It was served by our very unprofessional bartender in a plastic cup. Half foam and it was 9.00 dollars. I asked why so small and she said it was because of the high alcohol content. I asked her to at least put it in a glass and she "huffed" and put it in a larger plastic cup. My husband got a Sprite and it was 2.50 with no refills. What a blast to the past. Walking in was like walking into the Frankie's back when I was growing up I think it's great they kept the history. The bartender was super nice. They offer samples to make sure you like what you try. The best part is they offer a small 8oz side, which is really nice so you can try others. I would come back here to try the food. A lovely surprise in downtown Menasha. The staff was very friendly, with multiple people checking in on us. Hubby and I both enjoyed our beer - I like the Scottish Ale. When I explained that I needed a vegan meal and have allergies, they said they could accommodate. The chef came out to make sure I was comfortable with the options. So glad we finally stopped in there! The location is perfect and the building is just gorgeous. First and foremost...truly amazing beer! We sampled several/most of the beers they have. Wow...the multi layers of flavors in the beers really pop and we love how full bodied they are. There is a great variety of the types of beers he makes (including a scrumptious Mead!). Was told he uses locally sourced ingredients and we are all about supporting our local businesses (especially now). The hostesses were wonderful and can tell they have as much passion as was told the owner does. The information provided really got us understanding his background in relation to his brewing processes. I've tried this place so many times really hoping I would have a good experience over the few years. I understand the service at every place is slow, and I had no issue with that. What I have issue with is the quality. The cocktails at this place are so watered down with soda, the photo is an old fashion but as you can see they put it in a tall glass and just added a bunch of soda, it was not worth the price. I left my full drink with my bill because there was no way I could force myself to drink it. The beer doesn't have any flavor, if you aren't a beer lover, you might like it though since it is so bland. The food is standard bar food, nothing special but not awful. We stumbled on this place after a walk and couldn't have been more pleased. The atmosphere was really nice, had a great menu, and a nice patio. We loved the beer menu and the waitress let us keep my dog outside by our table. She was so sweet and helped navigate us through the menu. Our food was excellent and he portions were enormous. It was very reasonably priced and had an excellent atmosphere. I was so impressed by this little place! It is very casual and it's easy to get there if you are coming off the trestle trail. There is plenty of bike and car parking close by. It is extremely casual and there is really no need to dress up. Highlight: they use manderfields buns and make a mean spinach and artichoke dip. We've been here a handful of times since were within walking distance. Everytime it gets better. The cheese curds and fish fry were pretty darn good! The beers are DEFINITELY getting better. Sampled the black IPA... not much better. Gave them one more shot with the Stout. Was okay. As a long time home brewer/"beer snob"... I would say these boys need to revisit their process/ingredients... food was decent... would have been good if it had been warm. One bartender/waitress in the entire joint. We have been to this restaurant three times. The first time was great--excellent service and good food. The second time was not as great. The server couldn't answer even basic questions, such as what were the salad dressing choices, and he didn't seem to understand that then his job was to find out; I had to tell him to please ask someone else. The food quality was also mixed -- some was very good and other items mediocre. We gave the place a third try and it was worse. Again, the server, a different one than the previous time, couldn't answer questions about the menu items and didn't know what the specials were. She kept saying, "They don't tell us these things," which likely is accurate, as it seems there is a lack of training of the wait staff. The food was poor. Mine was lukewarm upon arrival -- I would guess it was setting for some time after being prepared. On the other hand, my husband's pasta was undercooked and his stroganoff was way too salty; there was way too little pasta for the amount of meat. I hate to give a bad review to a local place, but this restaurant clearly has management problems. The mixed reviews here on Yelp tell me that our experience -- sometimes good, sometimes awful -- is not unique, and there seems to be a pattern of management not training employees well. read more

We ate here with high hopes for some delicious food and were disappointed. The doughy onion rings had a batter without flavor and tasted a bit like a doughnut with an onion in it. They were made with red onion, an interesting choice but didn't make up for the rescue of the ring. My lemonade was delightfully tart. The burger I ordered was somewhat bland except for some salt and pepper in a few bites and were accompanied by soft fries without a crisp. Lots of red cabbage was in the cole slaw which gave it an interested texture but a wee bit bitter in taste. Unfortunately, we had really slow service. It took 15 minutes to get the bill and pay once the table had been cleared. I've never reviewed this low before now and don't do so lightly. read more

We were there last night around 6:15pm. It was pretty dead, only two other people in the restaurant. We ordered two burgers and it took over 40 min to get them. I had ordered mine medium well and when it came it was so rare that I was worried to even eat it. My fries tasted like they were doused in seasoning and were so salty they burned my mouth. I'm usually not one to complain and didn't have time for it to be remade because we were seeing a show upstairs afterwards. Definitely would not recommend eating there. read more

I really do love their food but as they get busier the owners don't seem to have enough staff ratio and it is very disorganized. They need a hostess and a hostess stand, a electronic seating chart and a process for orders being placed. We waited almost 45 minutes for our food because no one knew for sure if our order had been placed, I am afraid that if this doesn't change people will stop going here. Usually disorganized when we've been there. However, the perch were great when they were prepared correctly. When we were there two weeks ago, they changed the perch and they were not good at all. We like the place and would like them to succeed, but it's been so inconsistent. After our last Friday fish encounter with the change in perch, we decided we've given them enough chances. read more

What a bummer. Everyone in the place had been working there for at most two weeks and we understand why. The service and food were awful. Really bummed because we were so excited to try the place out. I ordered a salad with no blue cheese as I have a dairy allergy.... salad came out with blue cheese on it. I even told the server I have an allergy which usually I get a manager sent over or conformation of some sort acknowledging my allergy. Sent the salad back to be remade. Took another 16 minutes...... yes a salad remake. We sat and watched others get their food before us. You would think my remake would go to the front of the line, but nop. We ended up getting half off the whole bill and we left. No one ate more than two bites of their food as the other two plates came out cold. The steak and fish tacos, cold. I understand opening a resturant, but when you've never worked in the industry before, I would seriously reconsider this decision. The we could hear the bartender explain that "on the fly" means first, not last. Real bummer to an already awful day. I hope they can get some experienced bodies in there to fix the place up.
