crowded with clothes, and they have closed the dressing rooms. I no longer shop here, and I wouldn't advise anyone else to either. What a shame! read more

If consigning do not ask for the unsold items to be "donated" to charity. Your items will disappear and the shop will claim the items were "dusty" or had hair on them. That even includes shoes. This place is dishonest. The attitude of the staff is underwhelming leaving one to believe that dishonesty is their primary objective. read more

Today I went in for some shoes. It's been a bit since I've been in.... and it looks horrible. They seem to be trying to fill the store as packed as you can. Encore has changed their store layout. They now look more like a Salvation Army store than a consignment business. There are masses of clothing - much of it unsorted on racks at the front of the store. There are shoes - So many shoes - on top of every rack...they are not nice shoes either. Its disorganized and difficult to shop in. I used to love going there but not now. read more

I have to agree with Christine W. I Have been going to the Encore Shoppe for several years. Their sign says "Classy Consignments". Well it is no longer classy. I want the new owners to know how insulting it is to walk into a once nice thrift store and find it dirty. This was a very nice store with very nice displays and great pricing. I don't understand why someone would buy a thriving classy business, and then change it this way. There are plenty of other thrift stores in this town that have the cheap dirty crap. I will cherish the memories of a once nice store but I won't come back. If I wanted a Goodwill Experience I would go to Goodwill. read more

I think something is odd about their consignment process under new ownership! I took in a full length fox fur coat. They sold it for $29! Ebay value $500. The new layout is too tight the isles are too narrow. It's hard to search the racks because they are packed so tight. It's hard to get two carts past each other while shopping especially if there is anyone else shopping at the same time and standing where you need to get by. The gal restocking items (who was very nice) had to park her rack at the end of the row while she worked but it blocked off the next two rows of clothing.I understand trying out a new idea, but maybe you would consider putting the rows back the way they were? It sure did flow a lot better. Oh also the shoe racks on top are chaos and really hard to shop. I still like this store and look forward to when you get everything ironed out. I hope the new owners listen to their customers. We really do want them to succeed. read more

A little disappointed the last few times going into the Encore shop on 1st & Orchard. I heard today that they have new owners, we will definitely be missing the old owners.They knew what they were doing. Always took in good quality stuff to resell. This store is a mess. There is stuff all over the place, it is not organized and not very good quality. Items that they're taking in now. Very disappointed we'll probably never go back. That is sad.We have been going to the encore shop since they were on Hyw 6 & 50, then on Rood and now on 1st and orchard. I've been taking my granddaughters there before they were even born in their Mommy's tummy. read more

I've had two bad experiences with Encore. both times I brought items to sell,: the first time, years ago, I brought very nice men's clothing, on hangers, pressed fresh from the cleaners, and a nice stereo set. I went back a week later and there was no money, and all my items had been sent to " charity ". This past Friday I brought in a half a dozen brand new dresses (temu trap), and about as many pairs of never worn shoes, and a great pair of cowboy boots. Went back today (Monday) all my items are gone and no money for me! read more

I found a pair of western boots and a belt for one of my grands. I wasn't sure the belt would fit and asked the girl behind the counter if she might slip it around her waist to see if I thought it would fit. She acted as if I had asked her to handle a rattlesnake! No! she screamed. Yes, screamed. At me, a paying customer who was going to spend about $150 in a secondhand store. I asked why not? She said she didn't have to and wasn't going to. Okay. I did purchase the items, but I won't be back. I'll take my $ to Murdock's or Tractor Supply and buy brand new stuff on clearance for the same price. Love the selection and the prices here. I found lots of clothing that is nicer than many thrift stores at very competitive prices. Go downstairs and you will find beautiful and complete sets of china and other dishware. Lots of kitchen and household items. Furniture is aggressively priced to move (meaning really inexpensive). It is not a furniture shopping destination, though. Not all that much of it. But, what they have is appealing. As often is the case, they have a better selection of women't clothes than men's clothes. But - I recommend this as a good place for the bargain shopper with an eye to quality. read more

The blonde with glasses and several tattoos is very rude and impatient each time my daughter and I have shopped. I tried to find a manager but could not locate one. I will be visiting with a manger in person. I don't plan on returning for rude customer service and high prices. read more

My recent experience was troubling. I brought two items to sell, one was rejected because they had stopped taking winter clothing and I was asked if I would leave it to be donated for charity. Since the attendant was unfriendly I said no and took it to Goodwill. The other item was accepted. It was in perfect condition and I returned a week later to check my account. I was told by a different employee that there was a note on my account that the item was rejected and donated to charity. I'm very doubtful and disappointed since the item was brand new and I was told one thing and something else was done after I left. This would be my last visit to this store. read more

Very clean and great customer service. Ladies clothing is all in good condition and many good labels... but I wouldn't say their specialty is trendy or upscale clothing by any stretch. Great selection of girl's clothing downstairs. On occasion they will also have very reasonably priced used furniture and I have been very satisfied with my shelves/end tables.
