They sure are trying with the times to change and modernize and I give them credit rather than McDonald's which is struggling immensely selling the same burgers and fries that they have for 50+ years. Based on limited selection in a small town I had stopped in here as you pretty much have an idea of where you are going to get from ordering at Timmy hoho's. I had selected the spicy chicken BLT sandwich and the Thai soup that looked to be the new special soup. The chicken soup was not very good way too soapy tasting. I only ate half of it. The chicken sandwich was a bit of a surprise as it was pretty spicy. I do like spice. Rarely when I order something spicy do I find they get it right. Spice is very relative as it varies from one person to another. This location is fresh and clean and of no issue. Lots of regulars hanging around giving us (out of towers) some interesting looks. Funny but understanding how it is kind of a neighbourhood hang out for many locals.

If you get a chance eat in the veranda area. The view on a nice evening is quite scenic. Perusing the menu they had a good offering of seafood, steaks and many other things including pasta and salad. Asking the server and she mentioned the specialty of the restaurant was the prime rib roast beef. So I ended up ordering a 10 oz (rare) with fries and vegetables. Also served with the meal was a wonderful very tangy vinaigrette coleslaw that was bit garlicky but slightly sweet which was very nice to get the appetite going. The beef was excellent. A good portion with some fatty areas but not tough at all and seasoned lightly. My cut was rare and done exactly as I preferred. I worked my way around the fat and very much enjoyed the meal! It was just the perfect size. Not belly ache too much but I was hungry. Service was very good. Overall I'd say this is the restaurant to come to in the region. Come eat the beef. You won't be disappointed. They have a 20oz if you have a construction worker or a fat mans appetite.

Rather than try and work out the French for salmon and maki and all the other Japanese words to translate, I just ordered the chef's special. Seven plates arrived over the course of about 30 minutes. Some of them quite creative, like the three scallops each cooked in a different method. The salmon maki rolls with cucumber. The starting dish was a really interesting "sushi pizza" that didn't make a whole lot of sense - a fish cake on the bottom, topped with smoked salmon and a huge pile of cucumbers and carrots in a tangy vinegar dressing. It was difficult to eat and not very sushi-ish at all. You will want to make a reservation in advance. This place is usually busy on weekend nights. They do have a couple of tables outside during the warmer times.

No tempura fried vegetables but they have a tempura fried vegetable roll, which was phenomenal! Miso soup was a bit salty for me but each miso soup is different per restaurant. Family really enjoyed many other sushi rolls, and liked the larger fish to rice ratio on the nigiri. Roxanne was very pleasant and kind, she impressed us with knowing English and French. If you go here, GET THE FRIED ICE CREAM. It's different from the Mexican fried ice cream at other places, as instead of chocolate sauce it has real maple syrup! It's a light syrup that the owner makes themselves, with a thick and delicious shell and strawberries as well. Over all a pleasant experience and would definitely recommend to those who love sushi.

Mia pasta is becoming a formidable chain in the province of Quebec as Quebeckers love their pasta. I joke around with my wife that she's not a descendant from France but Italy. People are crazy about their pasta here so this concept works well. Really when you think about it have you ever met anyone who doesn't like Italian food? Okay back to the review. With lots of different pasta selection I had gone for the chicken pad thai. Now..... I was not expecting anything close to a traditional pad thai but it was done in a sweet spicy sauce. Overall it was edible but not memorable. Chunks of chicken were good and the spice helped make it an okay meal. Very weird they gave me a piece of garlic bread with it but okay....I ate it! There is so much choice here if you like pasta there is really something for everyone. Portion size is generous and enough to fill you up. You order cafeteria style and your pasta is prepared warmed up fresh in a frying pan in front of your eyes. I also had a creme of broccoli soup that tasted like a frozen add milk solution that was somewhat salty. Not a great soup. Really a good concept if pasta and noodles are your thang! Don't expect the best pasta meal in your life but you can find something decent for under $15 taxes in with a drink.
