I have had the best experiences EVER at Dr. Roberts office. I have had years of teeth implants, root canal at regular dentists and then I was told my gum disease would result in losing all my teeth. My gums were a bevy of horrible pocket numbers ..up to 14!When my regular dentist told me I needed a periodontist to try and save my teeth I burst into tears! After meeting Dr Roberts and his wonderful staff I was happily surprised. They are so helpful, explain everything throughly and they laugh a lot which is unusual(from my past experiences at periodontists). Dr Roberts performed a 4 hour surgery with such a gentle touch. Since healing, I have had numerous follow up cleaning and check ups. My gum pockets are in the 3s and 4s.. and have remained so for the past year and a half. Dr Roberts and his team gave me a really good daily care program for me at home and when I travel.. So helpful! I am beyond grateful for finding a doctor of this caliber and actually look forward to my appointments, because the news continues to be good and the staff is amazing! Since I am in my 60s and have a poor genetic dental history in the my family, I didn't think I had a chance to save my teeth, but because I found an MD with amazing abilities, I am so thrilled to travel the world with my teeth in good health. Just want to extend so much gratitude to Dr. Roberts and his warm and caring staff. Thank you ! read more

I have had the best experience at Encinitas Perio! I had my first consultation back in 2018 with Dr. Roberts for gum recession throughout my entire mouth. Dr. Roberts was great at walking me through the gum grafting process, but I wasn't ready then to go through with the surgery due to job change and my upcoming wedding. Life got crazy, and I ended up coming back for the surgery in December 2021. This time Dr. Traxler took over my care. In those three years, I had changed dentists and seen another periodontist who did not offer the same patient attentiveness or insurance coverage options that I had received at Encinitas Perio. Dr. Traxler set my mind at ease and answered all of my questions and even responded to texts I sent him during the healing process. I am thrilled at the result of my gum grafting surgeries. I highly recommend Dr. Roberts and especially Dr. Traxler, and really appreciate the rest of the team at Encinitas Perio! Thanks guys! read more

Unfortunately, I have teeth that are very prone to decay and other problems, so I've seen many dentists over the years. Dan and his staff have earned the top position in my list of periodontists. Dan's dedication and commitment to providing me with the very best and most stable treatment outcomes possible is deeply touching and much appreciated. An example of his commitment is that if while in the middle of performing a particular treatment, he discovers a previously unknown problem at the site, he will go ahead and fix it, not necessarily asking for additional compensation. He is a generous, kind and caring person. And that goes for his staff as well. Together they provide a wonderful service. read more

If you have a problem with receding gums and looking for an excellent periodontist, who can restore your gums and return your smile back, this is the place for you. I would highly recommend Dr. Traxler. He explained the procedure in every little detail. Everything was done on time as it was planned, and while I was healing, I contacted him several times with some questions and he was very quick to respond and answer to all of my questions. All the stuff in the office is excellent and very attentive to all the little details. The office itself is very clean and equipped with the latest technology. Real five-star experience. read more

I've been a patient of E. PERIO for a few years, receiving treatments and procedures both routine and complex, including surgery. The two doctors are excellent: my own, Dr Traxler, exudes competence, confidence, and good cheer. The hygienist named John is the best I have ever experienced, and is indeed very patient with such a sensitive, uh, patient as myself! The office and front desk personnel are exceptional: very kind, professional, and extremely attentive to every detail. What a great dental group! As soon as I came in the door, I was greeted by Kelly who was so friendly and welcoming. I was introduced to the "other" Kelly who was my hygienist and again was friendly and calming while she worked on my teeth. Then I saw Dr. Roberts who had a kind and easy personality yet confident in his treatment plan. You could immediately see that the whole staff works well together.
