Felicia and her crew were able to set us up with a very nicely appointed 32' motorhome. They even gave us an in depth orientation of all the many functions of the RV. Thanks to the checklist provided by Felicia, we were able to pack up the RV with all of the supplies we needed to be comfortable and prepared for the next three and a half weeks. On the road, the staff was available to help us with some of the minor snares we ran into while traveling so far. I always felt supported on our trip. One of the best parts was that our rental was pet friendly. It was great to have the companionship of our two small dogs while we traveled. Every step of the process was seamless for us and we were able to enjoy our time out on the road as a family. I would highly reccomend American Dream Vacations to anyone and everyone. It was a great alternative to a long flight and not being able to have my dogs. My husband and I did a long trip but we are already considering renting again for a local weekend trip.

The fridge in the trailer didn't work from the moment we started loading groceries. When we contacted them, they said we could meet them somewhere to fix it--but we were already headed out of town, so that wasn't realistic. Then, on our first morning camping, the propane system failed completely. No cooking, no hot water. After troubleshooting with them over the phone, we had to drive over 2.5 hours round trip to buy a camp stove and supplies. They said they'd reimburse us, but after four weeks and multiple follow-ups, we had to go back and get the camp stove and return it ourselves. We paid full price for a trailer that was broken from the start and received no financial consideration for the major inconveniences. Completely unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and rent from someone else.

It was realllly hard to narrow down my purchasing choices, but settled on the primrose lip tint and rosehip + thistle perfume roller, which I loooooveeeee. I had the opportunity to learn so many fascinating details from Cebastian & Robin about Dryland Wilds, and our unique plant life, in a lovely workshop at Spur Line this past week. In this particular class, we put our hands and noses to work, compounding and mixing, putting together some customized resin incense creations...it was a blast, my house smells amazing, and I'm looking forward to sending some Dryland Wilds gifts off to friends who've moved out of state and miss the sites and smells of our high desert heaven.

I'm workin' on three weeks of applying an all natural, sans-aluminum deodorant from this company,…read moreand I might as well throw out my old stick, I'll never use it again. My tiny, two ounce jar of Desert Deodorant from Dryland Wilds is such a powerful and intense product, a teensy dab does my pits plenty, just once a day, and I often sniff myself, if only to be briefly transported to the air of Abiquiu. This is an incredible company, with a simple approach to sourcing health and beauty products in harmony with the natural world. I'm so glad they call New Mexico home. A few more brief notes. Robin Moore and Cebastien Rose are transplants from California and the Pacific Northwest, with plenty of experience crafting products from plants and herbs. They moved to northern New Mexico to live a life in the high desert wilds, while running a business that sustainably expanded our knowledge and appreciation for native species. Alongside the product line, they teach small classes at various festivals and businesses around the state; last week, I had the pleasure of hand-moulding tree sap incense, infused with flowers and essences, and I learned that much of what I thought I knew about the shrubs and weeds of this state were common misperceptions. Basically, if you want to heal yourself, you can start in your own backyard. And that's why these marvelous women satisfy my personal narrative about why I live here. I grew up in the midwest, where natural beauty -- from lakes and streams to lush green forests and abundant wildlife -- were an assumed aspect of everyday existence. The harsh sunlight and dry climate of my second home, in Albuquerque, was an altogether opposite journey where I learned to appreciate the subtleties and tremendous power of the overlooked: the hues of a mesa or a sunset, a sage breeze drifting past my nose, the quiet resilience of an ever-thirsty land. I'm quite sure that Robin and Cebastien have an even stronger appreciation for these daily observations, and their products reflect a philosophy that makes me wanna smear my sweaty, stanky pits with arrowroot powder and milk of magnesia on the regular.

I wasn't looking to learn any tricks, but had become comfortable enough on the road that I wasn't feeling the need for much rudimentary work. I had taken the MSF class a couple years ago but never rode again until recent weeks, at which point I had taken the bike out for a collective 100 miles or so. Do I really need a riding lesson? Come to find out, I totally needed a riding lesson! I didn't realize how much I would benefit from physically getting to know the bike, from experimenting with my weight, counterbalance techniques and handle bar steering, being encouraged to make tighter and tighter turning radii. It was all so basic, yet all so enlightening, and 3 hours flew by. Cassie is a tiny little lady who handles a big@ss BMW adventure bike like a dang legend (and she seems to be in proper standing with some other legends in field too). Even my annoyingly self-confident husband handed it to her. But also, she's super unassuming, very knowledgeable, and intuitively perceptive about what needs explaining and how. As a female rider, my experience with male riders (husband included) has been that they are less likely to understand my fear of dropping a bike, falling over, or breaking a hip! Female riders have been more understanding of that initial timidity, and Cassie offered just the right level of empathy and encouragement. That said, she doesn't only coach gals. Her website actually advertises "Everybody Only. Motorcycle Training for Anyone." And you better believe that she's prepared to train you, regardless of your gender, your riding level, or your goals for motorcycling. For the record, her prices are very reasonable, and she offers individual and class training environments. She travels to location too. We met in a big parking lot off Pan American, but from what I could tell she was willing to meet me in a location of my choosing. Highly recommend this trainer, and can't wait to go back!

After lessons with Cassie, my confidence and understanding of my bike increased 10 fold. I will gladly blame Cassie for my new motorcycle purchases - she teaches skills that can be generalized to all bike types. Being a short (5'1") rider, I used to feel limited in my motorcycle options. The skills I learned from her opened up so many options for me in riding and bike styles. I always left lessons feeling better than when I arrived; her teaching style was flexible and confidence boosting always. You can tell that motorcycles are her passion and that she just wants her clients to feel good on their bikes.
