Elaine's is absolutely incredible. A beautiful building full of antiques and comfortably furnished. The architect is stunning. Abbey runs the place and is a wonderful person. She cooks a mean breakfast also. I would highly recommend Elaine's and hope to stay here again in the future

Clean and serene! Abby and Stella are great hosts - thoughtful and friendly. I had a great nights sleep and a beautiful morning in the dog-friendly room. The accommodations are homey (in a fancy way) and unique. I loved hearing about the family business! Hope to return with my mom!

We just spent 2 WONDERFUL days at Elaine's in the little village of Cedar Crest, which is snuggled into the East Mountain region of New Mexico. This gorgeous and spacious B&B is an idealized version of a log cabin, but with all the modern amenities, and it exudes warmth and charm. Our room (the one with the bunnies carved into the headboard of our four-poster bed) was airy, spacious, well decorated and clean as a whistle. It had a large closet, a private bath, a fireplace, and a patio. For $159, it was a very good deal. Elaine O'Neil is a charming hostess, who personally cooks breakfast (included) each morning. Another huge selling point is the AMAZING array of books, new and old, on nearly every topic, from biography and history to potboiler and serious fiction...and everything in between. Next time we journey to the Albuquerque area, we will most definitely return to Elaine's.

As much as I want to be brief it's impossible. My husband and I wanted a peaceful and relaxing getaway from Los Angeles and we found it at this secret hideaway. From the extremely friendly welcome from Myra the family puppy ( Big puppy) to meeting Elain's grandson David and friend Marge we felt at home. We stayed up late chatting with the family and playing with Myra who by the way guilted us into playing fetch. Breakfast was wonderful. Our only regret was that we could only stay one night. But we will be back.

View of porch attached to room. Plenty of snowfall

They served us two great breakfasts and gave us great advice about good places to spend our time in Albuquerque.

Once we booked we arrived we followed the instructions on our confirmation. It gave us a code to a secure box where we were to find the rest of the details for our stay. It felt a lot like a scene from Clue. Fun! Inside looks exactly how you'd hope it to look based on the outside. It's filled with authentic built in furniture in solid sturdy wood. Ours was the Garden Room which was more of a suite than a room. In addition to the queen bed, there is also a separate room (like a living room) with a pull out couch. The living room has a door that leads out to a balcony that looks over the entire property. From there you can see a huge courtyard with a fireplace and luxurious lounge chairs, hammocks and benches. There is a pond, or more of a brook that runs through the back courtyard. I never determined if there were fish. The entire setting is a place for anyone but particularly those who want to take a few days to catch their breath. I sure did. In the morning the DH B&B served homemade quiche, multigrain pancakes, piping hot coffee and juice. If you are going to be in Albuquerque and are doing some comparisons, this one is more than just clean; it's delightful. I am a local. Even so, I'll be treating myself to this again..and again.

They also make all of the bathroom products in the rooms. Central location, easy to get to any of the main freeways and super close to the airport. I highly recommend trying Groves which is a 2 minute walk away for to go coffee, sweets or food. Very trendy little place with amazing homemade English muffins. Definitely worth supporting over the chain places in town. It made for a unique travel experience.
