They have gone above and beyond with such gracious hospitality to make sure that I got meds that were on back order in time before I left the country. I was debating on leaving a review but after seeing what this pharmacy says about themselves on yelp I felt compelled " Encore Pharmacy is a family owned pharmacy. We take most major insurance plans and your co-pay is the same as the chain stores but with out the long lines. We pride ourselves on our customer service." This is most certainly NOT TRUE! They charged me over $60.00 on top of my small co-pay telling me that as a family owned pharmacy they could not take a loss as other big chains. Not only is this against the contract they are under with the insurance companies but against the law!! They also show the charge as "misc" and only show the co-pay to the insurance company so unless you call your insurance company to inquire they would never know. I hope to save other people from being over charged. If they'll tell you your co-pay doesn't cover there cost please inquire with your insurance company. I would also hope they take off their yelp statement which is just not true match co-pays!!! When you put your business on yelp you need to take the bad reviews with the good. P.S. they did refund my 60.00 and told me I wasn't welcomed back to his pharmacy read more

This pharmacy is hands down amazing! I have been going for years and thought it was about time I gave them the credit they deserve! My dermatologist is a few doors down and so whenever I have a prescription she writes it to pick up here . Every time I go to pick up my prescriptions it's never more than a few minutes from the time I walk through the door from my dermatologist sending it a few minutes prior! Also the customer service is spectacular! The girl at the front is one smart cookie ...she is organized and on point. As for the pharmacist .. he's great as well! He always takes care of all the insurance stuff quickly and that's such a nice feeling. This is the spot for all your pharmacy needs. Had to have prescription eyedrops prior to cataract surgery on 11/21. Due to a telephone problem (on my part) I did not receive a message from them. Jocelyn at Encore Pharmacy was excellent and tracked down the prescription and medication and overnight shipped my medications. If she had not done such great follow-up I probably would not have received my medications and that could have delayed my scheduled surgery. Christmas week '21 was a particularly challenging one with the omicron Covid variant spreading like wildfire and putting all gatherings in peril. People were scrambling desperately to find at-home tests and wonder of wonders, I got a text from a friend saying Encore had a bunch and to get over there asap, which I did. The pharmacist, who was a very nice man, said yes indeed we have them and they had been selling like hotcakes and he had never seen anything like it. Over 400 sold just that morning alone. I asked for six (i was also purchasing for two friends) and he obliged without hesitation. He asked me where I normally got ny prescriptions filled and when I mentioned CVS he gave me his card and said his prices are way better than the chains. I said, 'good to know' and took the card then asked to settle up. This is when he told me the tests were $35 per box! That seemed way high even by Beverly Hills standards. I took a beat and had to consider it, but was certain I wasn't going to find any others before xmas, so I bit the bullet and paid up. I should have checked right then and there, but it was desperate times and I was in a rush. When I got home I discovered these these FlowFlex normally sell for $12 per box! The week before i had gotten the Abbot Bimax test (supposed to be the best ones) from CVS for $23 and Bimax had 2 tests per box, FlowFlex one. Guess he doesn't really beat the chains prices, does he? Price gouging like this is unforgivable (and actually a crime). I admittedly have no way of knowing what Encore paid for them, but find it hard to believe whatever markup they got from the distributor justifies what they charged me. It is wrong to price-gouge people in pandemic crisis mode. SHAME! So -definitely NOT going back here ever again. read more

I called last month (January) to fill my prescription. I found out that there was quite a big price discrepancy between the payment from the previous month and I asked for the manager or pharmacist to call and explain why the price would be so drastically different. The individual took down my information and said that I would receive a call in the next couple of days. Fast forward to today, February 15th, I did not receive a call in all that time period. So, when I called to fill my prescription for this month, I asked about the price discrepancy again and mentioned that I was still waiting on a phone call back from the manager or pharmacist. To which the man, Ben, responded with telling me that he was the pharmacist. He explained that he took a look back and said that a mistake must've been made, and the pharmacy must've taken the hit for the price difference. I then inquired about not yet receiving a call back from when I called back in January. At this point, Ben's tone and temper shifted. He went back and forth with me about how I should try to be understanding and if I watched the news, I would know that they're short staffed due to covid. I then asked to speak with someone else to take care of my prescription needs because I did not appreciate beings spoken to with such disrespect. Covid or not, short staffed or not, customer service from the pharmacist himself is lacking. This was not a pleasant experience and the tone, temper, and condescending remarks about me needing to be more understanding and needing to watch the news...well, this is just completely unnecessary and ridiculous. read more

I recently went to encore pharmacy to pick up a prescription from an office above. I was treated with such kindness and care, I will never go back to my old pharmacy I am only going to encore from now on. The staff were so incredibly understanding and helpful during a time where I felt very frantic and panicked, they were so knowledgeable and helpful to me that it really changed my whole day around. Don't use this pharmacy. Every single time I have a medication sent in I have to wait days for the most simple thing. You go in and call before and they still won't have it ready. I have been on a medication every day for four years and despite being sent it three days ago and assuring me it would be ready; I still don't have it, nor will they give me an eta.
