I ordered delivery. I ordered the Szechuan chicken, egg roll, and crab rangoon. I will finish the review after I finish my meal. ...Well I'm finished. My bill total came to $16.86. I started of course with the crab Rangoon. It came in four pieces per order. The flavor was good but I normally like it to have a little bit of sweetness to it. The real problem I had with it, was how small it was. It's probably the smallest crab Rangoon I've ever seen. Now onto the eggroll. I really have nothing bad to say about it. Good flavor, but again a little on the small side. The Szechuan chicken was also good, but the portion size was extremely small compared to the price. The chicken was a little rubbery. The other good part was it arrived superfast. If it wasn't for such a small portion sizes, I would probably order from here again. It's in the same building as the bbq place. Just walk past the BBQ and go into the Express place. We got the pad Thai and it was delicious.. tastes like authentic Thai food... the kitchen is an open one so if you like to see where and how your food is made this is the place. The bad part.. is that they have young people working who aren't too concerned about health standards. No hairnet or hair restraints seen and only one person washed their hands. Horrible experience I ordered wor su gai it's not traditional wor su gai and has mushrooms which I am allergic to. I called and told them I as traditional wor su gai doesn't have mushrooms in it. I was told they couldn't replace it because of covid! I said well I can just come in and you can refund me she said let me ask the manager!! I was then told they can't do anything about it!!! Then asked to speak to the manager and he left supposedly while i was on the phone with in a matter of seconds!!! I ordered House Lo Mein and Dragon Phoenix, both were very underwhelming! The lo mein was 95% noodles and barely any meat besides bland chicken! No seasoning and very limited vegetables! The Dragon Phoenix was even worse, NO SEASONING whatsoever, everything tasted like it was just boiled in plain water, ABSOLUTELY NO HOT SPICE, as it was indicated on menu! Other versions of this same chicken and shrimp dish make it with General Tso's chicken And spicy shrimp! This was nothing like it! Hence the name "Dragon Phoenix"! Not what we were expecting. From other reviews we thought it was a sit down restaurant. It is but after you go up to the counter and place your order. The building is large from the exterior view so we expected a sit-down place. Food was okay but not worth the price. We thought the small portion of beef and shrimp with vegetables and plain fried rice was high. We asked for two meats. The regular price was around $7.99. I asked to add shrimp. It almost doubled the price. I thought we were getting two meals for the price we were charged. Probably won't return. read more

I have not been to empress express in many years and this was my first time at the new location. The owner was here cooking as he has always been. In fairness I visited at an off time when they were very slow. The food was not as good as I had remembered and the rice seemed to have been waiting a lot longer than it should have. The location is strange with a coffee bar, mini arcade, and odd dining room. It may have a good feel when busy though. When I get a chance I will go at a busier time and update this review read more

I was a longtime Custer Rim / Empress Express but today I ordered a large chicken fried rice which is one of my go-to quick meals and everything went as normal babe I called in the order I went in to pick it up paid for it left started eating and took the first bite didn't taste quite right the second bite confirmed it and it's got it the only way I know how to explain it it's like a little chemical taste to it. I took it back to get in the cashier got some older gentleman he came over ask me a few questions and if I wanted to remake it and might know it would be made from the same stock that you took to make that meal and he said he does not give refund so he absolutely refuses to make things right when they go wrong unfortunately he just lost a long-time customer sorry delivery people you guys know me I always tip good read more

I just called to get a delivery because I have a very sick child and can not leave my house. Before today, I have NEVER had a problem with them delivering to my house. As a matter of fact, they just delivered here a couple of weekends ago. In the middle of giving them my order, I was cut off and told they don't deliver to my house. I asked to speak to the owner, and was told he would not speak to me. I asked the man if it was a mistake because they have delivered here many many times before. He then repeated that they don't deliver to my address and never have (which is clearly not true). He told me that they could meet me at Kroger ( which is right across the street from my house, but they still would not come to my house today). I would understand if they changed their delivery route recently, but that was not the case. We will never order from here again! read more

This has always been a solid staple for good Chinese in this area. I'm not adventurous so I stick with general tso or just chicken fried rice. Decent flavor and they set themselves apart from other typical places. Egg rolls are good as well. Staff is always nice and friendly. read more

Excellent food!!! Owner is great! Always make a trip when im in town. Price and portions are very great. Love the mongolian beef havent found one to beat it yet!! Love that they now have a side shop with amish goodies, cheeses and meats! Great for dinning in or take out. read more

We were hesitant. This place looked small tucked away with a bulk foods store. We were pleasantly surprised. I had the Szechuan chicken. Plenty spicy tho not unbearable. Food was fresh, which is key. This is an amazing restaurant! I love their food! I really like the fact that this restaurant is a little bit different than some others. You walk up to the register and order your food, then they bring it out to you! The staff is wonderful as well. Very nice and respectful. The food is delicious as well. The fried is simply amazing!
